- 1 Month traveling Japan alone, discovering the beauty and excitement this incredible country has to offer!
This was my second time visiting Japan but first time completely by myself and outside of Tokyo. I was so thankful to meet new friends there.
I visited Kyoto, Shirakawa, Osaka, Kawazu (Shizuoka), Nara and of course many parts of Tokyo. This trip changed my life and helped me a lot with my anxiety. It was a huge awakening for me and I hope to inspire anyone, especially women, to travel to Japan - both with friends and by yourself. There is endless discovery around every corner!
Check out my blogs for more information about every location you see here! I just started it so new entries will be added.

Thank you for watching! ^__^
Spent 5 weeks there last summer from July to mid August. Went with a friend and traveled to Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, Hiroshima and Koyasan.
That trip came as a result of moving back home for a year, but it meant I finally had the money to make a trip I'd put off for 10 years.
If anybody is thinking of taking a trip to Japan then do it. Use Hostel World for loads of cheap and awesome hostels, get a JR railpass (£250) and the food is cheap. Flights were the most expensive thing, but I've not regretted spending £1 of it. Greatest place on earth and watching this video makes me want to get back even sooner.
Hi, I saw that video more than a year ago and it stucked in my mind all the time, because I could felt some magic of the country from that video. So i set a goal to myself to travel Japan by myself after I was done with the military. First I was sceptical, but it turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life. I cured my social anxiety and met so many people from all around the world to who I still have contact with. I have been to so many places, experienced so many things. Even went to Korea afterwards with a girl I met in a hostel in Kyoto. I want to thank you for sharing your experience with me which pushed me to my adventure.
Red Oh wow! Reading your comment absolutely made my day. I am so, so glad this video inspired you to go! It's wonderful to hear that it helped with your social anxiety... I am so very happy that you made the decision for yourself to go! Thank you for coming back and commenting. Many blessings to you!
I'm also leaving for japan solo, in just a few days! so excited!
did you go? How was it? Want to go again?
@@thebootywizard the world will never know
I am planning to travel to japan next month alone , and i am excited as hell but also nervous and i do too have anxiety issues , watching this makes me happy and calm thank you
+Shani Mesh Yay! That makes me so happy! You will have the time of your life and there is no better place to work through anxiety than beautiful, serene and safe Japan! Please let me know if you have any questions at all :D
The coolest part of this video for me is that you stayed @traditional style house of Shirakawa-go. That must be some experience. In the super quiet cold winter night, in the old big wood house, there is nothing to do but breathing and feeling the existence of my own. I would love to experience that someday. Thanks for sharing!
Lovely video! Looking forward to your new videos. Japan is definitely one of my all time favorite countries.
I'm headed to Okinawa in 4 days to live there for a few years. Your video has me so stoked! I want to see it all!
10:00 I have a feeling there will be a lot of this going on....
This is probably my favourite video of someone travelling in Japan. Great music, nicely edited with some fantastic shots.
I'm hoping to travel a similar route to you next year, should be fun!
Really nice video! Got a good feel for what to expect around Japan from it and I may well end up going there alone so it's good to see travelling solo is not a big issue!
ようこそ日本へ!! 素晴らしい映像で日本を紹介してくれてありがとう!!
I love this video! I watch it all the time because it is so inspirational. I hope to have the same courage as you one day!
Thank you very much for sharing your memories with us, what a beautiful video. It looks like you had an amazing time. Wonderful
I'm Japanese. You had a lovely vacation in a lovely place.I love cherry blossoms(sakura) Many Japanese see sakura paintings as meaning, "Life is wonderful yet fleeting at the same time. But life is as such. Thank you for always loving Japan and Japanese.
I was impressed by your courage because young lady like you traveled alone in an unknown country.
Japan is one of the safest countries in the world.
And also, the very convenient device like GoPro was developed, so this kind of video is produced. Thanks to the technology.
I suppose that this kind of experience in Japan contributes your future.
Experience is much more useful than just reading books for your future life.
Nicely done :) Your editing and music made it magical. Thanks for sharing!
日本での一人旅を満喫されたようでよかったです。まだまだ素敵なところがたくさんありますので、いつかまた日本へ旅に来てくださいね。秋の日本は最高ですよ。
I'm so happy to have watched this! I am doing my solo 1month trip to Japan in April and am looking forward to it sooo much. Realizing how close the day of departure is, I have really been letting my anxiety take over lately. Watching your video has brought me back to being excited about this solo adventure! Can't wait to check out your blog!
ThatGirl SHAR How exciting!!! You're going to have the time of your life! I'm so excited for you 😄! Let me know how it goes! Do you plan on making videos?
Thank you~! I haven't decided whether or not I'm going to keep it strictly blog and instagram or RUclips or instagram. I will definitely let you know!
I am planning my first solo trip in July to Japan! I hope you have an amazing time ThatGirl SHAR!
You are a great cameraman! Thank you for introducing Japan beautifully. Welcom back ^__^. Chao! from Tokyo
お一人で旅されるとは、とても勇敢で素敵な方ですね。
This was really lovely to watch!! I also struggle with anxiety especially when it comes to being alone which is the main reason holding me back but this was really inspiring ;u;
I hope you decided to go. I struggled with such intense anxiety and depression while bicycling across New Zealand when I was 22 and 23, that it left me much, much too afraid to travel by myself. It also lead me on one of the most incredible journeys I could have asked for. Now at 27, I finally bought my second solo ticket abroad, to Japan. Im often terrified at the thought of leaving in 1.5 months, but I know that my anxiety and fear is something to be eased into, kindly accepted, and understood. If you have the opportunity, I really hope you can take it, those dark days in NZ were some of the most beautiful moments of my life, and I never regretted such wanderings.
Hey I really loved this video! I'm away to Japan in 7 days time and I am so excited, it seems like you really enjoyed your time there :)
Beautiful country and beautiful traveller. I will also do some solo traveling in Japan next spring, very excited and nervous..but in a good way. Thanks for sharing some of the moments of your trip.
Beautiful! I also checked your blog and found that Shirakawa-go was well described. You convinced me to visit there before I die.
A minor error I found was that Tatami was not made of rice straw. It was made of igusa straw.
Very nice places to visit especially Shirakawa-go. I'm Japanese and I haven't even visited there even though its famous spot. So I wish to travel there next time I visit Japan!! Thanks for the video for trip idea!
very good video and the end was perfect , the cat, the airplane and the tokyo tower, very nice
Going to japan for at least 1 year, thanks for the inspiration
I'm planning to go next year when I get approval from my work. In june for like 10 days or more. I was kinda affraid to go on my own, but now I am forsure, I will go! thanks for the video :D
Hey, thanks for this video. I feel like I visited Japan for 15 minutes. This was really cool. I'd like to know more about the culture, like the tea ceremony, and maybe hear people speak, have conversations?
Great video! I really enjoyed it. I just came back from Japan last week with my brother and I am planning to go back there again within the next 6 months by myself. It will be my first time travelling alone and I am a bit worried. I was wondering how did you feel traveling alone? Did you feel lonely and did you find that you get to see more places while travelling alone? What do you think would be the best thing about travelling alone compared travelling with someone? It would be great if you could give some feedback as I am really interested. Thanks.
Your video inspired me to solo travel to Japan as well. I just got back, it was only for a week but it was life changing
What an inspiration! I'll be going to Japan to by next month. I'm thinking to do this video blog. It's great to have memories from your travels. =)

