Straight up. A friend and I built one with a 440 Kawi 2 stroke. We clocked it at 74mph and that wasn't even wide open. It was a death machine. Super scary.

Check out Beast48.com. click on 'find a dealer' I'm the 4th one down lol. I know a few things about their limits. The front suspension, steering ratio and tire type all create a convergence of very sketchy circumstances at speed. That being said, Cleesus and the guys all have a lot of experience and I'm sure if their not comfortable with it, they'll know when to back off.
@@QuantumLeap83 Yeah I've seen a few golf carts tip over from turning. The soft front suspension and quick steering makes them bicycle up on 2 wheels pretty easy.
100% agree, race suit isn't gonna cut it. I'm not trying to be alarmist, but that thing WILL roll, or at least end up on it's side at some point. Comfort + sketchy vehicle = wrecks. The longer they drive it, the higher the chance, so I definitely think leathers are the way to go. Borrow a suit if you have to, I'm sure someone has a one or two piece you can use.

I am building pretty much the same thing except my golf cart has an aluminum frame and now I think I'm crazy for wanting to build something this insane. However I've taken some notes and I will be widening mine a bit and maybe stretching it a little bit... thank you guys for coming up with this build and I'm glad you've shared it with us....already looking forward to the next build off!
TheShubbah mullet never happened that’s why I didn’t count it, I was really looking forward to that too but obviously that thing was gonna get out of hand.
Love this build off and can't wait to see them in competition. I would however like to see both teams figure out something cage wise on the front as the factory 1" square tube is paper thin and just going to fold if there's a roll which leaves you hoping it folds outward and not directly onto the driver/passenger. When that bar folds with the way these carts are made it could go from rolling into flipping end over end which no one wants to see. Also on the steering wheel/column not being break away a little over 30 years ago now I lost one of my best friends throughout childhood to a steering wheel being driven into his chest in a head on collision with such force it basically crushed him from his sternum to the base of his neck. The car was equipped with a functioning air bag that did deploy but that didn't prevent the column and wheel itself from crushing him. I know as racers no one wants to mention the injuries of other racers or even broach the subject but I really do want to see everyone involved as safe as humanly possible. That is of course kind of an oxymoron considering the vehicles in questions overall design and their now utterly insane Power to Weight Ratio, short and narrow dimensions of the overall chassis are definitely going to factor into the equation as well...
Have you even seen any of the other videos? Specifically the ones of Cleetus driving Leroy and literally spinning the car sideways at about 80 mph at the track... if he can handle that I'm sure he'll be fine in this. Plus they have a roll cage.

Gives more control of the Throttle pedal to keep your foot from jumping around all over the place and accidentally stabbing at the wrong time
No need for more than 1 chain. Chains handle 200hp bikes just fine. It just wasn't tight enough in the video

Plus the cooling factor on a snowmobile motor is crazy. They are meant for cooler temps out the gate. Not really Florida approved.
Grind hard plumbing does some projects with snow mobile motors. They have crazy power to weight ratio.
