Fortnite should make fortnite classic for players who love old school FN and separete it from modern Fortnite with brand new in game mechanics ability's and on. Personally i feel last season was fresh new look at Fortnite and i felt like i am playing whole new game ..Love the speed cars op medallions only maybe fists were to strong instead of 4charges to be 3 and mystic's should be 4 instead of 5. This season i dont see medallions are not that fun everybody is using jet pack and shotgun 2 heals and AR its kind same old Fortnite nothing special just mid.Yes there is some cool items like CA shield WM glows and even DR doom fists are kind nothing compare to zeaus lighting bolts .. Season is mid for me regular Fnite..
Reasons I'm not happy with season 4: First marvel pass had all actual marvel characters in it, this season we get 2 wannabe marvel skins instead. Marvel jonesy is a forgettable skin im not gonna use. An it's not marvel pass worthy imo. It should of been a item shop skin. Second reason, that no one's brought up yet: last 2 seasons we had 6 panels of weekly quests rewards, this season we only have 3 panels. I wanna give them the benefit of doubt an hope we get a special skin. So, time will tell. I really hope it is. Otherwise the question should be asked: why?? Why did they do this??
Major difference between season 3 and 4 is that I'm not pouring magazines into an armored vehicle circling the map at 70 mph, turns out the SPEED was the real issue. The current powers are also about the power level of the explosives we had in Chapter 1 (grenade Launcher, Quad Launcher, cluster grenades)
Exactly my thoughts. The reason I don’t play builds is due to how I simply don’t enjoy passive play. I want my games to be fast paced and fun, and while season 3 could have that every now and then, the fact is me having to spray thousands of damage into a vehicle to damage a person is not enjoyable. It just turned into a massive third-party fest with little consequence to fighting someone because you could just drive away in a beefy car. Now I get fun items are enjoyable at first but after a week of it being out, the fun starts to fade and the more winning a game drives the fun factor. The reason Fortnite keeps adding strong items then nerfing them is because that matches the flow of people’s opinions. It’s fun to barrage someone with rockets the first week but by the second it just devolves into a crutch to get kills rather than a skilled weapon in an inherently competitive game.
I think the cars in season 3 and still now we're not so annoying because they were op. That was just at first. They are annoying because combating them is just so impossible. If you yourself do not have a vehicle, there is nothing you can do. Imagine this: an open field a car is coming towards you, What do you do? Probably just continuously shoot the car until it explodes or until the guy runs away before you can blow it up. It is not the fighting mechanic. The jet doctor is exciting with him and does give you an unfair advantage. You can just shoot them back. You have less angles. You have less movement. It's a lot more difficult to hit them but you can at the end of the day You can shoot back
It's literally this. Some people just look at what's the current popular opinion and do the same, while others do the opposite just to be different and cause controversy. Here we are. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and believe he just got cooked by Cap's shield and is venting, but not sure.
Last season there were fucking magneto gloves that did 95 damage and there was nothing to counter them with, now you can just throw a shield buble and you're safe and this season none of the mythics deal 95 damage every 0.5 seconds (zero build opinion)
doomgloves Exactly! only one item per game only once every 15 seconds, This is not at all the same as last season when if you play as a squad and another squad just starts spamming with the power of magneto, as I already said, the shield buble did not save from magnetto, but in my opinion from doom gloves saves

Let's be real this season is just chapter 5 season 3 but with the original formula we had in every other season and I hate this absolute dogshit season where kids spam rockets, shields and become literal mosquitoes with those jetpacks. Atleast we had counters since say one with these cars while with these new items. Long story short, this season is absolute dogshit and the super powers don't fit the original game formula at all.
As someone who really doesn’t like wrecked, and by far prefers OG, I was pleasantly surprised by this season, I don’t care much for the mythics, but combatting them is so much easier than combatting cars so I find it much more playable
Difference between last season and this season. At launch, Season 3 felt straight-up unfair. Car vs car was fun, but car vs player, the player is screwed. They had no counters, and you take a thing that's so easy to control, make it super strong, and give it an arsenal + nitro. You were screwed, what do you even do? This season's launch was fair. The Marvel items are strong, but they're balanced and easy to counter. I feel like everyone was expecting this; I mean, with the superpowers and abilities of Marvel characters, you'd expect them to be decently strong and quite different from regular guns. (Perspective of a builds player)
Ok your cooking with this, this is the exact reason this is a good season the abilities are viable but not so over powered you don't need or have to use guns.
The reason what makes this season so good in comparison to last season is solely cause you aren't camping for 99% of matches until the endgame. Add that the gameplay for fights is significantly more enjoyable in this season compared to last season also adds to why this season is good.
One of my biggest issues with wrecked was how the bosses nearly guaranteed a win. Broken medallion, mythic, and overpowered car. Here, the 3 best items “shield jetpack arsenal” can be found without killing a bods, and it feels like you have a chance at winning and have a choice to drop at more than 3 pois.
@imbrue002 Not really. The shield gets melted by smgs and its easy to hit somebody whos using a jetpack. Also, i dont know how you don’t see those items in a full game, they are super common.
Bro it’s not just cars which made the season bad, the nitro gloves are way worse than the jetpack, prepatch nitro was obnoxious, and the medallion powers made endgame impossible bc you’d be fighting thanos. None of this season (except the port-a-mech) makes fights feel one-sided and unfair in the same way as s3
You are wrong. The jetpack alone can be a total pain in the ass to deal with as it lets people fly away too high up or around the place. The jetpack can be boost-cancelled with crouch so you can get insane slides at virtually no cost to fuel or stamina. This lets people speedrun for Cap's shield, which is a homing shield that can block and be spammed. You can spam the shield at people while spamming jetpack boosts -- making you hard to hit. No. This is the worst season. It's everything you people complained about last time, but are quiet today.
Last season was so frenetic there were so many unique items the Nitro and the gloves were so fun but there is nothing remotely close to that this season, this season will definitely get boring faster than the last one
i think people hate last season because it felt like you were forced to play in cars and not al lot of people make car royal and they nerfed the cars and it got better but super powers feel like gun play and different at the same time

