@@nscardino34 its not "just music" for many of us this is a trancendental experience. For TOOL is a very important part of my daily life and i would lie cheat and steal to be a a TOOL show and besides this song is not the Grudge its Descending and it has a different feel
Dude!! You are a ninja! Thank you for this. The Jacksonville performance is great, but there were definitely some minor issues. Completely understandable considering it was the live debut of the full song. There were definitely some wrong notes in the solo, and there were timing/syncopation issues at the end. This performance had none of that, spot on and intense. Better ambiance, almost surreal to see no cell phones in a concert video too. You can understand why it's their request. Thank you so much for this. Hopefully more people discover this because it is currently THE BEST version of Descending 🤘
I actually disagree to a point re: syncopation issues. The part with the beautiful guitar line towards the end that Adam has been known for playing, Danny is doing some wild stuff when it starts. I feel like that's a really ambitious thing Adam and Danny are trying to do with the tom rolls and all that wild timing stuff. I feel like the *gong* hit is off time - same as Rockville, as well as a couple other moments within that part. Certainly improved, but I feel like they're still working that part out. The guitar solos are MUCH more solid sounding though for sure. Cheers!!
It's honestly something I have been struggling with amongst the excitement this week. We missed out on hearing these songs in their final mixed versions first. Kind of wish they would have released a single first, and then played it live.
it was amazing on the last encore song, stink fist, when Maynard said, ok kids, you can take out your phones, and from where I was in the nosebleeds, a thousand lights lit up from below when people had permission to record.
god damn i was at this show. saw them in nola a couple weeks ago and im sad they didn't play this again. this was such a phenomenal performance of descending. every note was spot on.
Ok so at first, I didn't like this song.... Then I liked it a bit. Then I liked it. Then I loved it. Now I'm spending most of my waking hours with that riff at 11:02 going around my head. People at work keep asking me why I keep banging the desk with my fists whilst bobbing my head around doing guitar solo faces..... :D
Now that we all have evolved through the shadows..and fought our own personal battles that have manifested us emotionally and spiritually.. Here we are into the next phase of our evolution in a hostile world..here is our eternity and this is our music.. TOOOOOL FUCK YEAH FINALLY
I can totally understand about the cell phone thing, it is a distraction for the performer at times and your there to listen to this great music that is Tool and not fumbling around with a cell phone to get a pic or a video etc. I can remember seeing them in the 90's and I mean there were no cell phones in the audience and the only thing to show that you been there was a ticket stub and memories! Any way Cal you did a good job and hope you had lot's of at the concert:D
OMG, that drunk lady laughing in the beginning of this video! The "Milli Vanilli" joke that was told, wasn't even that funny to begin with, whatsoever!!!! But, all in all, this is yet another amazing show once again by your's & my favorite band that is TOOL!!!! Let's Fucking Go, Baby!

I just held my iPhone tightly against my chest and use an app called SP Camera that blacks out the screen. I am big on not disturbing people at concerts by shoving my lit up phone in everyone's view...but I also like to take videos at every concert I go to. So this was basically business as usual. My clothes were dark, obviously dark inside, black iPhone...the security guard that ejected the guy in front of me actually sidestepped in front of me and looked right at me while I was recording but he didn't notice (whew!) I was also in arguably the most pain in the ass position to get to see or travel to if you're security. I was in the dead middle of the floor both seat and row wise. However, that kind of goes out the window since dude in front of me was thrown out. I really wish I got other videos though...not seeing many others coming out of this arena mini tour especially as close as I was. Would have been pissed if I got thrown out though. I'd be facing a drive of shame back to Atlanta.
What a show. This song and it’s stage show was like a religious experience. I was ready to bow to whatever god was about to emerge from that pyramid.
And that's how it's done, you're actually embracing your foolishness, wow.
Geezz bro. Its just music. Besides.....Tool already made this song....its called "The Grudge"

This new album has re-energized Tool fans..let the positivity begin..
This álbum its logical progression to the glad of being Alive.
Wow, they already improved so much on their second night. Amazing!

Appreciate it man. I wish I could have taken more but the dude in front of me got ejected after this song so I stopped. 😬

I thiught the song was executed very well. Kudos to those who noticed the missteps.
Excellent quality! Thanks!
Love how well-aligned the septagram is with the pyramid. 🙂

Sounds much heavier indoors. Thanks for the recording!

Can't wait to hear the studio version of this song...considering how tricky it seems to be to pull off live...
That rhythm that starts around 9:00 is so fucking good it hurts me.
This just made me appreciate my seats at that show...
Beautiful
Awesomeness out of this world! How on earth they come up with such legendary tunes in every album. I am compelled to get this album
Among other things by taking the necessary time maybe? No hurry, don't push it, be patient and it will end up WELL.
We finally made it....fucking epic
No joke...thank you
nice,thank you man
Still the best version to date.

Wow, this is a million times better than Rockville. After hearing this I've completely fallen in love with this song.
Same, the rockville version didn't do it justice

very well done. thanks for this recording. seems like that section was a good audience, too. cheers!

Lyrics:
"Descending"
Free fall for our lived life
This epilogue of our own fable
Heedless... our slumber
Floating at the end
Free fall through this boundless land
This madness of our own making
Crawling, isn't flying
Growing isn't infinite
Come our end suddenly
All hail our lethargy
Come see suddenly
To the quick end
Disillusioned pray
We mitigate this ruin
Calling all to walk in order
Drifting through this boundless land
This madness of our own making
Sound our dire reveille
Row off our apathy
Lest we
Cease to be
Stir us from our
Walking slumber
Mitigate our ruin
Call us all to walk in order
Some will travel far
Through the primal body
Some will never leave
To be or not to be
Pride
Stay the grand finale
Stay the reading of our
Swan song and epilogue
One try to stay alive
Elementary muster every fiber
Mobilize
Stay alive
Stir us from our
Walking slumber
Mitigate our ruin
Call us all to walk in order
Thank you.
10 seconds in. "I wanna hear some Milli Vanilli"!!! Fuckin nearly spit my beer out!
A perfect circle meors DE nom volume 2. Ethereal mystical sounds. I worship Tool
That sound in the begining on Maynards voice is ill as fuck...he hits good notes with it too - can't wait to understand what hes saying..
Thanks!! Did you manage to get the whole show? There were a few people near us getting thrown out for recording.
That’s terrible. There’s an audio only recording of the entire show.
Unfortunately I stopped after this because someone in front of me got ejected.
tool was sent to us by the gods to help us Wake the fuck up! Thanks Guys♥
Oh wow Adam actually hitting the right notes during the solo?? Rockville seemed a little.....off.

More pyramids, occult symbolism, and ritual magic, I'll pass thanks.

Lol. Yeah. In 13 years this is all you can come up with. Maynard needs to quit and let a real man lead that band. He’s done

No. I’m not a musician. I’m not a weirdo who has to cry to everyone about all the problems I have and how tough my life is.
