1) The opening scene with the Bowery King is from Dante and is Lucifer descending into hell (the gates of Hell have "abandon hope, all ye who enter here"). Metaphorically, he is opening the gates to hell and releasing John Wick on their common enemies. 2) With the Osaka scenes (choreography, lighting, and music) we now know who needs to make a live-action Cyberpunk movie. 3) The crazy thing about Donnie Yen's swordsmanship here is that it is NOT sped up with digital effects. He actually can stab that fast.
So happy he said this movie franchise has the best action choreography ever with the exception of The Raid, The Raid finally gets the recognition it deserves!
What a cast in this one, 2 and 3 had some fun appearances but this one is such a banger. Donnie Yen, Skarsgard, Clancy Brown and my personal favorite Hiroyuki Sanada. Dudes such a G
The actor you don't remember the name is *Hiroyuki Sanada* ; at 11 he started training with Sonny Chiba in the Japan Action Club. Also played in the Ring movie, Rush Hour 3 (Kenji). And played my childhood hero Hayato Gen in the late 70's TV serie Ginga Taisen (imagine a veeeery low budget Japanese StarWars with ninjas replacing jedi/sith, a space fairy in a sailing boat shaped spaceship, society organised mostly in villages, villains behaving like some in WWII, all spaceships looking dusty and old (giving them an antique cachet, and emphases that the good people can only fight the tyrany with what they find, and absolutely no external backup (only the space fairy who can herself be in danger sometimes)))
If you didn't notice, when Winston puts his hand on John's tombstone he has a tattoo on his hand that is the mark of I believe the same family that John belonged to
I watched it in the cinema as I had unfortunately missed the others there. JW 4 was one of the best experiences I've ever had in a cinema. Every scene I thought wasn't going to be topped and it just gets topped again. Chad Stahelski really put his time, effort, heart and soul into these movies and made sure he upped the ante each time. Props to Keanu too he was 57 when this was shot and thats just ridiculous to me.
I love that the ending is open to interpretation as to whether John is alive or not. For example, John was shot in the same spots as where he shot the doc in Chapter 3. Also, his doggo looks off to the side when they're at the gravesite as if he's reacting to seeing John. That being said, I prefer to believe that John is at peace and with his best friend, Helen.
Have loved them all! Sure, he was becoming a caricature of himself but still... The Club, Roundabout and over heard dragons breath shotgun scenes were most incredible along with the soundtrack! So much so 3 trips to seeing it in IMAX were required. ❤❤❤
Love Steven's "never judge a book by its cover" comment about how Killa the heavyset German was able to fight John Wick. For anyone who doesn't know the actor who played Killa, I'm sure such a big dude having such fighting chops was a surprise. But for anyone who knows that Killa was portrayed by Scott Adkins in a fat suit, there were no surprises. I highly recommend that N&S React checks out some Scott Adkins movies. Avengement and Undisputed 2, 3, and 4 are must-watch films for the fight choreography alone. Also, Close Range is just non-stop action, and Accident Man 1 & 2 are fantastic fun. Scott Adkins is one of the best fighters in action movies, period. He's studied many forms of martial arts, but his acrobatics and kicking skills are second to none. It's a shame he's only just being discovered by the masses now. He also does a RUclips channel called The Art of Action where he interviews legendary and B movie action stars. Keanu Reeves was interviewed about a month ago, if anyone wants to check it out!
What always makes me wonder, and this may be a reach, is if Winston was John Wicks dad. He is the only one who calls him Jonathan which most parents use the real name and a not a shorted or Nick name for their children. He puts his life and everything he has on the line for him for no apparent reason other than what friendship? Doubt it. He also says rest easy my son at the end of the movie. Just a thought 😎
Of all the amazing action and crazy shit going on in this movie, my favorite scene is the church scene before the third act between John and Caine, it’s such a great scene that just felt so…human, it’s about two old friends facing their inevitability together, even if it’s the first time we see these two meets, we still feel the years of brotherhood from their interactions
Lance will truly be missed. This movie was freaking amazing it was an anime/videogame roller coaster from beginning to end. I like to think Mr. Nobody is an actual "Nobody" like the movie "Nobody". They can bring John back if they want or do some spinoffs with the other characters Cane, Akira, Mr. Nobody. John's final scene was such a Cowboy Bebop, the anime one, type of moment. If you have seen the anime you know what I mean. Man I loved this movie.