All Fortnite needs to do to make a good season is to give comp players separate loot pools and give casuals the regular stuff cause thats been the problem for this season and the last one

Honestly, what I think this season is doing right is that there’s a lot of really powerful (and maybe overpowered) items, but we have a ton of options for what to carry. Last season, it felt like if you didn’t carry nitro fists or drive around all game, you were going to lose. It also didn’t help that there were many ways to players to run away from fights and it promoted a very annoying playstyle. Personally, I really enjoyed last season, but even from day one, I could tell it was going to get old overtime and I ended up mostly playing Reload after it released. I think that Captain America’s shield is a really annoying item but I don’t really have many problems with the other items. For context, I’m a zero build player
Your feelings about the new shotgun resonated with me so much because I have the same feeling! One time I was surprised I won a fight because it felt like a second shot didn't pop off and yet the other guy was eliminated.
The main difference between this season and last season is the fact that nitro and nitro fists were stupidly common. And the fact that cars had 100% spawn rates made almost everyone leave a fight. In this season, not everyone can have an arsenal, not everyone can have a shield, or doom's magic gauntlets. It's really about how common the strongest things are tbh
It's kind of obvious why it's a little better man, the items in the last season were very broken and the new meta was very unfair and bad. It wasn't fun at all to die instantly by cars and broken items, it's annoying. I didn't like last season, I was fed up with dying to cars and stupid items that don't require any skill, I was fed up with seeing my skills being denied because of strong items. Last season was horrible, this current one at least you don't get run over and die instantly, and you don't have to deal with "nitro jumps" and unbearable cars, I'd much rather deal with the Captain America shield. 😂
This Season is AMAZING. Last Season was ALSO AMAZING before all of the nerfs. After the nerfs, last season was SO BORING. I nearly quit because the cars were SO BAD.
I'm definitely enjoying this current season a lot more vs the previous, I'm actually comfortable with certain guns and don't gotta worry about 3 cars just randomly pulling up with guns attached n killing me instantly, that being said when I do get in a car I just keeping using my boost over and over only to realize I'm already out of gas cause I still think it's last season 😅
Right but what I'm getting at is I'm okay with all of those things. If you're someone who's not but likes this season it seems inconsistent with your preferences from the previous season.

1:20 It’s a big learning curve for you bc in Fortnite Wreck. It only took two buttons to drive a car and hold right trigger for the auto turret… while in this season you need a little more skill to use the mythics
There has been a lot of moaning about the items, hence the nerfs over the last 2 days, I just think it seems like there's a lot less because it was so apparent last season.
( in my opinion) overpowered things in fortnite make the game better like finding ways to counter them is fun like for one using cars as a getaway or sitting on a hill shooting people from a distance or just getting the overpowerd items in general

The reasons cars didn’t work is because people don’t like vehicle combat in video games, especially when they’re not the focus of the game. That simple. It’s clunky, one dimensional, and results in stalemates. It can be supplementary like shooting out of cars but it should never be the best strategy nor the main focus.
For me, cars are not much of a problem. If there's a lack of counter to cars with turrets, and yes, it's a problem. If there's counters like emp grenades and boom Bows, cars are not a big deal, anymore. For me, Ch5s3 wrecked really took a good twisted with meta cars, and stuff. That's why I love it. You may call this a skill issue. This entire Chapter 5 of gunplay is awful and repetitive. I like the weapon attachments during season 1, but later, it has gotten really repetitive and boring. It's frustrating

