Thanks for your videos. I am in Clarksville Tn and had left hand CTR 3 weeks ago bt Dr Cain at TOA. Last week I had my stitches out and was told to do manual massage so this video is helping alot I also started exercises the day of surgery just wiggling fingers and gained from there. But your videos are now my go to for rest of my recovery. I am going to have my right hand done probably in a month or more. These are handy to have for reference.

Why the heck wasn’t I told to start these exercises early. I wasn’t told to do anything other than 14 days after my surgery to use vitamin e oil to massage into my incision area 3 times a day. I also was told to leave it totally dressed until removal of my sutures.

Hello Ron, I had endoscopic carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand on Sept 25th 2018 and also I had the same surgery on my left hand on Oct. 23rd 2018. So as of today I’m 10 weeks with the right hand and 6 weeks with my left and I still have some trouble with opening doors and jars because of the pillar pain with my right hand and my left hand I still have a lot of pillar pain. I’ve been out of work waiting for my hands to heal. I will get some stabbing pains that shoot up thru my hands and I don’t even have to be doing anything. Any advice to make it heal faster?

I wish that I saw this earlier. I'm 6 weeks postop and no therapy or care instructions beyond, "Just use your hand as you normally would. " My hand is weak with limited range of motion. I hope that I haven't waited too late for these exercises to work.

If your wound is closed, soak your hand in dishwater hot water and work fingers. Then use your other hand to slowly push fingers into a fist. Only push them to mild pain. Do this 3-4 times per day. Once you have good movement, your strength should slowly recover. No it is not too late.

I got my surgery 17 days ago. The surgeon told me to move my hand immediately after surgery (slowly making a fist), after 5 days I got my stiches out and on 12th day I started to massage the bruise with cream. I have to say that the movement right afer surgery helped, because I can strech my hand very good. The only thing that hurts is the bruise when I massage it. The doctor said I have to use my hand right away because its the best physiotherapy.

That scar will be sore for a while. Don't be too aggressive with massage if it is too sore. No cream if wound is not closed all the way. and yes, use that hand as much as you can.

Is it best to reschedule surgery if I'm doing an Iron Infusion 6 days after? Not Anemic, replenishing iron saturation levels.
