I love the fact that Luffy's "idgaf" attitude is rubbing off on his grand fleet subordinates. To be fair, Charloss deserves all the beating that he gets.
something that i thought of is that sai and leo are part of the straw hat grand fleet. we saw what happened what would happen if someone attacked a celestial dragon in sabaody. let’s say sai and leo end up killing charlos. how will the government respond to that news and to the straw hats opposed to just attacking a celestial dragon?
I'm pretty sure Cobra knew he was going to die. He is terminally ill and was going to use the last bit of his life to get answers for his kingdom. He dismissed his body guards before entering to go to Vivi and it didn't show their faces. I think they were holding back tears as they knew it was their last time seeing Cobra alive (that part is a bit more wild theory wise). I'm sure Pell, Igaram, Chaka are aware of all of the history that Cobra mentioned and Vivi will inherit Cobra's will. Also it's interesting that Vivi is currently with Morgans, which means that they could publish the letter that has been passed down for 800 years in the newspaper if they really wanted. Morgans would love to publish some sweet void century news!
Another reason he sent Pell and Chaka way is also because he knows damn well Vivi's not going to let him get killed so their job is most likely to make sure she does'nt come back.
Given the World Government's track record, I don't think having his subordinates stand outside the audience chamber really protects them from repercussions if he demonstrates knowledge he can be killed for. "Well we killed Cobra. Do you think he told his guards?" "I dunno. We should kill them anyway. To be sure." "And the rest of his entourage." "Come to think of it. He could have told anyone in Alabaster." "I think he spoke to the cheesemonger while he was here. I'll have the man's family purged."
My question would be if Cobra went in there with some sort of recording dendenmushi or the like hidden on his person or his wheelchair. You don't go into a suicide situation to get information and not do something to ensure that the information gets out.
Imagine if Charloss trained. Dude was gifted with high level durability, withstanding an enraged Luffy punch, a metal club to the face, and then the continent-splitting attacks. Dude's durability is approaching Doflamingo levels.
There is another character that may not be the strongest but have insane amount of durability that being Brownbeard, I put him and Charlos in the same category. That said, I'm pretty sure Charlos is still alive only to be punched into oblivion by post ts luffy
I'm actually pretty sure that the Celestial Dragons probably undergo experimental procedures for longevity and probably endurance, giving how they are even scared of breathing the air of the common people.
This chapter actually gives a possible reason for Kuma to climb the Redline. He may be trying to comply with the last order that he was given before the revolutionaries took him away. To kill Mjosgard.
My favorite part of the chapter was charloss getting squished, because the fan translation has St. Rosward saying “look how the massacred my boy!” I really hope that becomes the standard translation for the anime.
Bro my favorite part is that this feels like the incident foretold back in dressrosa. Hopefully this starts the gears into those guys coming back into the story! Barto meeting emperor luffy would be peak barto content
@@Cook_A_Burra I have been through Alabasta Arc a while ago and I can't stop thinking about it. This place played a huge part in The Whole One Piece Lore.
I imagine the 19 families wanted the world to think they were always celestial dragons, always gods, not kings who became gods. Basically to remove the idea that anyone else could ever become one.
Yeah. We have a schewed perception about History because most of the Straw Hats don't care about it. And much of what we learned came from kings, princesses, Clover, and Robin. People who know a lot more than the average person. So apparently when Clover spoke of the 19 kings in the Ohara flashback, he wasn't reciting stuff everyone knows, that was already taboo info in itself.
We probably know all female ancestors of Vivi now. Since Vivi’s mom is Titi we can assume ever since Lili, the next ones would be Mimi, Nini, Pipi, Qiqi, Riri, and Sisi. This also lines up with the timeline since it would be one per century. And there has been 8 since Lili.
@@DogwiththeButter the admirals on previous chapters mention it's an "attempted murder". So we probably going to see charlos get beaten up at least one more time 💀
I think an important take-away point is that just before Morley takes Kuma away, the very last order Kuma received was from St. Charlos, and the order is to kill Mjorsgard. This could explain why Kuma is desperate to travel to the red line, and scale up to Marijoa, not because he regained his sentience, but because he was asked to carry out the murder, or attempted murder of Mjorsgard, a Celestial Dragon.
Facts. All the stuff were getting now ties directly back to this Arc and strengthens my opinion, that Alabasta was a waaay better version of Dressrosa.
The guards that Sabo and Bonney hid from were literal NPC’s lmao. They had their “must’ve been the wind…” moment while also spouting expositional dialogue disguised as normal conversation, just to let the player where to go 😂 shits hilarious
I just disagree that Cobra was in any danger of dying UNTIL Imu shows up. After he was done talking the first time the Gorosei pretty much said "Ok and?" like nothing was a big deal to them. To be more clear, I don't believe that the gorosei didn't know the truth I just simply don't believe that they had any intention of having Cobra killed.
Cobra is a CD and treated has such by them, all CD knew about the D clan and his info is from old books that they let them keep knowing full well he might reveal it in news. So, everything but the letter is no big deal nor is asking about this. Imu is the big deal though.
@@sarthakarora3212 No.. they aren’t CD. Had the Nefertari moved to marijois than Cobra and Vivi would’ve been CD’s. CD’s are only decedent’s to the 19 families, excluding the Nefertari. And yes the letter is big news..especially from a traitor family and then knowing that it was passed down to generation to generation.
I'm pretty sure he knew before the meeting started that he was gonna die because of the questions he had. In the previous chapter he told Pell and Chaka to not stick around but go find Vivi and stay close to her instead.