After one week, the season was boring. 2 months in, Epic contradicts their main focus of the season and adds 10 counters making the cars awful anyways. Gunplay, and superpower gunplay has always been more fun than running with those nitrofists, or camping in a car with no skill. I was tired of people always running. Season 3 was trash. Lets not even include their god awful battlepass. Started in chapter 3, and I can confidently say its the worst season I've ever played.
Fortnite's Alpha was supposed to be a dynamic tower defense game where characters have unique powers after the zombies ruined the populace. STW is originally where people were supposed to learn to build and then br from there but competing with other BRs became FN's bread and butter so they use the community's br feedback as a measuring tape so FN lost it's sense of originality a long time ago
I'm not sure if Fortnite brought back trap items just to warm up players for Ch2 OG or if it's because Chapter 6 will become a return to some older mechanics like traps, location rifts, animals, etc
This season is great, and super entertaining. I think the major diffence is that most of the complaints last season was the vehicles, which has major movement and mods attatched. Whereas the superpowers, sure they are far from being guns, would still be placed under the 'gunplay' catagory rather than vehicle play if that makes sense. Its more adaptable, and easier to use in some ways.
I find that the mythic weapons are akin to ultra turbo building fanatics who make the world trade centre in nanoseconds if they hear anything that resembles a footstep, or is outright shot at.
I feel the reason why most people don't complain too much about this season is because most of the super powers can be countered with the right weapons, or even with strategy. For example if someone uses a jet pack, the shield is a good counter. If someone uses the shield the turret is a decent counter.
Lol wut? The shield is not a counter to jetpack at all. You just strafe to the side. Turret damage is so minimal its only good to alert you of some nerd in the sky that's raining crap down at you.
I have no idea how people hate this season i love it so far and if we get the marvel LTM back it's going to be even MORE amazing but the meta is somewhat weird with caps shield and they 100% need to fix the hit box for it but if they do that i don't see a reason for me to hate this season and i also loved last season like at the start i did find the cars somewhat annoying but when they added EMPS i never had to deal with cars again lol

