You need to connect them to a 12v supply to test them whilst out of the car to make sure the soleloid is activating the moving valve freely and also whist activated & open to further clean inside with carby cleaner of MAF cleaner to get all the crud out of the inside. Also need to activate whilst applying fresh oil so it gets inside and then test the solenoid with rapid on-off 12v supply to make sure the valve is now moving freely & with ease (you can tell by the clicking sound that the valve is super responsive to 12v being switched & off).
This is the proper way to clean & test the solenoid out before re-installing (replace o-rings if they are no longer soft & pliable)

Hi! I have "Output inlet-VANOS" error - do you think cleaning solenoids might fix it, or is this a completely different issue? Where should I look? Thank you!

I didn't replace anything - I only cleaned both sensors and solenoids and the "Output inlet-VANOS error has disappeared!

Hallo, bij mijn E46 werkt de solenoid van de uitlaat niet naar behoren en moet deze worden vervangen. Welke van de twee is dit?

Здравствуйте! А обязательно смазывать соленоиды маслом, после промывки, перед установкой?

When I decided to clean solenoids, I noticed that one of them was completely disconnected (not connected properly by the previous owner). What does that mean for the car? One solenoid was disconnected probably for years before I bought the car and noticed it. How did it influence the engine?
Could you please tell what one disconnected solenoid would do to the engine? Thank you!

There are pig mechanics every where in the world even in Germany. Some one put glue on the o-rings and that's awful !! You din't clean it properly you should connect to a 12v to test them and open it to clean inside and you are reassembling with the old o-rings??! Man why are you posting your video?
