  • When using the polisher, its important that change out the sock filters as needed to keep the polisher motor in good condition. too much restriction from a clogged filter, reduces the amount of fluid being pumped, which then strains the pump and motor. The pressure gauge on the sock filter housing, allows us to monitor how clogged the filter has become. Reading 0-10psi, indicates the filter is allowing sufficient amounts of fuel to pass. Once the needle moves beyond 10psi, it is time to shut the polisher down and replace the filter with a fresh one. We have 2 different types of sock filters available, which are 1 Micron Filters and 10 Micron Filters. The 1 Micron filters will remove ultra fine sediment, bacteria, parasites, sand, dirt, silt, rust, varnish, bio sludge etc. 10 Micron filters should be used for dirtier tanks, because they too will remove sand, dirt, varnish and bio sluge, without sacrificing the flow rate, increasing the life of a filter. These filters are expensive, lets use the right one, at the right time, for the correct amount of time, for the right job.