Bruh .. this Season is far more balanced than last Season. Especially in Ranked. The Medallions don't grant any physical character advantage either, like Nitro or Dash medallions. I'm talking Builds specifically, I don't know about Zero Builds. But damn this Season is good. Probably the best of the Chapter.
Klarque sometimes you gotta lose in order to learn some more tye shield can be deadly if yiu don't know how to counter it stay a distance away from enemy and shoot them wheb they throw shield and if yiu see someone with arsenal focus on takeing that enemy out and use uour best weapons on them and if you can get the high ground from them
I think maybe one reason is that people might think that these new weapons are more fun than just driving around in the car and hitting people although I do see your points and I was also dumbfounded when there wasn’t any hate for these new mythics
There's no one complaining because there are no braindead vehicles and nitro fists that just kill you in a millisecond, or a must carry utility item like nitro that ruins build games completely. Everything new is pretty much balanced, very fun and not broken
I’m a comp player and this season was everything I wanted. The guns feel so polished and there’s many choice of what weapons you want but there’s also a good choice of all equally balanced utility items that you could carry if you wanted movement you would take the jets and do the slide cancel thing but if you couldn’t find it you might be at a slight disadvantage but you can still take the shield which is incredibly good especially if you do the exploit where you throw it behind someone’s box and as a comp player they actually put most of the marvel mythics in comp and they are actually pretty balanced besides war machines mythic but that has already been changed and it is no longer in tourneys because you don’t need to rely on it as much as stuff like the cars or nitro
The reason this season got less backlash was because of how awful3 last season was. As someone who has grinded to T100 I can say it’s fun . . . but it’s still off. I think the strong things of the loot pool feel more fair to fight than cars although they still have the same issue they did; needing to hold counters to items. I think the new guns are amazing, especially the Pistol and AR. I think I’m not gonna fully judge how this season feels to play until we have the things we know will be added into the lootpool (Mythic Uzi’s, Iron Man stuff). In terms of competitive, as someone who plays ranked from time to time to embrace the competitive spirit from time to time, for the love of god split the lootpool and remove cars from comp but keep cars in pubs. I’m Plat 2 ZB and final zones still consist of people just refusing to leave cars. Causally this season is currently like a 7/10 but comp it still has too many issues due to epic trying to make comp and casual as similar as possible, so 4/10 for comp
Extended cut and response to questions :D Consistency with AA: I play on switch and even I feel like my aim got scuffed with the change in seasons, even with the old weapons. Hitboxes on caps shield: they are so scuffed oml q-q Arsenal: Just got nerfed so we’ll have to see Playstyles: I kinda feel like this was always a thing, easiest way to show this is Tac v.s. Pump Rhythm of games: Yeah, definitely noticed that Q: If you didn’t like last season, why do you like this season? A: Combat, simple as that. When you were fighting cars when you didn’t have anything to contest it like emp, you genuinely felt powerless against cars. With all the new superhero stuff even if you don’t have it, the fights still feel rough but possible which is why I don’t get frustrated when I lose to them. Q: Why did cars not feel like “Fortnite” but superpowers do? A: While I don’t think that superpowers are very “fortnite” like, they definitely feel more in line than cars. The whole point of fortnite was the gunplay and the building. Cars made gunplay nonexistent and you didn’t need to build because you were driving around an armored wall that can heal itself within 5 seconds at a charge station. Superpowers add some complexity to the gunplay while still making it fun to fight without them and 250 damage of a wall is a lot more reasonable than the 2000ish cars had. Another factor is that the speed of the cars personally made the island feel tiny and not the vast landmass it really was, and without cars being as prevalent it reintroduced the concept of the island feeling big again.
I feel like the gameplay loop of season 3 got old kind of quick, it felt like my role just became the gunner every match meaning im just using one hand to aim with the mouse and switch occasionally to repair the car. I think even if something is super unbalanced I can still enjoy it, it just needs to be something that feels engaging. Despite loving the battle pass, theming, pois etc. the gameplay just wasnt engaging enough
The fact you can use all of them is way to OP.. i have seen so many people that use it all this is unplayable to me idk why they wanted to put this in maybe they just nerf it more or do something that you can only use 1 item not all.... its not fun to play against full teams with auto turrets and captain shields like bro..
i think its tough, because season 3 was totally car-centric. towarss the start/midpoint of the season, you practically needed a car to drive win, which promoted running away from fights and tanking ungodly amounts of damage (especially with the first version of boss cars). The powers from season 4 are far more accessible for everybody to get, as opposed to a select few boss cars and the RNG game that was trying to drive around and find good car mods. They feel like they have a genuinely fair addition to BR, because they are concrete and understandable. You either are shooting with them or are getting shot by them, not being circled at 80mph and getting grenades lobbed at you. That being said, I personally believe atleast a few of these mythics need balance changes, or atleast the machine pistols, because the amount of times you can die just by somebody getting a quicker jump on you without being able to counter them is frustrating sometimes. Either way, I think this season is more fun gameplay wise, just because the loot pool and gameplay loop feels more one-on-one fight centric, rather than running away or sitting in an armored car.
The reason why sweats hate cars, yet love superpowers, is because in real life they live in their Mom's basement with their comic book collection. They don't own a car so they ride their bike to their job at GameStop.
Yea but wasn't Chapter 3 season 2 kind of a car season. since those mods were in the game at that time for the first time I think. plus, tanks and battle buses probably more than that I forgot about.
Klarque, you should check Rewind Royale (creative map). It is the most faithful recreation of OG Fortnite I have ever seen. The UI is the same, the sounds, the graphics, they disabled mantling and sprinting also. Tomorrow they will be rotate to CH1S2
i’m sorry gang but i gotta disagree. i normally agree with you but this isn’t the take i was expecting. you say how there’s a learning curve from last season to this season. last season was considerably easier but this season is harder. is it the season you hate? or the transition? Fortnite isnt the problem. It is the community that is the real problem. Too many people complaining or giving annoying and illogical opinions or opinions that no one asked for. On Reddit for example, I see a lot of people having the same thinking, which is sad. For example - "Oh no if Fortnite doesn't bring back the old Battle Pass skins , Im gonna start crying 😭" , "Im a 50 year old construction worker and I like to play Fortnite with my little children, it is fun!" , "early Fortnite Chapter 1 was peak , now the game is trash and doesn't feel the same" , "Oh , this skin is too big and goofy , it has a very big hitbox and you will be spotted very easily".................
that's the nature of the internet bro. People will always find a reason to be mad at something. Even for me with this season and aim assist being drastically nerfed I'm giving myself time to get used to it and have fun. There are so many variables when considering how much fun you'll have with a season. Your play style, whether you prefer builds or zero builds, comp or casual player, controller vs KBM. People just gotta find what works for them while also not freaking out over a few changes and a shift in gameplay. Sometimes it takes longer to find enjoyment in something and that's okay.
@@Klarque_ClintThere are way way too many biased people in the Fortnite community , that is the main problem. They sometimes make the game seem much worse or better than it actually is , and because of them Epic Games sometimes makes changes that can ruin people that have never had complaints in the first place ( such as Battle Pass cosmetics returning from this season and onwards). I think Battle Passes should stay exclusive forever, but many people will disagree with me and say that Im selfish or that I shouldn't care about exclusivity in pixels. Dumb arguments tbh.