But what good does dying do? Unless he’s recording everything or has someone else listening in like Imu was, I don’t see the point of just going in there and dying.
@@wisepainting6876 He was already dying so he is just kicking the hornet's nest before he goes. As for his reasons it could just be simple curiosity or to martyr himself. He just needs someone on the outside knowing what he was going to ask for it to work (Pell or Chaka would work and he made sure they were as far away as possible). If the World Government kills him, it proves his suspicions and allows allied nations like Dressrosa and Fishman Island chance to prepare to aid the Revolutionaries and/or Luffy (at the behest of Vivi) in their fight against the World Government.
Charloss being accordianed to death is not what I asked for but exactly what I needed. Also, I love "LOOK HOW THEY MASSACRED MY BOY!" I didn't expect that 😂😂😂
I have this hilarious idea about Charloss that I could see Oda doing. Imagine that at some point it is reveal that because of all the head trauma Charloss got, his brain ends up getting damaged to the point he actually starts acting like a decent and good person. And not only that, but also his face ends up being handsome, kinda like when Sanji kicked Wanze and Duval's faces, just this was accidentally because of all the damage he got. I could genuinely see Oda doing that, and it would be hilarious.
Normally I would say that this theory is total bs but since Sanji kicked Duvall face so hard that he becomes handsome, I would not be surprised Charlos becomes good from repeated brain injury.
I really like the Idea that Lili is just Imu, not possessed or turned into Imu or something. An Ancestor of the one good royal family we always had in this story being the absolute evil sounds really interesting to me. Maybe the nefetari Family was the worst family of them all before Lilis brother took over? Could be really cool to see in the Void Century Flashback i think.
@@_clem_003 that is, only if you assume that IMU/Lily ever gave a fuck about her family, she decided to fake her disappearance to stay at mariejois of her own Accord, plus she didn't lift a finger when Alabasta was in political instability. IMU is definitely the most evil character we've seen yet so her not loving her family anymore wouldn't be farfetched
Agreed, this would be super cool. It’d also be interesting to have a female final villain, because we’ve really had very few female major antagonists throughout the series. It’s basically big mom and… Alvida?maybe half of boa since she was an antagonist for like 5 seconds before she fell for luffy. I can’t think of any other arc villains who are female lol, so this would be wild
I'd also imagine that darth vader grissle and rasp to it, not only for something existing over 800 years, and potentially op op no mi, and Oda's a known chain smoker, so that would be perfect
Also I was looking into what the blue lily means in Egyptian mythology and found this " The god of the blue water lily was Nefertem, a god not just linked to the sun but to beautification and healing." & "It was he who brought a water lily to the sun god Ra, to help ease the suffering of his aging body" Could connect sooo many things
My theory is Lily was a traitor from the void century she betrayed joy boy his wife Hera even backstabbed her brother!!! She traveled to the future with lady toki but instead of helping bring the dawn, she black-mailed the world government by threatening to tell where the ancient weapons are!!!
@@keepwishin99I mean yeah but do you see how many people in the one piece community just act like their theories are facts when there is no evidence? I can’t count how many times people unironically call Imu a woman or Shanks evil with no doubt in their mind despite neither of these theories having any evidence.
I feel like if there's one singular thing that a Celestial Dragon isn't allowed to do, it'd be that they're not allowed to kidnap and enslave royal family members who attend the Reverie. Like, even if Charloss succeeded here, they'd probably make him give her back. You know, the rest of the world is fair game, but we kind of depend on the kings for our existence, and if we can't guarantee their safety in our own home, not only would they stop coming, but they'll probably turn against us out of self-preservation. So, you know, don't do that.
I get the idea of Lili being related to Amazon Lily because of the name, but I think there is a more symbolic indication of where Lili ended up stated and brought to our attention very clearly this chapter. The 20 families agreed to plunge their weapons into the pedestal of the empty throne to show that none of them would strive to be ahead of the others... and yet we are clearly told here that Lili did not put a sword in front of the throne. Lili is Im.
I think Lily didnt want to team up with the other Kings because she was in love with Joyboy ang got hunted by the other kings all over the world. So she had to hide and founded Amazon Lily.
that's an interpretation for sure, and very sound one too, but it's weird from a narrative POV: in this theoretical timeline why is Lili a buttmunch, but her brother wasn't. Oda can pull it off, but he'll need to give us a believable reason why it turned out like this
I actually hope this is not the case. I want to believe that Oda is capable of writing an interesting female character without having to resort to her being a "love interest". I know YOU probably can't, but pleaseeee Goda, don't dissapoint me 😅😅
Regardless of the nature of Imu and lili’s relationship, I have a feeling that Imu’s tone in the end of the chapter surely is FURIOUS, some deep as hell memories were just raised to the surface and they are so pissed they revealed themself
that sword stuck on the ground of the flower room is probably Lili's sword that she was supposed to place by the throne. So Im probably had Lili kidnapped and brought back to the Marijoa and killed/frozen in the ice dungeon place or something of that nature.
Is it just me or is amazon lily's history of rulers kinda align with Lili's possible fate. The empresses of amazon lily either die or leave due to them contracting love sickness, a disease that causes the afflicted to have an extreme version of the emotions that lovers would suffer while courting each other. Amazon lily could've been founded by Lili because she loved Joyboy and she couldn't get over his death, hence why she didn't vow to the empty throne, and the start she could've been the start of the love sickness. Other weird things about Lili is that she could be a reference to Lilith from the Bible. The will of D could be the start of the devil fruits due to Lilith being the mother of all demons. Lilith was also the first wife of Adam, and she also left the garden of eden. The garden of eden could be Im's garden.
