020 🇯🇵 Japan Trip - Tokyo - Day 1 to 5

Join us on an unforgettable adventure as our family embarks on our first five days in Japan! From the breathtaking flight across the globe to our arrival in Tokyo, every moment was filled with excitement and wonder.
On Day 1, we immersed ourselves in the beauty of Tokyo's eastern side, visiting the serene Prince Sakura Shinagawa Japanese Garden, where we marveled at the enchanting cherry blossoms and explored the Zen garden. Boris even discovered a fascinating plant identification app, PictureThis, making our garden experience even more educational and enjoyable.
Next, we ventured to the iconic Meiji Shrine, a significant Imperial Shinto Shrine that represents Japan's modern transformation. Witnessing the majestic torii gate and encountering sake barrels left Boris in awe, and he made a heartfelt wish that he sealed in a shrine box. Our culinary exploration took us to Takeshita Street, where we savored delicious treats like strawberry ice cream and discovered the convenience and variety of Japanese supermarkets. The unexpected sighting of the Pokémon Center in Shibuya made Boris' day, as he got his very own Gengar-themed poké ball. And of course, the ultimate highlight was spending quality time at Dog Heart, where Boris took a lovely Beagle named Emy for an unforgettable walk in Yoyogi Park.
Day 2 was dedicated to the magic of DisneySea. Overcoming jet lag, we embarked on an adventure-filled day at the renowned theme park. From savoring delectable Mikey Mouse castella cake in the Mediterranean Harbor to riding the DisneySea electric railway and exploring Mermaid Lagoon, we experienced the enchantment of this captivating world. Journeying to the Mysterious Island, we braved the thrilling "Journey to the Center of the Earth" ride, making memories that will last a lifetime.
Continuing our Tokyo exploration on Day 3, we found ourselves immersed in the cultural richness of Asakusa. The Senso-ji Buddhist Temple left us in awe, with its vibrant streets, delicious food, and ornate architecture. Boris embraced his inner ninja at the Ninja Café, where he mastered the art of the katana, shuriken throwing, and enjoyed a traditional tea ceremony. Sumida Park provided a serene retreat, where we indulged in delectable dishes from 7Eleven amidst the stunning cherry blossoms. The day ended on a high note at Red Tokyo Tower, Japan's largest VR park, where Boris unleashed his imagination and enjoyed thrilling virtual adventures.
Day 4 took us to the legendary Akihabara district, a haven for tech enthusiasts and toy collectors. Exploring the Yodobashi superstore, we marveled at the vast array of electronics and toys, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of this unique neighborhood.
On our final day, we relaxed in Ueno Park, savoring matcha frappuccinos and indulging in a luxurious cake, surrounded by natural beauty. We then ventured to Shibuya, crossing the iconic Shibuya crossing and returning to the Pokémon Center for more exciting finds. Our journey wouldn't be complete without introducing our new plushie companion, Shawazza, who joined us on the next leg of our adventure.