I really enjoyed this very much, and Japan means so much to me, but I felt like you just pulled the viewer right in,
the music, sights, and those little people moments, they always stay with us, right, nice job here.
I miss japan, such a great place! Great video, i have one also on my channel!
Back there in october - november!
You should've continued making videos.. this one really inspired my soul.

+LuckyCatTackle Thank you so much! I appreciate your sweet comments! :D Wow, the view from Mt Shirataki looks incredible! And in November? How stunning it will be! Have an amazing time!
Loved your video, darling. Hope you are feeling better now about your anxiety, I feel this way sometimes and traveling helps me a lot. High expectations for mine, in about 2 months. Have good week :) o/
Your video is an inspiration! From the look of it, you've captured many seasons in Japan. Did you go in the Springtime? I'm looking into seeing Japan in December (only time off I have this year) also as a solo female traveler. I'm a little put off realizing the short days would mean sunsets around 4:30pm. I've heard mixed accounts on safety. Your thoughts are appreciated!
Not sure the reason why, your video gave me another point view, seems something new light of the sights where we are familiar with. How would you like to come here in summer or spring or autumn again? Maybe you can see another views here. I'm looking forward to see your video someday soon. Thank you so much indeed from Japan.
Great video, the music fit well. Where was your favourite place? We are going to Japan next week so any tips would be great :)
+TravelBeans Thank you so much! Hmmm... It is so hard to say! I think the overnight experience at Shirakawa-go would be my favorite memory. It is such a beautiful and interesting place! Where will you be traveling in Japan? If I were there now, I would love to see the beautiful fall leaves! Have an amazing trip!
TravelBeans Oh wow that is so exciting! That sounds like the most amazing trip. How were you able to set up work at the hostel? So cool.
Amazing. My friends are not interested in Japan like me, I guess I'm going alone 😊
また是非、日本に戻って来て下さいね!秋の京都は素晴らしいですよ!
Great video!! I miss snow really