@@redfootzeff1212 it's a just a theory. I think the whole Im = lili is kinda weak and this is the better theory that I can think of. If not this theory then maybe Lili could've been the former user of ope ope fruit and she was forced to do the immortality surgery on Im, and that's why she never came home, but that still doesn't explain why Im cares about Vivi's bounty poster. Maybe it's because Vivi looks exactly like Lili, I dunno it's still early to make better theories, but in absence of better info this is the best I came out with.
The end of this chapter probably explains how Sabo saw the death of Cobra (or at least his body) AND is aware of Ims existence. Sabo will likely find his way into the room very soon
The implications of Karasu's fruit are terrifying. Imagine if the awakening of logias is to completely manipulate any of your element in your general vicinity. Oh, what's that, Kizaru is after you? Good luck finding an island with absolutely no light
2nd best comment behind cobra balls of sea prism steel lol. I constantly think this these past 10 chapters specifically. its speechless. Shanks, Blackbeard, Law, Kidd, Garp, Kuzan, Sabo, the revs, the strawhats, CPO & vegapunk, and now IM... i mean come on. And all after a giant arc of the two strongest old era yonkous going down, big mom and kaido... and buggy/cross guild... just wild.
Cobra has the biggest fucking balls in all of OP for the shit he just pulled, if anyone doubted him really dying, that question about "D" sealed his fate.

@@zulhilmi5787 There's no confirmation. However, there are "BAM" sound effects showing that bullets make contact with Karasu in chapter 1083, but Katakuri was able to control his mochi after seperating it from his body (i.e. his Unstoppable Donuts that he makes more arms with), and we haven't seen that yet with Logias I believe. I'm super hyped you're reading stormlight now, and I've been loving seeing so much overlap of the fandoms on youtube in the last couple years. I've been an avid fan of stormlight (and sanderson in general) since way of kings first came out in 2010, and in the last few years as I've fallen deeper into the one piece rabbit hole I've been convinced that they have a lot in common. While one piece is far more light hearted, the journey before destination message has clearly been there for a long time. I hadn't noticed it on my first read way back when, but on my first reread when Luffy stops Ussop from asking Raleigh about the one piece I got chills. Can't wait to hear about your journey through Roshar!
Could Im be somehow shortened from Imhotep? Imhotep was a high priest of the Egyptian sun god. He had a mysterious cult-like following that persisted long after his death. It would tie into the Egyptian theme of Alabasta, and Nefertari was the first queen of Ramses II (Ozymandias). Imhotep served King Djoser as his highest advisor, master of the royal shipyard, and overseer of all construction. Djoser's burial pyramid is one of the oldest stone ruins remaining from Egypt's "Old Kingdom" era. Djoser (King of the Old Kingdom, Will of D?) Im (Imhotep - Priest of the Sun God, ancient weapon creator?) Nefertari (the vanished Queen) Could be something there.
@@Hugo_Prolovski The burial pyramid that Imhotep built for Djoser is the oldest known structure built from cut stone. There's a possible poneglyph connection there as well.
@@DeathlyHollows both are right. Arabasta is how the Japanese pronounced it but it can be Alabasta as well. Just like some translations used either Sabaody or Shabondy.
Lets not understate the fact that we may very well be about to get the True meaning and significance of D. I can easily see Imu just telling Cobra straight up, knowing he isnt making out alive. Oda's killin it.
We may learn it from Vivi. She's such a fan favorite character, it'd be lovely if she got to reveal it. Either to the audience, or even to the crew. Ya know, assuming she has the Nefretari letter, and I'm sure she does.
I loved this chapter. It was always strange that the 20 kingdoms, who have been portrayed as evil and wanting to rule the planet, randomly had a single good person among them who decided 'nah I don't actually want the world domination we went to war for'. It makes WAY more sense that the Nefertari were just the most evil and power hungry of them all, and that Lili simply lied to the entire world (and possibly the other kingdoms?) and seized the throne for themselves. This also explains why Vivi was singled out way back when we saw Imu with the pictures; they're related to one another. I don't know if Imu is Lili, or just a descendant, but it's a very interesting revelation that definitely makes Imu more interesting to think about.
I don't think Imu is Lili nor that they are related (not by blood at least, cause I do think that there's some connection between them since Imu said her name and they probably did know each other if Imu is from the void century). I think it's probably a red herring and the biggest clue is the existence of the letter that Cobra mentioned, supposedly written by Lili herself. I might be misinterpreting the chapter, but it seems to me that what prompted Imu to show up in front of Cobra (and probably what sealed Cobra's fait even before he had seen Imu) is the fact that that letter exists and Cobra obviously read it (and probably revealed it's content to the Gorosei while we switched locations in this chapter). The thing is if Imu and Lili are the same person, then Imu should know about that letter, and they probably should also know that the Nefertari have been reading it for centuries, but if the content of that letter means that anyone who reads it must die, then the Nefertari should not really exist. This to me means that Imu didn't know about that letter nor what it said, and if that's true then Imu and Lili are definitely not the same person. I personally think that Imu was not one of the 20 Kings but an ally of them, maybe their leader (or a leader in the shadows), their champion, or some other form of ally, and so they did know each and every one of the 20 Kings, including Lili, who I would guess was killed by Imu. My guess is that Vivi is basically the spitting image of Lili (which seems very likely from what we saw of Lilis appearence) and so Imu was thinking that Vivi was probably gonna be as big of a pain in the ass for them as Lili was, which is why they were singling her out while looking at her picture, probably with the intention of getting rid of her before she became too much of a problem.
