@NullLex00 if a wild Monster appear didn't specify that it's original level has to be level 10 or lower, You could use something like cost down to summon her that way
You wanna know the weirdest part about Iron Chain Coil? It was a Level 4 in the anime; meaning they changed its Level so it and Repairman wouldn't become a Level 8 Synchro Engine, but didn't make it Level 2 so they could be used to summon their own Dragon!
@@humantwister9209 It's kind of a shame because the idea of not attacking to instead mill cards and deal damage per card milled is a fun alternate win con, if you can lockdown the board well enough.
Mine was Peten the Dark Clown. Always thought that you can just summon another Peten for free from the deck whenever you use one as tributed fodder or for a Synchro summon in the playground. It was only until I play Duel Links that I realized it doesn't work like that
Yubel from Yu-Gi-Oh Online back in the days. I always was confused why it being tributed as a cost meant it didn't transform. My disappointment was immeasurable.
I like how level four monsters have been the most powerful and most played ones since the beginning of the game. At the start it was for the high stats on a single summon, then it was for the actual effects, then for the "broken" tuners, then for rank 4s. And obviously for all the good effects regardless of their uses in bringing out extra deck monsters.
Seeing Iron Chain Coil appear made me flashback to that duel between Yusei and Chief Armstrong, and the Chief's deck was really shit, even with Repairman. But because of the unfair restrictions that were put on having decks in the facility, he pretty much ran the whole duel to the end. Looking back at it now, Blasting The Ruins wouldn't be a good card as you have to trash 3/4 of your deck just to deal 3,000 to your opponent.
To be fair, if the real life card had an equivalent effect to the anime instead of the exact effect, then it would deal 6000 damage(to keep the effect at 75% of the opponent's starting LP). And I'm sure a 6k burn card would absolutely have people make decks around it.
Totally agree, although it should be done with the caveat that the archetype should have a minimal number of cards. Otherwise you get archetypes like La Jinn with only 2 cards in it
Kochi's effect basically never came up because Shura was the only relevant way to special summon the card in black wings and Shura negated the effect any way lol.
Fun fact: dark tinker's effect un the anime is that: when it is sent to the graveyard, You get to draw 1 Card, and it doesnt have to be by synchro summon
@@toumabyakuya Honestly, Bubbleman is already an incredibly good card in Hero decks, and I'm pretty sure if he was an instant Pot of Greed on legs, he'd be pretty darn busted.
@@misterbadguy7325 Nah, I don't think he would be that good, even then. He barely has any stats, has a lot of competition when it comes to HERO Deck functionality and can barely be used in any other deck.
"Look at the top card of your deck, and return it to the top or bottom of your deck" is just a keyword in Magic the Gathering (That effect would be called "scry 1".), and it's usually just a throw-in effect for a lot of cards. But MTG's draw economy isn't as important as YGO's, so it's a little more useful there, since there's more card draw, and it can help you mitigate mana screw and mana flood.
Not only that, but in the duelist Pack Crow, there was a help card that said you could special Kochi by an effect who negates it's effect, and still use it to synchro.

There is an important distinction regarding "missing the timing" that I'm in a bit of disbelief of, in terms of the explanation. It is when the "when" is followed by "you can" that it can miss the timing. "When" that is NOT followed by "you can" is a mandatory effect resolution that will NOT miss the timing.
As a Yusei fan, I regrettably agree on #1 spot. The struggles I went through to make that crappy card work on Yusei's decks on the Nintendo DS games were some of my worst memories ever in those game.
Majestic Dragon had a hidden effect in the anime where if you have it (by being a person chosen by the magical red dragon...), you can magically summon the card onto the top of your deck at basically any point during a duel (usually before you draw a card of course), and the card is NEVER drawn except with this effect so it can never become a garnet in hand. I think the Dark Sage card can trigger effect from the deck so it should be doable? If not, then maybe we could treat the second effect as an lingering effect and add it onto Majestic dragon's first shuffling effect, like "Once you shuflle this card back, you can choose to draw it during any of your future draw phase instead of your normal draw" or maybe even instead of shuffling the card back, the majestic dragon is just banished instead and you can choose to add it back to your hand at the cost of skipping your normal draw.
I remember that a while ago you did "top 10 Fusion monsters with dragon in its name that aren't actually dragons". Is it possible with Syncho monsters too?
I just got Debri Dragon in duel links yesterday, and I thought that it kinda sucked for a level 4 tuner, though it’s effect to special summon monsters with 500 attack or less can be used in any archetype and there’s a lot of combos you can pull off with this if your not intending to synchro summon with it.
Hello TheDuelLogs I am from México I love your videos. I have suggest for new tops. 1.- arquetypes/decks to one card to be really broken (example Buster Blader). 2.- Best indirecting support card, that are cards disigned to help one deck but used in anothers decks (magicians soul's supporting SPYRAL decks, ALL galaxy extra decks monsters supporting blue-eyes decks, trueking at dinosaours decks, etc.)
What about the normal monster tuners? Did you just choose to exclude them or is your logic that normal monster support renders them better than anything on the list? (If it's the latter, wouldn't Flamevell archer be better than some normal tuner monsters though?)