I don't think they should touch the previous passes but I'm down with them experimenting with the new ones. Let's give it a couple of years and see how it does.
I don’t know how to put it but let me try so basically season three you needed like one of the best AR or SMG to be a car and sometimes that would even work you would need like magneto with season four you don’t need something that good to counter. There’s actually a strategy to counter this stuff instead of just an item. I hope I put it well.
Fortnite season 4 is fun and yes the weapons are op but, Fortnite needs to be different. Remember this is what made the game so popular, it was unique, and yes wrecked is peak Fortnite, fight me
for me i just find it harder, i prefered season 3. I just think driving around and using turrets to shoot can be fun. But I don't like the abilities like the turret specifically.
You are the first person I’ve seen not like this season. Crazy take, but I respect it. The problem with last season, is the pace of the games. Cars made the games go by way too fast, and you have almost no time to think before you see another vehicle headed your way.
I started ch 1 season 5 and haven't missed a season onward. The learning curve in builds took me a while. When zero build came, I switched. I only played this season a little the last two days. I'm not having a blast. If they got a jet pack and the rockets, you're done. I couldn't figure out the jetpack. I got it once and got attacked. I flew up but couldn't control it. I enjoyed the superpowers more the first marvel season. The battle pass this season is the best I've seen. Ignoring last seasons car meta, i just loved using nitro fists.
We can't be complaining about super powers in Fortnite when one of the most beloved seasons ever is a marvel season and one of the most popular ltms is marvel themed
The reason why war machines arsenal is closer to the original feel of Fortnite is because it’s literally guns and rockets and in Fortnite they have guns and rockets. The jetpack is kinda like the jetpack from chapter 1 as well. There really isn’t much that is mind blowing it’s just regular items and the car was a completely different play style so saying that it’s the same thing it really isn’t. Like the arsenal is the mini gun and quad launcher in one item. But I actually didn’t mind the cars from last season I thought it was a refreshing take on Fortnite rather than a completely ruined game
The issue was the cars being uncounterable at the start?????? EMPs came out and it got SO much better, as for the balance of THIS Season? The only broken item is the shield. Magneto came along during the end half of last Season and THAT ALONE was more OP than anything Fortnite has ever had. Magneto was more OP than the mechs.
The truth is that there’s a counter to everything in the new season. Also the war machines arsenal isn’t even busted. It’s horrible at long range and they just nerfed it. But what I’m mainly trying to get at is that if you wanna play with the items, play unranked. If you don’t want to, play ranked. If you don’t want to fight sweaty players, play zero build. There is literally no reason for anyone to complain of the balance of this season

Well tbh it was so unfair start of last season yea I had fun but I’m not gonna be blinded and say it wasn’t ok. The whole point of Fortnite is that you can play different play styles within a meta but season 3 wasn’t like that up until the nerfs I’m finally happy with fighting with actual guns instead of people running away 3rd partying me out of nowhere.

Imo mobility is cool because ya know walking seems like a hella slow way to get around when the map is big comparitively so im pretty unbiased imo but everything should be balanced you should not be able to box yourself in the air with the turret like i guess i just fly up there but damn son

The new shotgun is so hit or miss, the mechanics are super clunky sometimes. At first I wasn’t giving any damage but I was getting hit markers. Definitely liked the last season way better even tho the cars were super OP. And I’m glad PC players don’t have aim assist it’s already unbalanced and glitchy everytime I get near a PC player
And also if anyone hasn't checked the pinned comment yet please do. He does say that the video was made before the nerfs of the war machine stuff and the shield all in the comment. And he also adds on by saying how hes starting to enjoy the season alot and that hes getting more use to the meta.
Probably not a popular opinion, but I thought last season was the best in Fortnite history, more so because of the Nitro Fists and Nitro Splash than the cars. This one makes me want to scream, and that’s mainly due to War Machine stuff. They are somehow both difficult-to-use and OP at the same time. The Shield is great, though.
Both seasons are amazing, but I'll need to give Absolute Doom some more time before making my verdict on whether or not it's better than Wrecked. Playing Day 1 this season was extremely stressful compared to Day 1 of S3. But I am getting use to the meta as time goes by. Epic really cooked hard bringing us two back-to-back banger seasons.

Fortnite should make fortnite classic for players who love old school FN and separete it from modern Fortnite with brand new in game mechanics ability's and on.
Personally i feel last season was fresh new look at Fortnite and i felt like i am playing whole new game ..Love the speed cars op medallions only maybe fists were to strong instead of 4charges to be 3 and mystic's should be 4 instead of 5.
This season i dont see medallions are not that fun everybody is using jet pack and shotgun 2 heals and AR its kind same old Fortnite nothing special just mid.Yes there is some cool items like CA shield WM glows and even DR doom fists are kind nothing compare to zeaus lighting bolts .. Reasons I'm not happy with season 4:
First marvel pass had all actual marvel characters in it, this season we get 2 wannabe marvel skins instead.
Marvel jonesy is a forgettable skin im not gonna use. An it's not marvel pass worthy imo. It should of been a item shop skin.
Second reason, that no one's brought up yet: last 2 seasons we had 6 panels of weekly quests rewards, this season we only have 3 panels.
I wanna give them the benefit of doubt an hope we get a special skin. So, time will tell. I really hope it is. Otherwise the question should be asked: why?? Why did they do this??
Major difference between season 3 and 4 is that I'm not pouring magazines into an armored vehicle circling the map at 70 mph, turns out the SPEED was the real issue. The current powers are also about the power level of the explosives we had in Chapter 1 (grenade Launcher, Quad Launcher, cluster grenades)

The reason I don’t play builds is due to how I simply don’t enjoy passive play. I want my games to be fast paced and fun, and while season 3 could have that every now and then, the fact is me having to spray thousands of damage into a vehicle to damage a person is not enjoyable. It just turned into a massive third-party fest with little consequence to fighting someone because you could just drive away in a beefy car.
Now I get fun items are enjoyable at first but after a week of it being out, the fun starts to fade and the more winning a game drives the fun factor. The reason Fortnite keeps adding strong items then nerfing them is because that matches the flow of people’s opinions. It’s fun to barrage someone with rockets the first week but by the second it just devolves into a crutch to get kills rather than a skilled weapon in an inherently competitive game.