@@Iqnacio. The only issue I have with that is that the Nefertari family, and Arabasta, still exist. From everything we've seen from Imu, they don't tolerate any form of defiance or opposition. People that seek the truth aren't only killed, but their entire nation is destroyed. Open defiance has been met with a nation not only being physically annihilated, but erased from history. If a Nefertari directly opposed and/or betrayed Imu, at a bare minimum their entire family line would have been wiped out, and at most they'd get the Lulusia treatment. I guess there is the possibility that Imu (or their ancestor) loved Lili, Lili rejected them, so Imu(or their ancestor) just imprisoned / forced her to marry them. In that context the fact the Nefertari still exist, and the obsession with Vivi would also make sense... though I personally hope Oda doesn't give Imu that kind of personality, even if it does fit with how the Celestial Dragons behave.
@@Abyssionknight But we have also seen that they can't simply go around anihilating entire nations, they were only able to do it with Lulusia even tho there are multiple other kingdoms that have gone through succesfull revolutions. Also, I don't see the Nefertari and Alabasta existing as that big of a problem, cause Wano and the Kozuki also kept existing, Elbaf also exists, and quite a few other nations that aren't aligned with the WG, especially considering that Alabasta is one of if not the biggest island we have seen so far, it doesn't seem unreasonable to think that it can't be wiped out like Lulusia was, and definitely not like Ohara was. It's also heavily theorized that Alabasta had an Ancient Weapon at some point, or at the very least had some relationship with Wano that is confirmed to have one (due to the existence of a Poneglyph in Alabasta, one that actually directly points towards Wano), so they may easily have had that extra layer of protection, which especially at the early stages of the World Government may have been too big of a threat for them to go and try to anihilate it. Keeping the Nefertari family alive buit killing Lili before she even made it back may have been the only way to ensure the World Governments safety and strenght at the time, cause even as strong as the WG is now, it has also consistently shown flaws and weaknesses.
@@GroomlakeArea51 Not really? I mean we saw glimples of a lot of physical features of Queen Lili, like hairstyle, a bit of facial features, gender and body type, but literally all of those same traits have been kept hidden in Imus silhouette, the only two defining traits that we have seen from Imu are their eyes and that they seem to be relatively tall for a human in One Piece considering their size compared to the throne, Lilis silhoutte doesn't tell us anything about her eyes nor height so I don't see any resemblance so far. Actually there is another trait shown that is common ground for both of them, their crowns, but they are different, Lilis is way smaller than the giant one that Imu uses. On the other hand, all of the physical features that we can see in Lili are literally just like Vivis, especially the hairstyle. I don't think it's impossible that Imu and Lili are the same person, I'm actually like 60-40 on the issue, but appearence is really not something we can use to know for now.
My One Piece Basketball Team: (Note: for consistency purposes, no one over 20’ was chosen so as to not have mobility issues on an NBA size rim and court (ie. no Kaido or Whitebeard)) PG: Monkey D. Luffy. Natural born leader at the point. G4 speed + “rubber” powers to jump and stretch arms for crazy shots and dunks. Not scared to pass if he needs to but can drive to the rim against anyone. SG: Yasopp. Top sniper with definite observation haki and possibly advanced future sight. Smart player who is draining deep threes all day. Will have great chemistry with Luffy as the team’s main scorers. SF: Trafalgar D. Water Law. Law is the ultimate player to have on the court. His devil fruit powers create unlimited passing, dribbling, shooting, and rebounding possibilities. Absolute court general with high IQ. He’d be a great leader for anyone who’ll listen (everyone but Luffy, but the two will have good chemistry anyway) and perfect support for the rest of the team. PF: Vander Decken IX. Seems like a strange pick, but with his 11’7” frame, multiple lanky arms, and untouchable, filthy stature, he’d be sure to grab some boards. However, he can also pull up from midrange and deep as a shooting big, hitting every shot due to marking the back of the rim with his devil fruit ability. Bad chemistry, but with his powers he will be a fine line wolf (may bond with Kata over their freakishness though). C: Charlotte Katakuri. Despite his insane height at 16’8”, Katakuri also has significant muscle mass to go with, which will serve well to help Kata box out in the paint. Long arms, strong future sight, and sticky mochi devil fruit allow him to grab almost any board, and his armament is very strong for the put back dunks. Also good chemistry with Luffy. Bench: Kozuki Oden (F/C), Kizaru (SF), Doflamingo (F), Sanji (G), Nico Robin (G), Buggy (SG), Urouge (C), Shanks (PG)
It makes sense that the records of celestial dragons being the previous monarchs were scrubbed, because if they weren’t then Doflamingo would’ve been known to be a celestial dragon. Remember the world doesn’t know that he is one, or else Law would’ve factored that into his plans to force him to resign after Punk Hazard
Not gonna lie, when I first read that queen Lili penned down a letter about the D clan for the following generations, I literally thought that he meant that she just wrote down the LETTER “D” in a piece if paper and passed it on. Only after like 5 minutes I understood what he meant 😅

The funniest part of Bonnie meeting the Revolutionaries is how she just believed her dad would just team up and hang with total ruffians or something. XD
You mention something REALLY interesting here, how the main cast of the void century flashback is building up. Joyboy, Lili, and the mermaid princess. Or their modern mirrors, Luffy, Vivi, and Shirahoshi. 3/4 of the characters from Im's pictures. My theory is there's a 4th main character central to that flashback, one who mirrors Blackbeard. And maybe that Blackbeard character was either the ruler of "that certain kingdom" wiped out by the government, or that character becomes Im...
my only problem with lili being Imu is what point does the letter hold at that point? like why would Lili leave a message to be passed down if they were going to just end up ruling the world?
