We need flosstube MEDALS. You should get the first one. Admire your plan to watch the games & get a boat load of stitching done, to boot. Good plan. Great stitching planned.
Happy stitchyolympics ❤ I have 2 going, counting stitches with olympic related words - one in English, the second in Finnish! I too really enjoy watching the olympics, the athletes and stitching while watching. I too have the Gnomes olympics to work on 💞🤗
I so enjoy your updates and all your stitching. You have accomplished so much!! I day dream of the days when life is a bit slower and I can watch 8 hours of Olympics and stitch. You e earned it!! Enjoy.
Thank You!! Yes, that phase of life will come to you as well :) But when my children were young, and then when I was working full-time, it felt like I would be in that stage of life forever!!!
I went to Elsa Williams School Of Needlework in Massachusetts. She was in California then. I took a class there. I loved her stitchery. She was known for her crewel stitchery. We had lunch there. Her home had once belonged to Winslow Homer the artist. She did crewel work on her upholstered chairs in her living room. She did every bedroom upstairs in different types of stitchery. Quilts, needlepoint, crewel etc. at lunch we sat at a glass top table where we could see the chair seats matched the China. Beautiful. We had cold asparagus soup etc delicious. What a fun class. I still have the crewel patterns in cloth from that trip.
I love your Houses. From a distance, the barn looks like a weird Santa in the video. 😂 Your Elsa Williams piece is so beautiful. I would never have looked at it twice with the picture on the pattern. Your plans are great. Have fun!
Hi Brenda. Hope your retreat goes/went well. Good luck with your Olympics goals! Love the gnomes 😂. Looking forward to seeing your Wee Village sone time after the Games finish. ⚘️
Looks like fun! I’m already planning to participate in thenaptimestitcher challenges, but I like your challenge for the number of medals we win each day. My son likes to track statistics and he usually likes to follow our medal count. I’m thinking I could work on my “travel” piece for those numbers of minutes, since I don’t get as much time on that one during the summer. Thanks for the inspiration!
Hi Brenda I love your planning for your projects set up for the Olympic's. I have been stitching on my Christmas in July projects and enjoying them. I went to Stitchery X-Press the other day and all I can say is WOW!!!! This store is amazing and I live only 5 minutes away from my home. Guess where I will be shopping. Brenda if and when you are out this way to Stitchery X-Press please let me know I would love to meet you. Cindy and Brook loved seeing you last time at their store. I turn 72 on my birthday this Saturday. I will be stitching that day and may go out with my hubby to dinner. Brenda you are person that I admire and talented and gifted lady. In the meantime Happy Stitching and be safe and kind. God bless Pat
Thank You Pat!!!!! So glad you found Stitchery X-Press! And I am envious that you only live five minutes away!! Yes, I will let you know next time I will be there :)
I just absolutely LOVE how organized you are....love it! This and the revolving Maynia over the years is in my wheel house. Wish I could participate in some of that but I never have more than 2 pieces going at a time.
Thank You Dorothy! Sometimes I think I enjoy the organizing as much as the stitching, lol! Two pieces at a time is fabulous!!! Whatever works for you is the best!
Brenda....oh how I love your best laid plans!! You are a GOLD STITCHER in my book!! I love the sameness and do ability...so I'm m just going to stitch my behind off during this time frame and try to finish some OLD WIPS!! HAPPY STITCHING TODAY AND EVERYDAY IN 2024!!
Gosh, you are so productive! I love the Gnomes piece you are starting, so cute! I remember your stitching for the winter games two years ago. Seeing your notes from then brought back some good memories.
I love how you plan your challenges and that you´re so enthusiastic about them! Thanks for the idea of a Olympics challenge! I made my own by assigning each sport a theme, so for example riding would be "something with an animal" or surfing would be "something with water". I then looked through my wips to find matching wips to the themes and work on them on the day when there is an event. I tried to find a match for every one of my wips and I think I did it. Now to see if I can really stitch on every one of them during the Olympics... 😄 Greetings from Germany
Oh what fun! I too will be watching the games as much as I can and appreciate you sharing your medal ideas. I will figure some out for my efforts and hope to get a few golds! Love this idea!
@@Handworkmaniac I just got a gold medal for completing The Santa House begun in February. Stitched most of the Opening Ceremony and Saturday! Now trying for Gold on Summer. Have done all but the last two letters E and R. Will get gold if I finish today…Silver for tomorrow, Bronze if finished on Wednesday!
Thank you for your video. You are so ambitious! I'm just going to work on my Gnomes, whenever I can. I am looking forward to seeing your progress and your medal count! You said a different hastag than you listed in your info. Which is it, I would like to post my progress on my Gnomes on it. Take care and happy stitching!
Hi Christine! So glad you are stitching the gnomes as well, you just have to stitch when you can right? Sorry about the different hashtags! I will check both hashtags, but the one in the notes is the correct one :)

I have never done a full coverage nor have I done the parking method while stitching. If you have any tips for this I'll take them :)
Thank You Melanie!!! Oh my goodness I have a degree in Anthropology and love archaeology!! My daughter Catherine made a video showing how she does the parking method (Video #12 on my channel) and I showed a little about about how I do it in video #100. There are so many different parking methods, you just have to find the one that you like the best :)
Fabulous plans! I’m getting back into stitching after a couple of decades. The cross stitching world has changed a lot since I last worked Dimensions GOLD stockings for my children and grandchildren. Or maybe I’ve just been clueless. 😊 Question: I’ve begun collecting the Fabulous House pattern series. However, I’ve not started them. I would like to stitch all of them on one piece of fabric as you are, but I’d like to start with house #2 (January-ish) so that the houses correspond somewhat to the 12 months. Therefore Houses #11 and #1 would coincide with October and December. I know. I know. This is my project. But I would like your thoughts. Btw, seeing your Fabulous Houses is what prompted me to order the released patterns last month. 🏠 ❤
Thank You! Ohhhh, I bet your stockings are just stunning!!! I think your idea to change the order of the houses sounds fabulous! They are all the same size so you could stitch them in any order you want :)
Thank you! I was planning to wait until January 1 to begin, however, I might not be able to wait. Especially after seeing yours. Hope you enjoyed your retreat.
Thank you. I love your program. I am planning on adopting some of the pieces but not all of them. It will get me started in the right direction. I have never done a full coverage piece and would love for you to show how you use the parking method while doing full coverage.
Thank You Martha! Definitely do what works for you and makes you happy :) I think I showed how I do a full coverage piece in Video #100. There are so many different ways to do the parking method and lots of videos out there that explain it :)
How is retirement going? A few two weeks now at least? Alternate pieces if one falls out😂😂😂 The houses look great! I don’t count stitches or hours for stitching….. I’m just glad I can a couple of stitches in per day. This employment gig really gets in the way.😂😂