I think the cars in season 3 and still now we're not so annoying because they were op. That was just at first. They are annoying because combating them is just so impossible. If you yourself do not have a vehicle, there is nothing you can do. Imagine this: an open field a car is coming towards you, What do you do? Probably just continuously shoot the car until it explodes or until the guy runs away before you can blow it up. It is not the fighting mechanic. The jet doctor is exciting with him and does give you an unfair advantage. You can just shoot them back. You have less angles. You have less movement. It's a lot more difficult to hit them but you can at the end of the day You can shoot back

As someone who really doesn’t like wrecked, and by far prefers OG, I was pleasantly surprised by this season, I don’t care much for the mythics, but combatting them is so much easier than combatting cars so I find it much more playable
Difference between last season and this season. At launch, Season 3 felt straight-up unfair. Car vs car was fun, but car vs player, the player is screwed. They had no counters, and you take a thing that's so easy to control, make it super strong, and give it an arsenal + nitro. You were screwed, what do you even do? This season's launch was fair. The Marvel items are strong, but they're balanced and easy to counter. I feel like everyone was expecting this; I mean, with the superpowers and abilities of Marvel characters, you'd expect them to be decently strong and quite different from regular guns. (Perspective of a builds player)
Ok your cooking with this, this is the exact reason this is a good season the abilities are viable but not so over powered you don't need or have to use guns.
The reason what makes this season so good in comparison to last season is solely cause you aren't camping for 99% of matches until the endgame. Add that the gameplay for fights is significantly more enjoyable in this season compared to last season also adds to why this season is good.
One of my biggest issues with wrecked was how the bosses nearly guaranteed a win. Broken medallion, mythic, and overpowered car. Here, the 3 best items “shield jetpack arsenal” can be found without killing a bods, and it feels like you have a chance at winning and have a choice to drop at more than 3 pois.

You are wrong. The jetpack alone can be a total pain in the ass to deal with as it lets people fly away too high up or around the place. The jetpack can be boost-cancelled with crouch so you can get insane slides at virtually no cost to fuel or stamina. This lets people speedrun for Cap's shield, which is a homing shield that can block and be spammed. You can spam the shield at people while spamming jetpack boosts -- making you hard to hit. No. This is the worst season. It's everything you people complained about last time, but are quiet today.

Honestly, what I think this season is doing right is that there’s a lot of really powerful (and maybe overpowered) items, but we have a ton of options for what to carry. Last season, it felt like if you didn’t carry nitro fists or drive around all game, you were going to lose. It also didn’t help that there were many ways to players to run away from fights and it promoted a very annoying playstyle. Personally, I really enjoyed last season, but even from day one, I could tell it was going to get old overtime and I ended up mostly playing Reload after it released. I think that Captain America’s shield is a really annoying item but I don’t really have many problems with the other items. For context, I’m a zero build player

It wasn't fun at all to die instantly by cars and broken items, it's annoying. I didn't like last season, I was fed up with dying to cars and stupid items that don't require any skill, I was fed up with seeing my skills being denied because of strong items. 1:20 It’s a big learning curve for you bc in Fortnite Wreck. It only took two buttons to drive a car and hold right trigger for the auto turret… while in this season you need a little more skill to use the mythics

The reasons cars didn’t work is because people don’t like vehicle combat in video games, especially when they’re not the focus of the game. That simple.
It’s clunky, one dimensional, and results in stalemates. It can be supplementary like shooting out of cars but it should never be the best strategy nor the main focus.
For me, cars are not much of a problem.
If there's a lack of counter to cars with turrets, and yes, it's a problem.
If there's counters like emp grenades and boom Bows, cars are not a big deal, anymore.

After one week, the season was boring. 2 months in, Epic contradicts their main focus of the season and adds 10 counters making the cars awful anyways. Gunplay, and superpower gunplay has always been more fun than running with those nitrofists, or camping in a car with no skill. I was tired of people always running. Season 3 was trash. Lets not even include their god awful battlepass. Started in chapter 3, and I can confidently say its the worst season I've ever played.
Fortnite's Alpha was supposed to be a dynamic tower defense game where characters have unique powers after the zombies ruined the populace. STW is originally where people were supposed to learn to build and then br from there but competing with other BRs became FN's bread and butter so they use the community's br feedback as a measuring tape so FN lost it's sense of originality a long time ago