Because lili was intending to dissappear and rule from the shadows, only the gorosei were supposed to ever know of her existence, so that letter might be a red herring she wrote

Alot of people thinking Imu is Lily. Oda does tend to lead the reader in one direction, then flip it hard at the last second. I would expect the same thing here. Another thought, the picture of "Vivi" that Imu is holding is most likely a picture of Lili.
Fan theory - Charlos has the 'real' rubber-rubber fruit and he has used it to survive countless beatings through his life. He has 0 attack power he is just really 'squishy' for a human.
The way Karasu uses his soot reminds me of Big Mom and her homies. Maybe he is able to put a piece of his mind into soot. The soot would remain in its powdery form until someone tries to talk to it, at which point it automatically takes the shape of a crow and can talk. It sounds like Karasu speaking through it, but it's actually talking on its own, but since it has Karasu's mind in it, it speaks as he would speak. That's my guess for now.
Kinda just reminds me of crackers biscuit fruit or prince gruces clay fruit, as for the crow part, it’s just like how Moria turned his shadow into bats. Nothing new, nothing special
I dont know if anybody thought about this but, there was a servant that had contact to imu in the anime right before their meeting with the gorosei. I think it might have been one of the holy knights. In my opinion it wouldnt make much sense for only a normal servant to have contact to the secret ruler of the world. The servant also seems to wear a coat that looks similar to the one that the Holy knight everyone is talking about wears. Also its hard to see but it looks like the servant ist holding on to something at their hip, might be their sword. Also hired a cool sounding voice actress for only about 5 words? Idk there might be something to it but im probably wrong.

That thing of erasing history of the previous royal families made me say; "OMG Doffy used Sugar to turn disidents and other people into toys and not only that, the people turn into toys were 'erased' from peoples memories!"
This makes me want to stick more to the Imu is from 800+ years ago theory. The Gorosei knew jackshit (or probably kept it hidden) then Imu just barges in and acts like he/she knows information from the void century. It would make more sense for him/her to either be immortal and went through the events firsthand, OR There are information that even the Gorosei are not given access to.
For the basketball team: Law is the best choice all around. The Op Op fruit would let you swap your teammates and opponents places around at will. You would have 100% posession because whenever an opponent takes the ball you just swap places with them and now you have the ball. Fujitora is also a great option because you can gravity the other team so they can’t jump or shoot at all. And Kizatu’s pica pica fruit would let you zip around and block every shot or make it to the opposing net instantly.
I dont think they removed the records that the Tenryuubito families ruled over those countries, since Cobra talks about how Lily was immortalized by being one of the 20 founders, so its not secret knowledge I think. What they removed is the history of those noble families, so no one knows their origins and what they did even before the void century
She is known only because she supposedly went back, and there's a letter that has been passes through generations. I doubt is common knowledge in arabasta
It may be too obvious but I do really feel like Lili is Imu. Both characters are currently still only silhouettes and Lili was the only empress to not pledge a weapon at the empty throne. Imu also has some sort of interest in Vivi because in chapter 908 Vivi is the only poster Imu didn’t destroy or cut, so they definitely have some sort of interest in her Ok I looked at chapter 908 and have one more thing to add, in Imu’s ‘Chamber of Flowers’ room it’s shown that Imu has a single sword. Why is it important? It’s potentially the same exact sword that was supposed to be the 20th embedded into the ground all those years ago, and only one person would ever have it: Lili
Yeah, that single sword in the flower room is something I'm seeing many, _many_ people forget. It was the first thing I thought of when Cobra started talking about how all the swords were placed in front of the throne to ceremoniously show how no one would sit on it, yet there were only 19 when there should be 20 - I'm thinking, "Wait a sec, there's a 20th sword in Imu's room". It also feels kinda obvious Imu isn't a real name. I mean, it's freakin' umi (the Japanese word for "sea/ocean") backwards. If that doesn't scream "I'm hiding something", I don't know what else would.
Glad to hear you’re reading the way of kings! I don’t know but I’m sure at least some people would love to hear you talk about various fantasy books with the same passion you have in your other videos :D
Whether or not Im is Lili, this soft confirms that Im has indeed existed since the Void Century! So either Im is a long lived race or the Immortal surgery was performed on them...
I think there's something interesting I want to point out here, it seems to me like many celestial dragons are actually innately strong and that's why they were able to win against the powerful ancient kingdom during the void century, a kingdom more advanced than our real life civilization if it actually was anything like Egghead. The first example is looking at how someone as lazy and weak as Charlos survived several hits, and if he did survive the attacks from this chapter then that's also a comical way to prove it. The second example are those celestial dragons that lived a life in the "lower realm", Doflamingo, Corazon and possibly Shanks (if he's a confirmed C.D. that is), they are among the top tier in terms of power in the world. Also, it's heavily implied that the Gorosei and Imu are strong, and so are the Holy Knights... it always struck me as weird that 20 primitive nations could win against a futuristic one, it's like sending medieval armies to fight against modern USA, Russia, etc., it would be suicide, so they had to compensate somehow, and one way would be having powerful individuals.