Nikki and Steven's reactions never disappoint. Greatest action movie that I've ever seen, this franchise is legendary. The cinematography and choreography are gorgeous. Keanu Reeves is a national treasure.
Tracker almost has a consistent smile on his face, this is a man that loves his job. There are a few moments when you get the thought "are they being self aware" because John is very much in a live action videogame, this movie is very gamified. Then there's a crazy fight scene in the road and it reaaaaly feels like they know it, and then a little bit later the camera does something super unique (for movies) and cool and just about every gamer on the planet has seen this angle before and that clinches it, they absolutely know this is Saint's Row 4 and the rules are out the window.
Can we acknowledge how kick butt Cain is without a stupid he can sense everything ability. He clearly fights blind. Swings wildly and fires in a line rather than just one spot
The overhead view building fight with the 'dragon breath' shotgun was worth the price of admission. They had to have the dragon breath shells so you could track Wick moving. The scene seems to be one-shot but I think there are some places where he goes through a doorway that would have been easy cuts (no idea, I didn't look at it frame by frame but one of them looked like a cut). But yeah... best scene of the movie.
@@NikkiStevenReact YES! I have been waiting for you guys to react to this! I absolutely love you guy’s reaction to these movies, I from time to time go back and rewatch the others cause Nikki’s commentaries cracks me up.🤣🤣
What I hated about the movie is how John Wick came off as invincible & the fact that he fell from a 4 story building and then walked away like nothing happened......

39:07 You probably remember Natalie Tena from either Game of Thrones or Harry Potter. She had recurring roles in both. There was also one episode of Mandalorian I believe in the first season.
I still love the fact they put in the homage to 'The Warriors'. About lost my mind when that scene came up. Was one of my favorite films growing up and used to always catch it on TNT.
The best action movie ever for me. Watched it in theatres. It was an amazing experience. The dragon shot scene is the best ever scene I ever saw in the cinema. 10/10 movie 🔥
Director Chad Stahelski is a movie buff, and as such, has taken inspiration from several titles for John Wick 4, including the "I am Groot" piece of dialogue said by a certain MCU tree in Guardians of the Galaxy. Originally, "I am Klaus" was simply supposed to be stand-in dialogue and changed later once the part was cast, but Stahelski thought it would be more interesting to leave the dialogue as is with the explanation, "I’ve met James Gunn and I think he’s a hilarious guy, so we’ll just tip off ‘I am Groot’.” (via Letterbox). Not only does it work as an homage to Groot, but it also makes Klaus just as distinct in the John Wick franchise.
The radio bit, was taken from the movie The Warriors...there was a lady DJ telling all the gangs the update on the Warriors progress on getting home to Brooklyn. Before that there is a movie called Vanishing Point, where a blind Black Soul DJ was telling a fugitive running from the police what was going on, on air.
Fun reaction to all of the John Wick movies, thanks! You might check out the Ip Man movies with Donnie Yen at some point. The dragons breath scene was one of the best fight sequences in the series. BTW, Dragon’s Breath are a pyrotechnic type of shotgun shell.
Charon is the name of the Ferry Man that carries the souls across the rivers Styx and Acheron, also the Hand that John had was the Dead Mans hand aces and eights with a Queens of hearts is the hand that WIld Bill Hickok was holding when he was killed most poker players see it as bad luck.
The whole race against time in France scenes with the DJ is actually a homage to the movie named The Warriors, which came out in 1979. Also, that DJ has targeted the gang in every announcement and backed it up with a decent song.
@@Parallax-3D That's true as hell brother. His character's name was Luther in the movie and he was leading the gang named The Rogues. He was the one to plot The Warriors for the killing at the Van Cortland Park.
The chick who repunched John's ticket was also in Game of Thrones. She was a Wildling who helped the two stark boys survive. Also the whole radio girl was used in that 70's movie The Warriors.
The actor that plays the big guy Killa was in a fat suit and he is a professional martial arts expert named Scott Adkins he's in a big handful of martial arts movies really friendly and cool guy you two should watch some of his movies sometimes especially avengement and Ninja you two would love those movies also love your guys reaction as always ps the guy that told john and cane they were free is Clancy Brown the voice of mr. Interesting thing about arrows: While Kevlar body armor is capable in various configurations of stopping most pistol and some rifle rounds, an arrow (especially one with a broad head tip) can usually penetrate the kevlar enough to make a fatal wound.