That's what I'm hoping for. Some old trap items as well as a few new ones. Seems like they might be priming us to use them again.
This season is great, and super entertaining. I think the major diffence is that most of the complaints last season was the vehicles, which has major movement and mods attatched. Whereas the superpowers, sure they are far from being guns, would still be placed under the 'gunplay' catagory rather than vehicle play if that makes sense. Its more adaptable, and easier to use in some ways.
I find that the mythic weapons are akin to ultra turbo building fanatics who make the world trade centre in nanoseconds if they hear anything that resembles a footstep, or is outright shot at.
This season was one of the best now there are tons of nerfs so it’s just good but it will be better when the gamemodes come out
I feel the reason why most people don't complain too much about this season is because most of the super powers can be countered with the right weapons, or even with strategy. For example if someone uses a jet pack, the shield is a good counter. If someone uses the shield the turret is a decent counter.

There's no one complaining because there are no braindead vehicles and nitro fists that just kill you in a millisecond, or a must carry utility item like nitro that ruins build games completely. Everything new is pretty much balanced, very fun and not broken

I’m a comp player and this season was everything I wanted. The guns feel so polished and there’s many choice of what weapons you want but there’s also a good choice of all equally balanced utility items that you could carry if you wanted movement you would take the jets and do the slide cancel thing but if you couldn’t find it you might be at a slight disadvantage but you can still take the shield which is incredibly good especially if you do the exploit where you throw it behind someone’s box and as a comp player they actually put most of the marvel mythics in comp and they are actually pretty balanced besides war machines mythic but that has already been changed and it is no longer in tourneys because you don’t need to rely on it as much as stuff like the cars or nitro

The reason this season got less backlash was because of how awful3 last season was. As someone who has grinded to T100 I can say it’s fun . . . but it’s still off. I think the strong things of the loot pool feel more fair to fight than cars although they still have the same issue they did; needing to hold counters to items. I think the new guns are amazing, especially the Pistol and AR. I think I’m not gonna fully judge how this season feels to play until we have the things we know will be added into the lootpool (Mythic Uzi’s, Iron Man stuff). In terms of competitive, as someone who plays ranked from time to time to embrace the competitive spirit from time to time, for the love of god split the lootpool and remove cars from comp but keep cars in pubs. I’m Plat 2 ZB and final zones still consist of people just refusing to leave cars.
Causally this season is currently like a 7/10 but comp it still has too many issues due to epic trying to make comp and casual as similar as possible, so 4/10 for comp

Q: If you didn’t like last season, why do you like this season?
A: Combat, simple as that. When you were fighting cars when you didn’t have anything to contest it like emp, you genuinely felt powerless against cars. With all the new superhero stuff even if you don’t have it, the fights still feel rough but possible which is why I don’t get frustrated when I lose to them.
Q: Why did cars not feel like “Fortnite” but superpowers do?
A: While I don’t think that superpowers are very “fortnite” like, they definitely feel more in line than cars. The whole point of fortnite was the gunplay and the building. Cars made gunplay nonexistent and you didn’t need to build because you were driving around an armored wall that can heal itself within 5 seconds at a charge station. Superpowers add some complexity to the gunplay while still making it fun to fight without them and 250 damage of a wall is a lot more reasonable than the 2000ish cars had. Another factor is that the speed of the cars personally made the island feel tiny and not the vast landmass it really was, and without cars being as prevalent it reintroduced the concept of the island feeling big again.
I feel like the gameplay loop of season 3 got old kind of quick, it felt like my role just became the gunner every match meaning im just using one hand to aim with the mouse and switch occasionally to repair the car. I think even if something is super unbalanced I can still enjoy it, it just needs to be something that feels engaging. Despite loving the battle pass, theming, pois etc. the gameplay just wasnt engaging enough
The fact you can use all of them is way to OP.. i have seen so many people that use it all this is unplayable to me idk why they wanted to put this in maybe they just nerf it more or do something that you can only use 1 item not all.... its not fun to play against full teams with auto turrets and captain shields like bro..
i think its tough, because season 3 was totally car-centric. towarss the start/midpoint of the season, you practically needed a car to drive win, which promoted running away from fights and tanking ungodly amounts of damage (especially with the first version of boss cars).
The powers from season 4 are far more accessible for everybody to get, as opposed to a select few boss cars and the RNG game that was trying to drive around and find good car mods. They feel like they have a genuinely fair addition to BR, because they are concrete and understandable. You either are shooting with them or are getting shot by them, not being circled at 80mph and getting grenades lobbed at you.
That being said, I personally believe atleast a few of these mythics need balance changes, or atleast the machine pistols, because the amount of times you can die just by somebody getting a quicker jump on you without being able to counter them is frustrating sometimes.
Either way, I think this season is more fun gameplay wise, just because the loot pool and gameplay loop feels more one-on-one fight centric, rather than running away or sitting in an armored car.

Klarque, you should check Rewind Royale (creative map). It is the most faithful recreation of OG Fortnite I have ever seen. The UI is the same, the sounds, the graphics, they disabled mantling and sprinting also.