That one blackwing Ashura could special summon monsters in the deck with their effects negated by destroying a monster by battle. Not the best conditions but it's definitely plausible with Kalut and kochi would be able to be used as a tuner
Man, I was hoping Dark Tinker wouldn't be in this list despite being quite bad. I use it in my Summoned Skull deck in Duel Links entirely because it's a Level 2 Dark Fiend Tuner. Duel Links only has one other such card, that being D/D Ghost, and that thing only matters specifically in D/D decks, so Dark Tinker had to be there. That being said, I _might_ switch it to Krebons since the only reason why I want a Fiend tuner is to work with Archfiend Palabyrinth.
Mistral actually had a bit of use back in the day, because the BW main search card Black Whirlwind let you search a BW who's attack was LOWER than the one you just normal summoned. Since Mistral only has 100 atk, you could put one or two in your deck to make sure you had a search target if you only had weak monsters in your hand
This may be some personal bias, but I think you got koichi the daybreak incorrectly. It came out later in the synchro era in a duelist pack, and was a bad tuner for the reasons you mentioned, but was seeing competitive play for different reasons. It was a level 4 tuner that shura can bring out and extend for a rank 4 xyz play, which gave shura more utility than just level 7 synchro plays. It’s just that as the game was progressing to xyz, the archetype at the time was getting crept out of play.
I actually had a loophole to Kochi the Daybreak's effect. Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame has the ability to Special summon a Level 4 or lower "Blackwing" monster after destroying an opponent's monster in battle. However, the tradeoff is having that monster's effect negated. So on your Main Phase 2, you can instantly have a Level 8 Synchro just like that.
I honestly never thought about Tuners being able to be "bad". I just figured there were the tuners that can special summon themselves and are/will be banned because of Needlefiber, tuners that can special summon themselves that won't get banned because of Needlefiber, and everything else.
Interestingly, in my personal experience in Legacy of the Duelist, for some reason Iron Chain Coil's power boost stays in effect after it leaves the field in that game.
Not a list idea, but a video querying the evolution of Konami's decisions for card design, i.e. how formats evolved, how card effects evolved, how archtype desing has evolved and how the player base responded to it (in actual tournaments, and in online conversation) More so on the choices Konami made for card/archtype design. The good choices, the bad ones, and the reasoning behind them... Also, how players used inovation of their own to spice up formats... I guess something like "how we got from caveman-beatdown to special-negate-special-negate"
Majestic Dragon actually sees play in Duel Links believe it or not. The skill Majestic Light allows you to return a tuner from your hand to the deck and then you can special summon a Majestic Dragon from outside of your deck. It's typically used with Buster Blader and Where Arf Thou (occasionally sees some shenanigans in tribute decks but that's rare). It would probably be way better if link monsters were in Duel Links because it basically becomes a free special summon onto the field. Blue-Eyes is top tier and cheap so it's seen everywhere so buster blader sees more use and so does this skill.
What sucks about Synchro Majestic Dragons is that not only are there only three of them, but they are very had to summon. From my research, to which I didn't have to do much, you can use Star Siphon to Synchro Summon the S. Majestic Dragons. Like say, you somehow summon two Lvl. 3 Monsters then Synchro Summon a Lvl. 6 monster. Use the trap card Star Siphon, to summon a Siphon Token to switch the Lvls then summon a Lvl. 2 tuner to Synchro Summon Stardust or Red Archfiend. Then you have two powerful Synchro monsters. Though if the Lvl 6 monster just so happened to be a Warrior Synchro and even if your deck doesn't have a or any warrior cards, it'll be easy to fusion summon Dragon Knight Draco Equiste. Then once you get Majestic Dragon use can use the now Lvl 1 Synchro and Stardust or Red Archfiend to summon the S. Majestic Dragons. Or you can just wait until you Synchro Summon Stardust or Red Archfiend then use Star Siphon to switch the Lvls. Then summon Majestic Dragon then the S. Majestic Dragons.
As That One Guy That Plays One Weird Deck, I bring you my archetype's contribution to this list- Tsukahagi, the Poisonous Mayakashi. Level 2 EARTH/Zombie/Tuner/Effect 0 ATK / 2000 DEF You can only control 1 “"Tsukahagi, the Poisonous Mayakashi". If a "Mayakashi" monster(s) in your possession, except "Tsukahagi, the Poisonous Mayakashi", is destroyed by battle or an opponent's card effect, while this card is in the GY: You can Special Summon this card. You cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck the turn you activate this effect, except "Mayakashi" monsters. Even forgetting for the moment that Mayakashis have probably one of the best in-archetype tuners in the game, this guy is just awful. Either it eats your Normal Summon, gets brought out instead of a better card via searches, or it floats from the graveyard in response to something your OPPONENT does, and locks your Extra Deck in the process. Locking the Extra Deck is fairly normal for the archetype, but you're taking the worst kind of lock to add two levels to your Synchro ladder. I suppose he has a use to re-initiate the ladder if Dakki gets prematurely destroyed, but it's not hard to do that without him. I think he's worthy of a spot on this list, tbh. At least some of the cards saw play at some point. Tsukahagi didn't even see play in the only deck he can even be used in.
