  • I recently presented a recital in St Catherines, Ontario (Canada) with the wonderful organist Andrew Henderson.
It was a special time in a beautiful hall (Knox Presbyterian Church) with sympathetic acoustics and an a responsive, appreciative audience.
Our concert was also an informal CD release performance. We played a number of works from our soon-to-be released CD “of Light and Solace” (music for organ and saxophone) as well as original music by Canadian composer Bedard.
I played only soprano saxophone and connosax; an unusual combination that proved quite effective.
The video samples excerpts of the concert. Except for the modernism (and multiphonics!) of the Calvin Hampton "Variations on Amazing Grace" there is nothing fast or contemporary here; just music simply revealing, contemplative, searching…
The order in the video: Bedard, Lamproye, Lioncourt, Welch, Hampton