Let's honor John Wick for love too. This character showed us true love again in movies, in a time that hook up culture is destroying our world. He only thinks about his love and everything is about her. He only loves her even after her death. He mentioned I wanna live just to remember her. He doesn't go around and pick another love. because true love is one. he only thinks about his wife. that's something important to show to ppl these days. which is true love.
John definitely isn’t dead, as it’s now been confirmed by the studio that John Wick 5 is in early development 😁 lol also on peacock there will be a 3 part prequel show called The Continental, about young Winston in the 1970s. And a spin off called Ballerina with Ana de Armas, set between 3 and 4. About a ballerina assassin from the Ruska Roma group trying to avenge the death of her parents.
The actor , who is the leader of his family in Berlin is the only actor to hit all major franchises. She was in GOT as the wildling that took care of Bran. She was in Harry Potter as one of the bad witches, John wick 4, Star Wars The Mandalorian. Her name is Nataila Tena.
Dead or not it was a nice ending. Now I do ponder if we get a Cain story. Would love to see it as well as Mr. Nobody. These 2 characters where sett up and left open to develop their own story.
If anyone is sad that this series is seemingly at an end (unless they decide to do a John Wick Prequel series or something which I don't think is likely, but also not impossible) all you have to remember is one thing; I am Klaus... I am Klaus!
My question: what franchise in the future could ever top these fight scenes, settings, & of course, Keanu Reeves? For me, it's once in a lifetime. Good luck to future generations because this is how you do it.
I think Chad Stahelski could pull it off. He is now experienced as well as his team, as much as I love Keanu Reeves, imagine what could be done with a young actual martial artist and how they could go even further with the fight scenes.
You could literally say that at any moment in time, about any action film or franchise that is good. People were saying the same things until an unknown relatively small movie called John Wick was came out. Somebody will top it, that's the nature of progress and I can't wait. Most won't, but someone will raise the bar.
@@FalconCooper I think Sam Hargrave is better, to be honest. But it's a preference thing. "Gun fu" versus whatever Extraction was. They're both the best in the game right now.
I hope they don't make a John Wick Chapter 5...BUT IF THEY DO...I hope it's an origin movie: show us how Jardani Jovonovich got his start; how he met his wife; his first encounter with the Bowery King; how he helped Sofia and her daughter; show us the "impossible task" that Viggo gave him, and that Santino helped him with so he could retire; and end with his wife flatlining, which leads into the first John Wick movie.
The radio DJ in Paris was a nice nod to The Warriors from 1979, which starred the guy who played Charlie, the head of the clean-up crew from the Wick franchise: "WARRIORS… COME LUT TO PLAY-AAAY!!" Classic.
The ending of this film could have many different outcomes that we may not be aware of. Is he actually dead? He might not be. All we know is, John Wick 5 is in production and Keanu is back. He's also co-starring alongside the ballerina from the third film for another movie and he may also appear in the Continental miniseries too. Keanu Reeves has mentioned that he is willing to continue being John Wick a few more times. This movie may depict his ending, but there's definitely more stories that they have yet to show us of the Baba Yaga.
I can beat Donnie Yen and Keanu at the same time in a boxing match...on Modern Warfare. Also, if they fought my "Blade Master" character, they would both lose...even if they team up against the great "Kyle Blade." My Blade Master has the powers, abilities, items, skills, knowledge, and everything that ALL fake or real mortals have. He has the strength of King Kong (2005), has the nanobots from Big Hero Six, can predict future moves that any enemy will do, can control metal with a magnet (Magneto powers basically), has juggernaut armor, minigun that shoots small crossbow bolts or bullets with tiny blades or spikes on the tips of them, he has a few guns that shoot bladed bullets, all his bullets/blades are made out of adamantium, he has blades on him, he has a bunch of poison spikes sticking out from his armor, and has a crossbow like Daryl Dixon. He also has other special suits he can put on such as an iron man suit, war machine suit, T-3000 suit (Terminator), T-1000 suit, and a Terminator suit (with him being able to control metal he can heal himself and this version of the T-800 or T-850 as an adamantium skeleton. He is also a professional magician and could make T-800, T-850, T-X (female one), T-1000, and the T-3000 appear out of nowhere with a magic trick and have them hunt Donnie and John down. Also, Blade Master has a big backpack that holds various things such as ammo and blades. He has ring blades in there and can use his magnet ability to have them orbit around him pretty fast in order to make a "sharp force shield." If someone gets too close, they get cut. Without the blades going around him, if someone gets too close, they get stabbed by the spikes on him and die from the poison. Blade Master would easily win against these two at the same time. He can keep Wolverine or X-24 at bay and demolish the Terminators because of his magnet powers. 55:30, "Getting Over It".