Hyper Synchron.I remember using card back of the synchro era.I thought was Hyper Synchron was banish itself from the GY,but only dragon type synchro is banish during the end phase.
Fortune Vision has a condition for a "lingering" effect to turn battle damage to zero it saved my ass a lot of times when Fortune Ladies were meta in duel links

The dark tinker always intrests me because in Magic the gathering they made this a real abilty for lots of cards and it's actually kinda good and works. Surprised they never made dark tinker's effect into a archetype and actually is sorta good. For sure a thing to be done in some custom cards in someway.
Unfortunately in YGO, effects lile these are very mediocre. A free special summon effect or simply drawing the card instead is much more useful than card peeking.

Konami: makes lingering, searcheable and/or generic floodgates.
Also Konami: No, LeVeL 4 TuNeRs ToO gOoD
Here is an idea for a list: top 10 terrible cards you thought were busted when you were a kid
Buster Blader equipped with Mist Body was my ultimate weapon when I was 8
Thanks for another good video. For future videos, what about a top 10 of the best additions to the ban, limited and/or semi-limited list?
This is probably one of my favorite zelda songs ever. Its so calming.
Do you think about the new Majestic Synchro Monster, Shooting Majestic Star Dragon (Shooting Savior Star Dragon in OCG)?
It’s good that majestic dragon is getting better support in the newest Stardust Dragon support.
The best thing Majestic Dragon does is bring out Sylvan Princessprite in Duel Links
I honestly never thought about Tuners being able to be "bad". I just figured there were the tuners that can special summon themselves and are/will be banned because of Needlefiber, tuners that can special summon themselves that won't get banned because of Needlefiber, and everything else.
I don’t even play YuGiOh but i find your videos really interesting.
This was a trip down memory lane for me as a casual player.
Interestingly, in my personal experience in Legacy of the Duelist, for some reason Iron Chain Coil's power boost stays in effect after it leaves the field in that game.
Maybe it's kinda until the end of the chain so if It's destroyed before resolution the effect doesn't go on
I’m surprised councilor lily wasn’t on here since she was on top ten worst retrains
Couldn't catch your 200k sub Q&A stream, still congrats 👍
Top 10 Best/Worst Cards That Easily Miss Timing
Inspired by the Gusto cards, which I kinda forgot about until seeing Gusto Falco on this list
Not a list idea, but a video querying the evolution of Konami's decisions for card design, i.e. how formats evolved, how card effects evolved, how archtype desing has evolved and how the player base responded to it (in actual tournaments, and in online conversation)
More so on the choices Konami made for card/archtype design.
Gusto falco later got turned into shaddoll falco, which is still a tuner despite the archetype not having any synchros.
Level 2
EARTH/Zombie/Tuner/Effect
0 ATK / 2000 DEF
You can only control 1 “"Tsukahagi, the Poisonous Mayakashi".
Should make a top ten best tuner video too if it doesn’t already exist. Also best extra deck monsters would be cool
Fortune Vision has a condition for a "lingering" effect to turn battle damage to zero
it saved my ass a lot of times when Fortune Ladies were meta in duel links
Majestic Dragon is actually pretty good on DL due to its skill lol makes a Rank 1 monster very easily
Have you thought of doing a worst list about cards to build your deck around? I remember you brought up several cards that you said you have to build your deck around, and I think that would be interesting.
Top 10 worst/best archetypes? I would love to see those tbh
Flanvell Archer wasn't that bad... He didnt deserved to be here... But great top as always!
What about a TOP 10 Best\Worst Noble Knight Cards?
I love your videos!
Congratulations on reaching 200k by the way
Top 10 cards that supports a specefic attribute. Make this list for all 7 of them.
Wish-Converging Dragon may be good since you can special summon a level 1 dragon from your deck, but can you summon the mighty Sonic Chick with it like Yusei? I think not!
Because in Yugioh it's more important to pull directly from the deck to the field or GY, so stacking the deck is irrelevant
you already did Top 10 Worst Zombies and Pyros, how about just do the rest of the Types? specifically I'd like to see the Top 10 Worst Insects (because god knows there's a lot of them) and Top 10 Worst Psychics (because somehow I feel like even the lesser Psychics are still be decent)
Number 10: I Can Not Be Used For Synchro!
Great Start!
Now, in celebration of Spirit monsters finally getting a new mediocre support: top 10 good/bad Spirit monsters? (Tier 0 is Yata Garasu by default I guess?)
I just heard 6th place with the Nordic Alfar and now I want a top 10 best / worst archetypes overall
Funny thing is that Iron Chain Coil's Japanese version didn't have the "stay on the field" clause to it, and the permanent boost was okay back in its time in making the other monsters not-terrible stat-wise.
They say that about Blackwing - Kochi the daybreak but didn't we get several cards where we can have a lvl 3 tuner and easy to special summon lvl 5 non-tuners to get our lvl 8 Synchros?
You kinda messed up the timestamp for Iron Chain Coil in the description.
