Im guessing something is wrong with your zephyrus. Considering the same device on your chart with a 4070 consistently beat both devices in the cpu benchmarks by quite a margin. This performance also doesnt correspond with other reviewers like jarred.
Did you upgrade RAM in G14 2023 while doing the comparison tests or it had stock 16GB? As shown in one of your previous video, G14 2023 showed drastic change in performance when upgraded to 32GB RAM.
Can you review the Acer Predator Triton 17x? Please as there are no in depth reviews of it and it’s a beast of a laptop for 2023 with a 250hz mini LED 17 inch screen option.
Thanks for the great Review. For the Lenovo Slim 5 I have some concerns about the Oled Screen because it may burn in (and also without Gsync), I'm not sure If I get this one or I switch to MAC OS with a Macbook M2 Pro , indeed there is a difference in price between those 2 (around 600$ at the moment) but I really want something powerful for Video Editing and Photoshop (will game from time to time but will use it mainly for work). Ben what are your thoughts?
If you have any intentions whatever to use windows software or game then forget Mac. If you purely want to edit and use Photoshop then Mac is gonna have superior build quality and ridiculous battery life, absolutely silent, etc etc
I really like it. The ram is no issue for me because if we get the 32 gb then it should be enough. However, I'm worried about it not having a G-sync or free-sync. Most laptops with this price point have it. Let me know guys if you have any issues with screen tearing and input lack.
No problems with tearing for me. I use 120 Hz mode with VSYNC enabled, though.
G14 has that built in by default
Hi, does Slim 5 USB 3.2 port able support display out from universal thunderbolt docking station? Eg HP G5 dock
I bought the Lenovo with 32GB RAM. It’s been flawless. I mostly play Diablo 4 and Forza Horizon 5.
But it doesn’t have gsync right?
G14 for sure more look like a sleeker design a aesthetic look but still super powerful for gaming compact
I just bought the Lenovo slim 5 2 days ago i hope im happy, i hope the Oled Reflections are ok is there any Screen Stuff for Antireflective for it if it Reflects too much? maybe it will be fine we will see i like the Stats and the 14inch Size thats why i got it only concern is the Screen Reflection
So, what do you think 4 months later?
Which would you get for the same price?
I have both in front of me right now.. but the G14 has a 4080. I’m trying desperately to justify keeping the 4080, but this Legion Slim 5 is giving me a serious dilemma. The screen is just absolutely stunning, it runs seriously cool, and the overall build is just superior. I wanted to not like the Legion Slim 5 but I’m thinking it will keep a permanent place as my travel gamer. And Lenovo running a sale right now to get it with 32g of RAM for $1281 out the door?? Game over.
That g14 chassis is gonna restrict that 4080. Go for that oled :)
@@epico5805 Yea, for sure. The performance is pretty impressive on it, but I know it ain’t like a 16” or even 18” chassis. The keyboard runs really pretty warm, unlike the Legion.
soldered RAM is a deal breaker for me for the Legion, also the dimensions is more of a 15" laptop size hence the better performance Ben is getting
@@MyronZhao I would normally agree with you. But if you upgrade to the 32g of RAM @ DDR5 6400, I just can’t imagine ever needing more as a casual gamer. To me the more limiting factor is the 4060. I’d die to have a 4080 option.
@@epico5805not as much as you’d think. The 4080 is still a huge 30-40% jump in GPU performance over the 4070 model.
Is Lenovo Legion Slim 5 14-inch better than Asus rog zephyrus G15?
Yup
right now the legion 5 slim is 1479 dollars and the g14 is 1200 the g14 got more portability but i think saving 280 dollars for the g14 is no brainer
I got the Lenovo Legion Slim 32gig in the black friday sale a much better deal than ASUS and the G14 was hard to find in stock in Australia (and more expensive).
How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking? Just to compare to current deals.
Hello Ben, can you make an OLED care video that I can't see other RUclipsrs make a video about. how to take care of OLED screens and how to prevent OLED burn-in. in the future, I would like to buy Lenovo slim 5 14
Just enable OLED screen protection feature in the Vantage software and use Windows dark mode and you’ll be fine
Whats better Ben, an OLED 14.5 inch or 100% DCI-P3 IPS 16 inch display?
I would rather have the OLED just for the everyday
Iam getting a version in which 16GB RAM is soldered and cannot be expanded. It doesn’t have a Gsync. Should I still consider it over g14?
G14 has upgradable ram slot and gsync
I prefer the look of the G14 or G15. Gamer look is a cool look
Which are the 14" competitors for heavy video + graphics editing?
Seems like we gotta wait for the 2024 model of the G14....
