  • This video features Gary's American Flyer set #20540 Missouri Pacific freight train from 1959 that he purchased in February. The locomotives are in great condition and had very little run time if any. The freight cars in this set feature three new cars for 1959. The C&EI hopper, Bakers Chocolate tank car and Northern Pacific "Pig Palace" stock car.
The locomotives are the 21922 and 21922-1 with the bell ringer.
We also featured these locomotives pulling Gary's set of four 1958 Missouri Pacific passenger coaches he purchased several years ago. These coaches came from an estate sale. Unfortunately the sellers had separated the 21920 and 21920-1 locomotives from the coaches and another person purchased them.
    Thank you for watching.

      Thank you.
Gary really did well on this purchase.
He also got the trailer unloading accessory and flat car with the set. Platform is missing the ramps and crank. No trailers on the flatcar. All those parts are available though.
I showed him your video yesterday operating yours.

@@willamettevalleyAFtrainsI think I have seen the parts listed at Portlines and Little Steamers. I was lucky to find mine with everything plus the box. My Grandchildren have a lot of fun with the piggy back loader and the other accessories. I have found the trailers load onto the flat car better with the back (flat) end of the trailers towards the front of the loader. I have an earlier video where I had them load with the round end towards the front of the loader, but It wasn't as consistent loading them on the flat car.

That's a beautiful locomotive set. A.C.Gilbert made, or Flyonel?

Thank you. Those are original 1959 locomotives and freight cars. The passenger cars are original 1958 coaches.

Original is best. A.C.Gilbert made some beautiful trains. As a young teen I used to go to the employee store. At one point, they were the largest employer in New Haven.

Those are two very nice consists to run with two beautiful locomotives. I think the "Pig Palace" gets my vote for the best piece of rolling stock here.
That is a wonderful collection of vehicles track side.
Has any more progress been made in creating the hobo boxcar?
    Thank you for sharing.

Gary and I have both been looking for the hobo's around a campfire at the train shows and a man to use on the operating arm. Looks like an on line search is needed.