I’m pretty sure John is dead (I hope), but we didn’t really get a hard confirmation of it. We did get loads of foreshadowing throughout the movie though (being asked what to put on his tombstone, him eventually giving an answer, him saying hello to the dead, etc.) and the way the 2 closest people to him throughout this series talk about him like he’s actually dead makes me think he is. It also makes some sense because he gets to be with his wife.
There is symmetry to the John wick films. JW 1: John retires-John comes back; JW2: John haunts the last every family member/associates of that russian oligarch- John runs from the assassins; JW3: John leaves NYC- John comes back to NYC; JW4: start of the film everything is before or during sunset- end of the film everything is before or during sunrise. The metaphorical Dante infero and Dante Paradiso.
John punching at the beginning was such an pleasure in cinema. As like he was punching my ears. What a way to start the chapter. Im glad I experienced it in cinema.

So happy he said this movie franchise has the best action choreography ever with the exception of The Raid, The Raid finally gets the recognition it deserves!
It's extra sad because Lance Reddick is really gone. RIP Mr. Concierge
You asked about a kill count?
Chapter 1: 77
Chapter 2: 128
Chapter 3: 94
Chapter 4: 140
Overall: 439
So about a hundred more than Jack Bauer...
Does that make Kieffer and Keanu the most lethal Canadians ever?
John wick - He grieved
John wick 2- He Raged
John wick 3- He bargained
John wick 4- He Accepted
John wick 5- He Resurrected
What a cast in this one, 2 and 3 had some fun appearances but this one is such a banger. Donnie Yen, Skarsgard, Clancy Brown and my personal favorite Hiroyuki Sanada. Dudes such a G
Yeah, the whole Skarsgård family is amazing. Such talent under one name!
If you didn't notice, when Winston puts his hand on John's tombstone he has a tattoo on his hand that is the mark of I believe the same family that John belonged to
Yup. And I believe Winston is John’s dad. I’m hoping the spinoff series will be Winston falling in love with John’s mom….
@@michaelberry1382 ohhhh. Now that would be interesting and quite a twist!
And Daisy 😢
I noticed that as well when the dog looks away from the gravesite. Caught the scent of his master...?
@@frankbiondo3624 Apparently there was an alternate ending where the dog looks over and sees John in the graveyard
I saw a headline the other day that Part 5 is in the early planing stages.
@@Himonly414 is there a video to actually see this deleted scene?
Johnathan isn't his full name
I think that him being his father in law makes more sense
Its awesome that big dude plays as scott adkins. A really good martial artist fighter.
This movie blew my mind. And I have to say that everyone did a fantastic job. Especially Scott Atkins as Killa, totally knocked it out of the park
Unexpected but so so good!!
32:05 "I am Klaus" is the most funny part in this movie 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
For those wondering why the bow & arrows worked so well, most (soft-type) ballistic armor does not work well against stabbing/piercing attacks.
The warriors reference was potentially one of the best things about this movie
The overhead view building fight with the 'dragon breath' shotgun was worth the price of admission. They had to have the dragon breath shells so you could track Wick moving. The scene seems to be one-shot but I think there are some places where he goes through a doorway that would have been easy cuts (no idea, I didn't look at it frame by frame but one of them looked like a cut). But yeah... best scene of the movie.
That was absolutely incredible
@@NikkiStevenReact YES! I have been waiting for you guys to react to this! I absolutely love you guy’s reaction to these movies, I from time to time go back and rewatch the others cause Nikki’s commentaries cracks me up.🤣🤣
What I hated about the movie is how John Wick came off as invincible & the fact that he fell from a 4 story building and then walked away like nothing happened......
@@tamidobi856 He was limping but ok that's the least they can show you
It's a movie after all
@@tamidobi856 I mean, it’s either take leap of faith or get shot up and die. It also was actually from the 3rd floor. Don’t forget John was shot off the roof of The Continental and walked away from that.🤷🏻
CLANCY BROWN:
(Harbinger) "Under the old laws, only one can survive."
(Kurgan) "There can be only one!"
39:07 You probably remember Natalie Tena from either Game of Thrones or Harry Potter. She had recurring roles in both. There was also one episode of Mandalorian I believe in the first season.
Thank you! She looked so familiar to me as well but couldn't point out where from.
My favorite was the oner in an abandoned building and it was an aerial shot from room to room! So freaking good!