Devil fruits existed so it’s not like primitive tribes vs USA,Russia …etc. it would be magical humans vs us in actual fact. Because devils fruits are quite the trump card. Just imagine law in our world against an army and also has haki…
The founding 20 kings were strong as they were literally kings with kingdom , but when they moved to marie joa and by each passing years they had nothing to do and their children became weak and lazy as they enjoyed all the luxuries never experienced pain , as charlos said nobody hit him , they grew weaker by each generation but there would be some strong ones as they know how to fight and even did some training to protect themselves as the holy knights
i love how we immediately take as a fact that Imu's identity wont be revealed before this chapter gets animated with Imu's voice, we all know that Oda loves to take his time XD
Interesting thing that lili confirms is that Cobra married into the nefetari family and isnt nefetari by blood and he still had the balls to ask the goresei this.
@@demonicpain10 he's saying that because Vivi and Titi (Vivi's mom) seem to look like Lily, they're probably related that way, which would mean Vivi is related to Lily through Titi, and therefore Titi was the one with Nefeltari blood, and not Cobra.
Well, the idea behind the void century is that the WG did something so horrific and heinous that if anyone were to learn of their actions, they would lose the support of their people.
The WG did not exist 800 years ago. The 20 noble family had founded it. Most likly they were actually a group of bad guys who wanted to rule the world and they succeeded, so they rewrote history like they were the good guys.
This is the most hype moment this year for one piece. I pray we don't switch over back to the crew next chapter. Knowing this new Oda, we probably won't go back (I'm running out of copium)
To be honest we all knew Cobra was going to bite the dust here... But I get the feeling Imu walking in and doing that just made it clear there wouldn't be any subtlety about it. For all we know the Gorozei could've just keep going I circles until Cobra got tired and left. They would still kill him, he knows too much... but maybe they could've tried a more discreet approach to make it seem like a natural cause, thus keeping the overall order of events... But Imu heard everything and decided to waltz in like that, revealing itself and making it clear that Imu is the one true ruler and everything Cobra knows is far from the whole truth. Imu was basically saying "You're dying right here. Right now. There's no other way and I felt like having the main seat"... If anything the precense of the Revolutionary Army ended up helping the world Government too... They had an easy scapegoat ready to be used.
Regarding the Soot Soot fruit, Soot is mainly powdery carbon formed from unburnt organic matter. Animals are also organic matter. So maybe Karasu can mimic the actions of dead burnt animals somehow. So far we've seen just crows but who knows he can create other animals with his soot as well
I think charlos is the most violent death we’ve had in one piece, not only having him smushed but showing the body, it feels more like something you’d see in chainsaw man
Unfortunately, we know that Charlos is not dead. A bunch of chapters ago before Kisaru left with Saturn to Egghead, he was talking with Akainu about the “attempted murder of Charlos”.
i honestly think if Imu didn't got into that room, Gorosei most likely gonna let Cobra go out alive. well, depend on what queen Lili's letter is about.
Day 10:In honor of the deceased Vice Admiral T-Bone, you should do a video on what if each member of the straw hat WAS A MARINE, up to current storyline. I love the fact that Luffy's "idgaf" attitude is rubbing off on his grand fleet subordinates. To be fair, Charloss deserves all the beating that he gets.
And Sai is supposed to be the civil one, LoL.
That's not beating anymore. It's killing already. Not that I'm complaining though
That just proves that they are worthy of being a member of the strawhat grand fleet
They were already pretty wild
something that i thought of is that sai and leo are part of the straw hat grand fleet. we saw what happened what would happen if someone attacked a celestial dragon in sabaody. let’s say sai and leo end up killing charlos. how will the government respond to that news and to the straw hats opposed to just attacking a celestial dragon?
I also thought it was a little weird that out of all of the people Vivi was with Morgan’s. That idea with the letter I think is genius
Given the World Government's track record, I don't think having his subordinates stand outside the audience chamber really protects them from repercussions if he demonstrates knowledge he can be killed for.
"Well we killed Cobra. Do you think he told his guards?"
"I dunno. We should kill them anyway. To be sure."
"And the rest of his entourage."
"Come to think of it. He could have told anyone in Alabaster."
"I think he spoke to the cheesemonger while he was here. I'll have the man's family purged."
Deff agree with you.
Charloss>>>imu
There is another character that may not be the strongest but have insane amount of durability that being Brownbeard, I put him and Charlos in the same category. That said, I'm pretty sure Charlos is still alive only to be punched into oblivion by post ts luffy
I'm actually pretty sure that the Celestial Dragons probably undergo experimental procedures for longevity and probably endurance, giving how they are even scared of breathing the air of the common people.
So what you're saying is that he could withstand a lot of torture...

Cobra is a CD and treated has such by them, all CD knew about the D clan and his info is from old books that they let them keep knowing full well he might reveal it in news. So, everything but the letter is no big deal nor is asking about this. Imu is the big deal though.

I feel like if there's one singular thing that a Celestial Dragon isn't allowed to do, it'd be that they're not allowed to kidnap and enslave royal family members who attend the Reverie. Like, even if Charloss succeeded here, they'd probably make him give her back. You know, the rest of the world is fair game, but we kind of depend on the kings for our existence, and if we can't guarantee their safety in our own home, not only would they stop coming, but they'll probably turn against us out of self-preservation. that sword stuck on the ground of the flower room is probably Lili's sword that she was supposed to place by the throne.

