This was like a scene from Poldark- so fun!! Even grown ups like to play pretend! ☺️I think I remarked this before, but your tavern inspired me to create my own tavern scene in my entryway- everyone just loves it! I just love your meeting room too! 😍
Well ladies, once again you have charmed us with setting up the tavern and enjoying a pretend meal there. Bread and more bread!!! Can't you see hunks of bread being used to soak up the juices from the meat or the broth in the soup? And what about the smell from the cooking hearth and the wood fire? Anne, your beehive bake oven is a dream to bake in and the hearth fireplace draws quite well. One more little tidbit, hard wood for the fireplace for a longer fire and soft wood for the bake oven to burn hot and fast to get it heated up. Well done you two, what fun and a great visual.
Taverns had a fireplace in them but it was generally used for heat and light. The adjoining kitchen, usually behind the tavern room, was where the actual cooking was done. There would be a pass-through door, sometimes right into the "bar" room, where the food would be served forth when someone took it from the counter and brought it to the customer. The tavern owner would not have as many items in the tavern room as you indicate because there was theft back then just like there is now. Many taverns stored their hard liquor in the basement, where it was cooler and safe.
What color are your tan walls and how did you make them look old? I have been looking for the perfect color for a bedroom, I think I found it. I love your home and your pub. Thank you for this wonderful educational series. Alice is such a great narrator. I hope you post more educational videos. Thank you and I hope you all have a wonderful holiday, its coming quickly.
@@debraadamsadams6955 thank you! Happy holidays to you too! Actually I mixed the color… it’s one of the Ben Moore Golds but then I put some black bean soup in it to dull it a bit.

Probably lowering the chandelier over the tavern table would be a smart thing or you would be burning the ceiling lol

The women where treated a lot different than we are today. So glad to be living in 2024 instead of those days.