I really like the Legion Slim 5i 14
How do you not mention the slim 5 is an oled display and the g14 is an ips display. Do u not think people would prefer an oled?
I chose the 2022 G14 over the 2023
I hope in 2024 they work more on the thermals
Still happy with the G14? Would you still choose these if you had the chance again?
I'm in that dilemma: 2022 ($800) or 2023 ($970), what do you suggest?
i bought zephyrus g14 6700s edition because of ur video .. just wanna thank you for the amazing review really
I would still prefer g14
just ordered the 4060 g14
Watching on Asus G14 2022, I still prefer G14 though xD WHITE IS JUSTICE!! xD
Gaming laptops without gaming performance?
Isnt the Slim 5 screen a little bit bigger? I though G14 was 14 inch and Slim 5 is 14.5 inch
Yes, it was weird how he says the screens are the same the Lenovo is OLED and 14.5 inches. The G14 I think it’s just LED and is 14 inches… The OLED is a big win for me and that why I got the Lenovo.
the problem is, just mention the battery watt of the laptops both
the bottom of my asus zephyrus g14 is peeling/cracking off bc of this garbage CNC-magnesium chassis. i wanna replace it with a harder metal 14in laptop
Legion also comes with Ryzen 9 upgrade
Its actually not same size screens lenovo is 14.5
Nice try from Lenovo but G14 is still a great 14inch laptop.
True
Do you have both, have tested both and can even afford both? Lol. I switched from the G14 to the Lenovo Slim 5 14.5. Its a superior laptop, thats just it.
for me its a little too big compared to the g14 i have with the 2060@@j.e9971
Ugh still don’t know which laptop to get. Someone help lol. Need a great performing, battery and not too heavy!
@@KalvinPatelg14 because better batter life.
The cpu is running at a lower wattage just around 35W I guess.
Would you recommend 32GB Ryzen 7 or 16GB Ryzen 9?
The first.
@@tilu8696 Thanks but I already got the latter 🥲
14.5 vs 14 not same size
g14 is $1100 right now, slim 5 is $1040 .
Right after this video the g14 got much cheaper, the g14 is now 200 less instead of vice versa, also the used market for the g14 is super popular
How much is g14 now and where ?
1199 at bestbuy@@itsvignan
@@itsvignan I got mine with a 2060 used for 559 and new it's 1200
@@10CentWenty 2060?? its like 4 years old GPU bro lol
Benchmarks were about the same, no real difference that matters. Speakers, G14 blows away Lenovo. G14 goes on sale all the time so bank for buck will go to the G14. I don't think the G14 looks like a gamer's laptop. The worst part of the G14 is the backlit keyboard. It's very hard to see. The G14 also has better options too choose, like 4070, 4080,4090, Mini led screen on the more powerful G14. I will wait till next year I bet these machines will go on sale for great price.
But in regards to the price you get way more for the money with the Slim 5
@@BenGKaiser not when the g14 is 200 less than the g14
G14 screams “gamer laptop” lol
Your promo code does not work. I’ve tried many times and many different ways. It just doesn’t work and it’s sad cause you said it’s valid through the end of the year.
I believe it is only US based. Do you live outside the U.S.?
Definitely in the US.
Not anymore. The new ones are better in every way.
G14 2023 is going for $1149 right now while Slim 5 14 is still $1500 at Best Buy. I got my G14 4060 for $900, at that price it's a no-brainer. It's a great complement to my Aorus 17X 4080. Tried a L5P once, never got why Legions gets hyped so much by youtubers/reviewers🤷♂
How did you get it for 900$?
legions 1150 rn at bestbuy got one open box for 1050
@@user-tr4ep1fw8n best buy has it on sale
Compare to g14 2022
I like the Legion this year but in my opinion the G14 is still the top dog. The chassis of the Legion is more of a 15" laptop size, hence it's getting slightly better performance. Also that soldered RAM is a huge deal breaker for me. I normally upgrade the RAM every year or so until the CPU/GPU are no longer sufficient. G14 just has the perfect balance for me for productivity, portability, battery life, gaming, upgradeability.
The g14 lineup is a marvel of devices. I should've got one sooner in my college journey
These seem like copy paste from other youtubers that already reviewed this
everyone knows G14 keyboard is better ..it should not be hard to admit
legion slim 14", the actual screen is 14,5"
haha! right?! Hopefully the next version will be a true 14
@@yjznx27 and more bezeless
Hopefully they can keep thermal performance if they ever decide to make it smaller. The g14 is too toasty from what I generally see
Do you what the “G” in ROG stands for? Funny you spend first two minutes dumping on G14 for looking like a gaming laptop. 🤡
One of them is Taiwanese the other is Commie, its an easy choice.👍🏼
