I don't know if for some reason some E9X cars have a different way of attaching the resistor etc. But in all of the cars where I've replaced it the bolts are NOT 20 Torx Size, they are 16 Torx Size.

@@mikevlack7687 ah ok thank you mate, mine was blowing very hot air from the radiator, I’ve changed the resistor and the pump in the engine bay, still the same 😅 very hot air from the defrost

My blower motor stopped working suddenly . Just a few weeks after I got the car - 136,000 km well maintained manual sedan 330i - . The recalls were done for the blower motor though.
It was making some squeaking noises but now no air is coming through the vents at all.
So is it probably the blower motor itself not the FSU ? The resistor would be bad if the fan would work but the speeds don't change , correct ?
I hav a 2013 bmw 328i and my blower motor blows hard sometimes but most of the time it doesn’t could the resistor cause that?
Took it in to BMW to get this done and now my fan won’t turn which is causing overheating, car has brand new fan ,radiator, reservoir , both sensors , fuses are good too. You think they might have messed something up ?

Thanks. 2 days ago I received a BMW safety recall letter to replace the blower motor wiring, a few weeks ago I noticed an oil like smell and now there is a slight "muffler" sound when I'm driving, do you think the 2 could be connected?
No, that would not be connected, unless the sound results from when you have the heater fan on. If it happens when its on, then the fan may need to be reseated. The oil smell is a result of BMWs oil caps leaking. It happens to all cars and I would go under the hood and find the leakage and wipe it up.
@@rangerr234 Took it in to BMW to get this blower motor recall airbag recall and they said they switched out a wire harness and now my fan won’t turn on has brand new fan ,radiator, reservoir , both sensors , fuses are good too. You think they might have messed something up ? Or should I just replace this resistor ?
@@abrahamvera6366 Is this for the HVAC system? If so I would take it back to the dealer and ask them why this isn’t working. If they messed something up they have to fix it. More than likely the mechanic knocked something lose or forgot to connect something. If you are up to the task, you can remove the bottom panel below the glovebox and see if there are any lose wires under there that may not be connected. There are plenty of videos on RUclips on how to remove the bottom panel, I would recommend following one of those as to not break anything

No you twist and unclip the whole blower with the resistor on. I have opposite problem - the bearing went in my unit and I'm replacing the blower and using the old resistor.
