I chose this and on my first game with a wirblewind and me 410 as backup I got 7 kills, no deaths. I thought that maybe it was a fluke and just luck but the next game I got 6... and no deaths. This thing is a MONSTER for ppl who have played nothing but America. People constantly saying that the strength of the us is mobility but this thing is so much more mobile its nuts. The gun is a dream, the armor is CHEESE, and the spotting with the laser rangefinder is just a match made in heaven. I could care less that it doesn't have thermals because its fine without it. This is the first time in a long time I've logged off War Thunder with a huge smile on my face.
I think it kinda cancels out, the armor package makes it less mobile and it actually has some trouble with climbing hills. The improved round is nice but you won't pen anything you couldn't pen before, and like with other tanks you should always be aiming for weakspots anyways because they cause the most damage.
in my opinion if u want to RP fast and gain silver lion...TAM 2IP would be a better investment compared to Leo L44 due to the scouting. just scout everything and u get bonus for it.

Specificly for Tam 2 IP it gets dm 33 rounds where as regular tam gets just dm 23 it has significantly better turret rotation speed (same as tam 2C) and it has better protection (composite screens) which doesn´t add any extra weight (it has same weight as regular tam) so in my opinion this thing should get moved up to 9,0 yes it doesn´t get thermals but its the same for Rad 90 and VFM 5 so I don´t see a reason why it should stay at 8,7, just like t-55am shouldn´t stay at 8,3
I mean Gaijin gotta make some money out of the FREE game right? But i also agree that it can surely do well at 9.0 because it has a good gun and everything can pen it at both 8.7 and 9.0 anyway lol

I bought it last thursday dm 33 at 8.7 br is lol but mostly i use it in 10.7 arcade games and its just as deadly there as in 8.7 i team it up with the leopard 2 pl and the brumbar :) works beautifully and its my first tam and it is a good times every time i take it out :)
Hey, I just got a 90% off discount on any GE premium out of nowhere, so any premium under 1000GE, would you recommend this TAM 2IP or the chinese 8.3 Wheeled one? They're the only tier 6 available for GE. Both costing around 850, I can only get one tho.
@sakosniper Look one more time of TAM composite armor again. You can't pen it with 340mm pen APFDS on it, the same go to hull and tower which have angle to ricochet most of apfds...

I've bounced bm42 rounds off this things front plate today . Its armour is more trolly than you think. Like the c2a1 it will mean nothing until someone with poor aim shows up. But then it will be glorious.

“You just need thermals at 8.7” I play Russia I’m used to not having thermals. We don’t get thermals on a tank until 10.0
Russia is at a significant disadvantage without thermals and it's incredibly frustrating on certain maps, being shot by things you can't see.
Although a premium. Isnt the Turms at 9.7?

I honestly like this tank better than the Leo L44. Way more maneuverable and survivable.
But it has no thermals and very bad sights, gun depression is also a big issue for it like on the other two TAMs.

Tracked 8.7 with 105mm DM33 and with better survivability than MBTs, its very good. You need thermals when you pretty much only camp lol

I got the 1 day test drive for the tam. Never played its br before but I still did pretty well in it, it's a very maneuverable tank I enjoyed it
