- Are sequels too much or should every movie get one?

Maybe animated studios should make episode series or a graphic novel to explain other things about what happened to the characters
Some franchises do that but they usually are disregarded as canon
There's so many books that would make fantastic movies that were never adapted but sure, just make pointless sequels to already existing movies forever

Although I still think that Toy Story 4 was a nice ending for the Toy Story series as a whole, I'd be happy to see how the ending of that film plays into Woody's mental health in Toy Story 5. Displaying how mentally healthy he is, ten or fifteen years down the road, and how being in a place of a healthy mind, free from the stress that he was put in in the first three films and the mid life crisis that he had in the fourth film, plays off of Buzz and the rest of the toys.

I know Many people nowadays are just getting really fed up with Movie companies pumping out more sequels And that is something I completely understand. But for me in my opinion I actually don't mind when a flim gets a sequel Just as long it has a good story to tell and does A good job of expanding the world and it's lore. And I am so glad you brought up Frozen 2 Because I completely agree with you It did a great job of expanding the world and again getting the new lore. And I am definitely very excited for Frozen 3 and i am Definitely Curious to see how This third installment in the franchise is gonna continue the story for Elsa And Anna and the Rest of the gang.
Let companies make sequels so they can continue working on their stories

I agree completely. I always am excited to revisit characters I love. I think frozen is great. I thought frozen 2 was great and frankly opened the world up to so so so many stories. My daughter got a hologram thing for Christmas and it’s kinda like a tomagotchi. How would woody and buzz interact with that? Jokes about the Barbie movie. Cell phone apps. Idk there is so much they can do
Yeah as long as a sequel is good it was a good choice to make. I’m happy Toy Story 4 was made and am optimistic about Toy Story 5.

they seriously could have stopped at toy story 3 when andy gives away his toys a cute ending and a wholesome moment but no! they had to make another i hope it was ts3 i hope i dont say wrong xD if so i apologize...
I love continuations of the og characters
But what I hate about sequels as they go on is they loose the charm and heart from the first films
The movies become more comedic loud mouth new characters who won't shut up
rushed climax and endings
dialogue that makes characters say something awkward for comic effect
it's nice to see how the animation has improved over the years that details are seen with the fur, textures, background props, dirt, sand etc
And also what I really hate about sequels is sometimes they ruin the characters arc or personality

They make the main character go through another arc which is fine but sometimes they're arc is repeated
Personality of the main character is also ruined over a franchise

If I'm allowed to say a movie that I think only needs one sequel and one that I believe need a sequel. Terminator only needed one sequel with just having Terminator 2 and Hulk 2003 is underrated that I believe deserves a sequel.
Yeah, some movies have bad part 3s. Home Alone and The Godfather's third movies sucked.
Althought money is the major factor when it comes to making a movie. People aren't going to see it unless the writers have a story worth telling for themselves and others or at least an attempt to expand the world of the film. And that applies to bad sequals too like shrek 3 although charming would not work as a full villian since he does not have the same logical power or influence as the fairy godmother it was the most logical for him to have a strong presenst in the film showing shrek's actions following him.
Although wish is not a sequal in fact its more of a prequel althought i have heard that it's not well received i do think there was an attempt at introducing the the world of the disney animated films by giving orgin to artifacts and locations.

The lead creators for the animated studios has stepped down which makes unlikely a franchise would need more sequels!!!!

Kungfu panda is a story that flows from 1 movie the next perfectly so obviously its going to get more sequels, The thrid film wasn't the final chapter But i do think 4 will be the final chapter. The point of kungfu panda is taking on a new identity and the films work on each movie until po can earn
the body
the mind
the spirit
and the heart of your perfect self and excepting that new identity. And each villain challenged those aspects po had
Tailung was the one who challenged pos physical capability, Shen challenged the mind by mentally abusing Po through his spiteful words and messed with his head. And kai captured all of his friends and former masters to try and break Pos spirit to make it seem impossible for him to win.
But low and behold, he overcame all of those challenges. He mastered his own style of kungfu to beat tailung. In the final scene with shen he overcame his nasty plots and found inner peace, and he managed to defeat Kai and become the master of Chi.
in kungfu panda 4 its time for the chameleon to put all of those previous challenges in 1 final test, all of his previous foes working together with a new foe.
this time all 3 villains are stronger than ever before and all of them will push Po to his breaking point, but even after he overcomes them...he must beat the chameleon. Although we don't know much about her just yet...she will do something that will put pos heart to the test and by the end of Kung fu panda 4. Po will become a spiritual warrior and officially surpass oogway and rest eternally in the spirit world...earning the Body, Mind, Spirit and Heart of his perfect self.
Toy Story 5 will most likely be the worst out of these
