Another con is the big cord hanging out in the water. They should have a few clips that you can stick to the bottom of the board that you can clip the cord into. Keep it tight to the board and reduce drag.. however I agree with the other comments that this set up is a pretty good deal at €599. I’ve built several jet boards and parts alone are well over $1000 without the board. So kudos to aqua marina for getting a quality product out there for $650. Trust me that’s cheap.

On the drive section on the bottom of the plastic shell I saw some bolts. Take them off drill some holes on metal plates and reattach the bolts to protect the plastic casing. Put some mesh over the intakes to eliminate weed.

As a sup fisherman I would prefer to use a sealed agm battery with 35 amp hours. For all day use as
2 hours per lithium pack is to small!
Even 2 packs at 4 hrs is risky.
I fish some very large inland reservoirs. Whith strong afternoon winds.
This type of battery can be charged from vehicles alternator or a household battery charger. At 12v dc

I live next to the Waikato River in NZ this would really open up much more variation for me as I could then start my paddle with say an hour down river towards Port Waikato without assistance and then turn around and put it on full power coming back against the current. I would never dream of doing that now as you can get really caught out trying that with a paddle alone.

    • @SUPboardermag
      @SUPboardermag  3 года назад +2

Yeah this will open up a lot of possibilities for people. Obviously you always want to make sure your equipment is in top condition and the battery is fully charged when going on any mini mission.

That kill cable looks awfully short, it's already very stretched on the short board in the demonstration. Probably wouldn't work with a 14 or 18 feet board?
But we really need something with more power. :)

Once again Donna you have raised a good point. Easy to lengthen though. But if the board was not so wide (this one is massive) you could place the battery unit further along the board, so it wouldn't be a problem. Thanks for the feedback 👍🏼 , Reuben

What's the possibility of doing a touring board comparison video with the current popular touring boards for sale?
I'm on a few groups on social media, and it's seems to be a common question with there being alot of new paddlers this year who discover touring is for them.

First i was satisfied with the speeds, i go like 4km/h on first setting and 5km/h on second setring. But then:
I have a left side drift, have to steer right often to keep tracking my course. This could be the kayaks build issue.
Second cond, the power dies when having 2 blocks battery out of 4. After this i can keep using the motor for several seconds, then again dies The battery indicator isn'y correct. You could do, if you can get it to fit in your fin box and on your board.

Like an electric bike turn it off when going down hill and on the flat only use it for assistance when going up hills. Double the battery life. 😀😃😄😁😆😅🤣😂

@@SolarPowerChannelwithChris took the plunge and ordered it from Banggood around 300 GBP. Tested it out of the water.. all looks good and functional. Had to modify the mounting to fit my Decathlon SUP (Itiwit). Took a bit of doing.. used a Dremel and 220 grit sand paper. Fits perfectly now.. but took about 3 hours of careful shaping (the AQUA Marina mount is rectangular but the itiwit female mount is tapered). Taking it out with the kids this afternoon.. fingers crossed!

@@hariramachandran1842 nice! Let us know how you get on. Tempted to get one, where I am. The Hamble river in the UK, the currents can be pretty strong.

@@SolarPowerChannelwithChris Worked a treat! Tested it in a marina (in Singapore), so not exposed to open sea and no real currents. We're planning on taking it out next weekend to some of the smaller islands around Singapore - open seas and stronger currents. Will let you know how we do (assuming we survive the experiment!).

Technically, it’s not a turbine. A turbine produces power, this is the opposite of a turbine.