Could Im be somehow shortened from Imhotep? Imhotep was a high priest of the Egyptian sun god. He had a mysterious cult-like following that persisted long after his death.
@@Iqnacio. Lili in the flashback looked exactly like Imu...
My One Piece Basketball Team:
(Note: for consistency purposes, no one over 20’ was chosen so as to not have mobility issues on an NBA size rim and court (ie. no Kaido or Whitebeard))
PG: Monkey D.
Tekking doing these faster and faster each chapter
A nice detail I noticed of the Throne: all the swords are different. Like a katana, a claymore, a broadsword etc.
Maybe the one piece universe is our world in the far future.
Not gonna lie, when I first read that queen Lili penned down a letter about the D clan for the following generations, I literally thought that he meant that she just wrote down the LETTER “D” in a piece if paper and passed it on. Only after like 5 minutes I understood what he meant 😅
It was such good D that she passed on the tale through the generations
It's not known what's in the letter, Matt said what if it's the meaning of the D? Tho
My theory is Lily was a traitor from the void century she betrayed joy boy his wife Hera even backstabbed her brother!!! She traveled to the future with lady toki but instead of helping bring the dawn, she black-mailed the world government by threatening to tell where the ancient weapons are!!!
@@randomcatname7792 Lmao

You’re literally the best reviewer on RUclips been watching since early bleach ❤
glad you are reading the way of kings, it is amazing. a review when you're done would be awesome.
That’s gonna be “big news” if Vivi has that letter with her
Imagine Robin just reads about the will of d in the fucking papers. That'd be hilarious.
We can add Toki/her family to the cast of void century flashback characters
don't forget toki
It's like Blackbeard swap with Vivi with the the Op op fruit
gotta love when youtube has me unsubbed, when ive been subbed for half a decade
great review as always tekking
The moment that Imu sat on the Empty Throne was the moment that Cobra's fate was sealed.
my only problem with lili being Imu is what point does the letter hold at that point? like why would Lili leave a message to be passed down if they were going to just end up ruling the world?
Personally I'm hoping it's a giant deez nuts joke but it won't be
Lily must have changed, either by an accident or by force and the letter was written when she was 'good' and then the accident or fate happened.
Because lili was intending to dissappear and rule from the shadows, only the gorosei were supposed to ever know of her existence, so that letter might be a red herring she wrote
I want to know how Doflamingo factors into this. I feel like he knows things about this situation with Lili and Im.
He knows at least as much as all celestial dragons. And we don't even know how much they know. Are all celestials aware of Im? That's unclear.
@@Yodah97 I think Doffy knows about Im from some underworld connections. He's the Joker of One Piece. He knows the secrets but wants to watch the world burn for the thrill of it.
I assumed the room is Im's quarters. The guard gets away with it when Im just isn't there (or maybe the Gorosei summons them). But its very rare. But yeah, I assume the guards describe anyone who finds 'that room' as having 'disappeared'
I'm so happy with Sai and Leo and I love how Mjosgard was like absolutely, go ahead, I think that all the Celestial Dragons hate Charlos he's a walking embarrassment
As someone on reddit suggested, it's going to be a pica voice.
And that's how cobra dies, laughing.

Could you imagine if Karasu is an example of what happens if a logia min maxes in observation haki or something?
Karasu and Sabo make a deadly combo. Fire makes Soot after all and so Sabo's attacks gives Karasu more soot to play with.
Well also Karasu can just make limitless soot, but I do agree with the combo potential
@@andrewdevita629 Nope, there is always a limit, because a DF power uses a persons stamina. That is why elemental advantages exist, Crocodile is strongest in a desert, because he does not need to make sand there.
@@zigazdovc6175 could you give me a source where Logias need stamina to create their element? Iirc the main stamina based fruits where that's specifically mentioned is Laws Rooms and Marcos regeneration
@@andrewdevita629 All DFs use stamina to some extent, that is like the most known fact of DF Powers. Go read the manga for the source lol. Not my problem you are not paying attention.
@@zigazdovc6175 I don't think that's true. Outside of the general "stamina cost" of existing, and willing things to happen, I don't think all DF powers costs stamina to activate or use. Logias can effortlessly produce their element, crocodiles moisture hand always works, Brook is a skeleton with no extra effort, big mom doesn't need to maintain homies at all times. It doesn't drain Zoans to be in any of the three forms, they just can chill indefinitely in the form they choose. The only two examples of Zoans that disprove this are G5 and Marcos phoenix recovery. I don't think your take is fully accurate, sorry.
Edit: Crocodile is strongest in the desert because of the lack of moisture, not because he doesn't have to make sand
Alot of people thinking Imu is Lily. Oda does tend to lead the reader in one direction, then flip it hard at the last second. I would expect the same thing here. Another thought, the picture of "Vivi" that Imu is holding is most likely a picture of Lili.
I cannot believe Imu actually said a word. AN AUDIBLE WORD!
Fan theory - Charlos has the 'real' rubber-rubber fruit and he has used it to survive countless beatings through his life. He has 0 attack power he is just really 'squishy' for a human.
Imu speaking gives me the shivers. And God, Cobra really dug his own grave didn't he?
Yep
Same. I was like 😮😮😮
I knew it was gonna happen because why else would Cobra need to be killed/silenced, but it still is 😮😮😮😮
@@Days-ru8jh Right? Obviously we all know what happened but the fact that he dug his own grave was stunning.