Fortnite isnt the problem. It is the community that is the real problem. Too many people complaining or giving annoying and illogical opinions or opinions that no one asked for. On Reddit for example, I see a lot of people having the same thinking, which is sad. For example - "Oh no if Fortnite doesn't bring back the old Battle Pass skins , Im gonna start crying 😭" , "Im a 50 year old construction worker and I like to play Fortnite with my little children, it is fun!" , "early Fortnite Chapter 1 was peak , now the game is trash and doesn't feel the same" , "Oh , this skin is too big and goofy , it has a very big hitbox and you will be spotted very easily".................
that's the nature of the internet bro. People will always find a reason to be mad at something. Even for me with this season and aim assist being drastically nerfed I'm giving myself time to get used to it and have fun. There are so many variables when considering how much fun you'll have with a season. Your play style, whether you prefer builds or zero builds, comp or casual player, controller vs KBM. People just gotta find what works for them while also not freaking out over a few changes and a shift in gameplay. Sometimes it takes longer to find enjoyment in something and that's okay.

They sometimes make the game seem much worse or better than it actually is , and because of them Epic Games sometimes makes changes that can ruin people that have never had complaints in the first place ( such as Battle Pass cosmetics returning from this season and onwards). I think Battle Passes should stay exclusive forever, but many people will disagree with me and say that Im selfish or that I shouldn't care about exclusivity in pixels. Dumb arguments tbh.

I don't think they should touch the previous passes but I'm down with them experimenting with the new ones. Let's give it a couple of years and see how it does.
I don’t know how to put it but let me try so basically season three you needed like one of the best AR or SMG to be a car and sometimes that would even work you would need like magneto with season four you don’t need something that good to counter. There’s actually a strategy to counter this stuff instead of just an item. I hope I put it well.

for me i just find it harder, i prefered season 3. I just think driving around and using turrets to shoot can be fun. But I don't like the abilities like the turret specifically.
You are the first person I’ve seen not like this season. Crazy take, but I respect it. The problem with last season, is the pace of the games. Cars made the games go by way too fast, and you have almost no time to think before you see another vehicle headed your way.
I started ch 1 season 5 and haven't missed a season onward. The learning curve in builds took me a while. When zero build came, I switched. I only played this season a little the last two days. I'm not having a blast. If they got a jet pack and the rockets, you're done. I couldn't figure out the jetpack. I got it once and got attacked. I flew up but couldn't control it. I enjoyed the superpowers more the first marvel season. The battle pass this season is the best I've seen. Ignoring last seasons car meta, i just loved using nitro fists.
We can't be complaining about super powers in Fortnite when one of the most beloved seasons ever is a marvel season and one of the most popular ltms is marvel themed

The reason why war machines arsenal is closer to the original feel of Fortnite is because it’s literally guns and rockets and in Fortnite they have guns and rockets. The jetpack is kinda like the jetpack from chapter 1 as well. There really isn’t much that is mind blowing it’s just regular items and the car was a completely different play style so saying that it’s the same thing it really isn’t. Like the arsenal is the mini gun and quad launcher in one item. But I actually didn’t mind the cars from last season I thought it was a refreshing take on Fortnite rather than a completely ruined game

The truth is that there’s a counter to everything in the new season. Also the war machines arsenal isn’t even busted. It’s horrible at long range and they just nerfed it. But what I’m mainly trying to get at is that if you wanna play with the items, play unranked. If you don’t want to, play ranked. If you don’t want to fight sweaty players, play zero build. There is literally no reason for anyone to complain of the balance of this season

I think the season is cool. Overall the nerfs so far haven't actually made any items useless but simply less frustrating to go up against which is a good thing. In my opinion an item shouldn't only be fun to use but also fun to go up against and if an Item is way too OP that wouldn't be possible.

The whole point of Fortnite is that you can play different play styles within a meta but season 3 wasn’t like that up until the nerfs I’m finally happy with fighting with actual guns instead of people running away 3rd partying me out of nowhere.
The mobility is so bad this season, especially riding off the fast paced highs that were Season 2 and 3, flowberry and hover packs are so slow

The new shotgun is so hit or miss, the mechanics are super clunky sometimes. At first I wasn’t giving any damage but I was getting hit markers. Definitely liked the last season way better even tho the cars were super OP. And I’m glad PC players don’t have aim assist it’s already unbalanced and glitchy everytime I get near a PC player

Probably not a popular opinion, but I thought last season was the best in Fortnite history, more so because of the Nitro Fists and Nitro Splash than the cars. This one makes me want to scream, and that’s mainly due to War Machine stuff. They are somehow both difficult-to-use and OP at the same time. The Shield is great, though.
Both seasons are amazing, but I'll need to give Absolute Doom some more time before making my verdict on whether or not it's better than Wrecked. Playing Day 1 this season was extremely stressful compared to Day 1 of S3. But I am getting use to the meta as time goes by. Epic really cooked hard bringing us two back-to-back banger seasons.