I've been waiting for your reaction ever since the movie came out now it's finally here 🎉🤠😁
I saw this film in IMAX. It was pure adrenaline and madness, and I loved every minute of it. Great reaction! 👍🏿
I just love Nikki's reactions she literally says the same things I said when I watched these movies ❤
The action in this movie is non stop, but it when it gets to the dialogue, that's when you take your restroom break.
the story is nonsense of course but the dialogue is usually pretty good.
@@eighteen-naked-cowboys "YeEEeEeAaAAhh!" There's 40% of the dialogue for ya.
The whole race against time in France scenes with the DJ is actually a homage to the movie named The Warriors, which came out in 1979. Also, that DJ has targeted the gang in every announcement and backed it up with a decent song.
Fun fact: Charlie, the head of the cleaning crew from JW1, was the main antagonist in “The Warriors.” The actor’s name is David Patrick Kelly.
@@Parallax-3D That's true as hell brother. His character's name was Luther in the movie and he was leading the gang named The Rogues. He was the one to plot The Warriors for the killing at the Van Cortland Park.
Laurence fishburne reciting Dantés inferno made me so happy
What a movie! Glad you guys enjoyed it as much as I did. Had to go see it in theaters tho.
54:34 Kill counts I've seen put the total at around 280-285 for films 1, 2, and 3. After 4, it's over 400.
Like i said before, when Winston said farewell my son, was John Winston's son or maybe his son in law? John Wick 5 is in the works!
The line that says "I know a guy that knows a guy" and the reference with the dragons breath is from the movie Constantine.
The chick who repunched John's ticket was also in Game of Thrones. She was a Wildling who helped the two stark boys survive. Also the whole radio girl was used in that 70's movie The Warriors.
Scott Adkins is in the house, what a John Wick throwdown.
Krabs from SpongeBob
1:09:45 Those nun-chucks. I thought it was HILARIOUS how he was just slapping the ever loving shit out of one guy like the naughty, red headed stepchild with them.
Guys, you definately have to watch Undisputed 2,3,4 with Scott Adkins (the poker guy). Great fighting scenes in there
Saw this when it first came out in theaters but I'm really glad I got to enjoy it with you guys. This was AWESOME! Best one yet. Oh and the penguin looking guy is Scott Adkins...one of the best martial artist to do it on screen. Glad he got his shot to be in this
Interesting thing about arrows: While Kevlar body armor is capable in various configurations of stopping most pistol and some rifle rounds, an arrow (especially one with a broad head tip) can usually penetrate the kevlar enough to make a fatal wound.
The concierge played by Lance Reddick also played the LAPD chief in the Bosch series.
A series well worth watching also!
my fav character of his is also the 1st one I saw him as... Broyles from the Fringe series
Darn incredible! Donnie Yen was just fantastic.
Bill Skarsgard also played pennywise
Fun fact Clancy Brown (the Harbinger from the High table) is the voice of Mr Krabs
Also the dog barks came from me. Proud to be of service ✊🏽
Nikki literally said that when they show his face at the beginning 😂😂
yes its mentioned in the video, maybe watch before commenting?
I must of missed that. I only heard them asking if he was a Skarsgard.
The actor , who is the leader of his family in Berlin is the only actor to hit all major franchises. She was in GOT as the wildling that took care of Bran. She was in Harry Potter as one of the bad witches, John wick 4, Star Wars The Mandalorian. Her name is Nataila Tena.
Ohhhhh is that who she is. I knew I knew her but couldn't place her. Thank you!
Yep, although she wasn't a bad witch in _Harry Potter_ but one of the Order of the Phoenix who eventually married (and died with) Remus Lupin.
Dead or not it was a nice ending. Now I do ponder if we get a Cain story. Would love to see it as well as Mr. Nobody. These 2 characters where sett up and left open to develop their own story.
The Dragon’s breath John used in that scene was incredible. It looked like the gameplay from Hotline Miami 2.
If anyone is sad that this series is seemingly at an end (unless they decide to do a John Wick Prequel series or something which I don't think is likely, but also not impossible) all you have to remember is one thing;
I am Klaus... I am Klaus!

As soon as I saw Wick's pit bull look around, I knew he wasn't dead. The assassin is dead not the man. (Plus Chapter 5 has been confirmed😉).
La ame tanto que la vi 5 veces en el cine 😊😊😊😊😊
Hiroyuki Sanada is the japanese actor Steven. I'm glad he's getting more exposure in Western cinema.