- Awesome! Looks like it would have been a blast!
What was your favorite part?
+Edges Of Earth Thank you! :D Its hard to choose but I think staying at the minshuku in Shirakawago was my favorite experience! I also really loved going to Kawazu for the cherry blossoms. Shizuoka was a really cool area! I wish I could have explored it more. :)
- I have heard of the cherry blossoms, and seen photos - very cool!
oh another solo traveller! hard to find like minded people these days so end up travelling alone :/ great video ^_^
I want to go solo traveling soon bad. It must be done.
Great video!
Can I ask a couple questions please?1. The first person views, how was your camera mounted or held?2. I'm planning on doing a GoPro diary in Japan in May, were there any negative reactions to having a camera mounted/in hand at all times? Thanks heaps :)
I'm a 37 year old guy and planning to go to tokyo on my own next month. Though I'v been there before, I have never travelled solo. Your video gave me the courage to do it, thank you! 👊🏻❤️ didn't you ever feel lonely though?
Amazing camera work, editing, and the music!
you're really pretty, I love your video and the music. I'm going in august this year by myself, can't wait!
same :D what are your plans ?
well done, u do a great job! since 0:00 that bgm look great and match with the video
dope video! so much scenery. I have 3 questions tho , 1.) what area u stayed in @10:22 2.)did u use some special wide angle lens throughout the video? 3.) who's playing in the background music? love it!
I love this video and it's entirety. If you don't mind me asking, what GoPro do you use and what are your exact settings? I have the Hero4 Silver and I'm taking a trip to Japan in this coming May, and I want my footage to look as crisp and clean as yours. Thank you :)
Thankyou for creating this video I cannot wait to go by myself. :D
Great video! can you list the music you used? Thanks!
Thank you!! The music is listed at the end! :D
Hey I loved your video!! I'm planning on going to Japan Tokyo and Kyoto alone since no once else of my surroundings is available. Did you use airbnb or one night stays in hotels? Thanks and keep it up!
日本に来てくれてありがとうございます。
また遊びに来て下さいね。楽しんでくれて良かったです。
Try discover Japan Cities by Cycling..You can find bike rentals easy...the best way to know the unknowing part of the Cities...I m from Osaka...
You use your GoPro creatively and the music is very nice! I won a GoPro in a contest and don't know what to do with it ? :-)
Thank you for coming to Japan.
Also Come to play.
Nice travel video! Those deers at 5:11 seem to be really hungry!
Nice video, you are so cute too. Some text describing the location would have been awesome but I really enjoyed watching it.
Cool video. I'm headed there soon in April.
I like your video and the music backgrounds! This makes me want to go there, too! Wow! You were courageous to go there alone! Because I am a woman who goes alone everywhere, I want to try to go there alone, too, so I want to ask you if it wasn't too difficult to be there alone? Weren't you a little lost? Do you know Japanese language to communicate with them when you had some difficulties? ^_^
+Silv L. Its awesome that you are a woman who travels alone! I really admire and enjoy solo travel. You could go to Japan and enjoy yourself very much without any knowledge of the language! It is very easy to get around and everyone is so friendly. Sometimes it was a little scary being alone in the places that were far from Tokyo but in the end I made it through! If you plan a lot ahead of time you will have no problem ^_^ I do not speak Japanese but I did learn katakana and hiragana before going so it could help me to read a few things.
+Toys Travel Japan - Excellent video, well done! :)
Great clip! Wish i had the cash to have a trip around japan...well at least I pay way less and have extremely fast internet so i can experience everything in full HD instantly..... somehow that doesn't make me feel better
Great video you put together. My only wish is that you would have named the locations of where you were at. :)
i also have terrible anxiety esp in social situation, do you think traveling alone will help me overcome anxiety attacks? Thank you for posting this, really inspiring :) plus your taste in music is 👏🏻👏🏻
+micxreyes I've watched several vlogs from people that are currently residing in Japan, and they have claimed that they are feeling way safer in Japan than in their own country, even at night. Also, japanese are very clean, polite and punctual people. In my opinion, it should be of help.
P.S.: I didn't travel to Japan, so I'm sorry if you expected and answer directly by someone who did.
P.S2: Sorry for my english, it's not my native language.
I have bad anxiety too and I'm having a really hard time deciding if I should go or nah if I will regret or not cause I'm still 18 and my income are from those part time jobs so I will be on a super cheap budget- I booked my accommodation and now I'm waiting for the plane tickets I really hope everything will be okay when I'm at there later.
I love Japan!!! Greeting from Malaysia
I'm off to Japan next week for a month on my own so it's nice to see that you had an amazing time doing the same! ^w^
Got any lat-minute advice for me, or must-visit places? =)
Len K Oh wow how cool! Where do you plan on visiting? How exciting! ^o^

Nice video!! I'm planning a trip to Japan from Europe, to head out by the end of the month. This has been very inspiring and I hope I can also find what I am looking for there..

Yay! Have a wonderful time!! ^___^ Thank you so much for the kind comments! The location at 6:37 is Dotonbori in Osaka :D!
I love this video .It was felt like something from which usual Japan is different.
thank you.
(Was the meaning of the word transmitted? I'm a little worried whether misunderstanding isn't invented. I'm poor at English, I'm sorry.)
From Japan Fukuoka
This video is awesome. Thanks.
woww..very nice video..keep it up..
Awesome video.
Wow super video 😀😀😀🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷
Hey! I was just wondering what type of GoPro you use? I am seriously thinking of investing in one...I've been traveling quite often, and at this point, only have a crappy old digital camera to film with. It's also totally incapable of filming in the dark. ;( Doesn't appear you have that problem. Thanks!
Very pleasant ambience : -)
I love this video! What is the music at 6:37?!
Love the video! If you have more videos that would be awesome :)