Well. He gonna die anyway. Better die knowing everything than die without knowing anything
If there is a god in One Piece (which is honestly Oda in this case), he is keeping Charlos alive to have him suffer. And Oda is thriving from it
I mean, there are indeed gods in canon
Probably like shadow clones from naruto
Hey man, finally tool your advice and I'm reading Mashle. I'm surprised that there hasn't been a Mashle vs Saitama debate.
21:44 i think that the idea was to remove any trace of old history of the celestial Dragons, so the people saw them as eternal gods that always lived on marijoise and not Kings of random kingdoms
Cobra coming in clutch with the massive balls to ask them the real question, i really wish they would just tell him before killing him , so we could know as well lol
Sai mvp. In his short screentime in the manga
He's become leader of the navi. Gained his dragon drill. Both beat a doffy family member and married another one and now kicked charloss.
King Cobra asks the Gorosei “What does the D stands for?” And suddenly music starts playing in the throne room: “Dumb ways to die”
My biggest reason as to why Imu isn’t lily is the letter about D. It wouldn’t make sense fore her to leave that letter and then become evil
Oda is just lore dropping like crazy lately and I love it. I do think Lili is Imu
Yeah, I think imu is Lili. The way how it came out, it makes sense, while cobra was there.
That is the obvious idea which makes me doubt it a bit
@@fish3977but would also tie in the “obsession” with Vivi.
@@fish3977 to me it just makes sense with Imu using the laser weapon and we know one of the ancient weapons was once on Alabasta. Plus I think this would be an amazing way of bringing Vivi back into the main story of her ancestor was the ruler of the world and also killed her dad. But I do agree that it’s obvious and Oda is anything but that
If imu voice is a woman voice in the anime i’ll support this theory
That thing of erasing history of the previous royal families made me say; "OMG Doffy used Sugar to turn disidents and other people into toys and not only that, the people turn into toys were 'erased' from peoples memories!"
This makes me want to stick more to the Imu is from 800+ years ago theory.
The Gorosei knew jackshit (or probably kept it hidden) then Imu just barges in and acts like he/she knows information from the void century.
It would make more sense for him/her to either be immortal and went through the events firsthand,
OR
There are information that even the Gorosei are not given access to.
That's awesome that you are reading the Stormlight Archive. Such amazing books! You should post updates on your reading.
Cobra: What's the meaning of D?
Gorosei: "DEATH"
And kills him.
Tbf though so would Sanjuan Wolf’s fruit. He’s big enough to block any shots and to simply drop the ball into the other net.
@@RubbrDukki sanjuan wolf would end the game by being there
Law for offense, barto for defense, and King can swap back and fourth
Any Giant would be pretty op
Why Teach Know Immortal Operation ?
Imu also has some sort of interest in Vivi because in chapter 908 Vivi is the only poster Imu didn’t destroy or cut, so they definitely have some sort of interest in her
Ok I looked at chapter 908 and have one more thing to add, in Imu’s ‘Chamber of Flowers’ room it’s shown that Imu has a single sword. Why is it important? It’s potentially the same exact sword that was supposed to be the 20th embedded into the ground all those years ago, and only one person would ever have it: Lili
Yep, plus the slender figure and the fact that Imu has a dress like drag going on behind him/her which is usually for women's clothing
So glad to hear you are starting stormlight!!! Soo good
Whether or not Im is Lili, this soft confirms that Im has indeed existed since the Void Century! So either Im is a long lived race or the Immortal surgery was performed on them...
It was one of the theories that I think most people accepted as fact but yes it was nice to confirm it here.
People in One Piece is more harder to kill or die than People in real life. Oda said it in SBS
@@HapPawhere there's harder to kill and then there's surviving your head being caved in like a pancake
Where in the world do you take that from? That was stated nowhere
He wouldn’t be king, if he married into the Nefertati family, he‘d be consort only, or regent until Vivi took the reigns
Or royalty incest things. But I doubt that's a thing in One Piece. That or Cobra just married someone who looked like his ancestor.
@@demonicpain10 he's saying that because Vivi and Titi (Vivi's mom) seem to look like Lily, they're probably related that way, which would mean Vivi is related to Lily through Titi, and therefore Titi was the one with Nefeltari blood, and not Cobra.

I get the feeling that the WG wasn't "evil" or corrupt from the start but then over the 800 years they became the way we know it now.
Well, the idea behind the void century is that the WG did something so horrific and heinous that if anyone were to learn of their actions, they would lose the support of their people.
@@raccoonwizard oh right forgot about that.
@@raccoonwizard Yep. And there is the whole idea of the Dawn. The point being that WG rule is so bad that it can be considered a long night.

Its Rulers are Evil

So far we've seen just crows but who knows he can create other animals with his soot as well
I think charlos is the most violent death we’ve had in one piece, not only having him smushed but showing the body, it feels more like something you’d see in chainsaw man
He still got off too easily
Unfortunately, we know that Charlos is not dead. A bunch of chapters ago before Kisaru left with Saturn to Egghead, he was talking with Akainu about the “attempted murder of Charlos”.
He's not dead though
Kobra really was speedrunning through those death flags
LOL, like how the Goresei was just silent like " Yep, you dead"
i honestly think if Imu didn't got into that room, Gorosei most likely gonna let Cobra go out alive.
well, depend on what queen Lili's letter is about.
Gorosei will let him alive because Garp & Sengoku knew about D but they never kill them but Imu came, so it's 100% they will kill cobra
Day 10:In honor of the deceased Vice Admiral T-Bone, you should do a video on what if each member of the straw hat WAS A MARINE, up to current storyline.
