- This video demonstrates some basic diagnostics for a Nintendo Switch that is not charging. We will take a look at voltage and diode mode values with our multi-meter in order to determine where the problem lies.
There are a number of common failures that the Nintendo Switch tends to experience outside of damage to the charge port. Primarily, we see the M92T36 charging IC short internally. At other times, the P13USB audio/video output IC may fail. In this case, neither of those were the issue and instead, it was necessary to replace a secondary IC that is involved with controlling the battery charging process. This chip, the BQ24193 is far less likely to fail but if you want to save yourself some time, it is worth narrowing things down before you start replacing parts using guesswork.

What if the first 2 caps to the left of the m92 are only showing 300? What would that indicate?
