- WALKING IN FLORENCE, ITALY: This six mile (9.65km) walk of central Florence was filmed on July 3rd, 2019 starting at 12:30pm at the Santa Maria Novella Train Station. During this walk you will go inside the Baptistery of St. John, inside the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, and climb up the steps of Giotto's Bell Tower. Hey Tony, I'm glad you could join me on the walk. By the end of the day I am pretty dang tired. :)..especially walking around Florence. The last part was up hill to that look out. I took a taxi back to my hotel. I couldn't walk any more. :)

Hi Lynn, well...I'm a high school teacher and coach so I just have to film when I can. I had gone to Florence in May the year before to film and it was so crowded and there was so much construction, I just turned around and went home. Anyway, this was just my next opportunity to go. I coach a Spring sport.

I’m so glad I went off season to avoid the crowds. It’s hard to enjoy things when there are tons of people in the way.
Full of historical and architectural wonders city to visit , especially the spectacular view up in the church's bell tower.
Thank you for the raw, un-cut long climb to the top of the tower! It brought back all those claustrophobic but fun moments of that staircase! Rewarding views indeed! Great memories!

It was nice to relive the very familiar sights we enjoyed during our visits in 2007 and 2008. I see the same apartment we rented both times which faced the Duomo and the Baptistery. Italy is a beautiful country and Florence is a treasure. Thank you for your beautiful footage which will give me the chance to re-visit, if only virtually. I will always treasure the wonderful memories of that lovely city.

When i took my last vacation to Italy we stopped in a hotel in Arezzo another beautiful city in Tuscany.We only got to spend one day in Florence during our vacation Which was a pity because it is such a beautiful city and i would have loved to have stopped there for at least 3 days.We were on a guided tour during our stay in Italy we spent 5 days in Tuscany and visited Sienna and Florence .Then we travelled down to Rome and spent 3 days in Rome before flying back to the UK.This year with the coronavirus outbreak and the uncertainty of travelling anywhere in the world i've opted for staying at home.But one day in the future i will certainly be returning to Florence ,also i would love to go back to Sorrento and the beautiful Amalfi coast.

IN June 2018 it was my fourth visit to Florence and stayed in Piazza Santo Spirito......so my comments below, recall my feelings when I visited.
Over 30 yrs ago, walked the streets of Florence & saw it from the overlook with my Dad. It was beautiful then, but looks to have spruced up a bit more for the tourists. Thanks for shooting this. It refreshes my memories.

Last year I visited Rome for the first time and later returned for a second visit later in the year. I found your Walking Tour videos of Rome brilliant and really helpful. Glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, it can be difficult to make all those things happen during a short visit. I was just there to walk, walk, walk. :) In and out. Most people take their time to look at each site for a while. I do too...just not on this visit. :)

Thank you for posting this lovely video through the Vie fiorentine. I am a Florentine..I lived there for the my first 50 years and so for me Firenze is beautiful(now I am living in south america). I left the town 14 years ago when it was not so full of bars, restaurants and places where to go to eat or enjoy an ice-cream. Really I don't recognize my town anymore. It is now only a place where to eat.. EAT....and that is a shame, a really shame.A lot of beautiful shops went away,closed.All for tourists and the spirit of Florence is lost forever.Very sorry.
Yeah, I am sorry to hear that, but I know what you are saying. I like Florence a lot...but, it just feels like I am walking around one giant tourist shop while I'm there. There is no Florence atmosphere..at least in the times I have been there. Maybe right now would be a good time to go...or maybe they are happy being left alone right now. I'm glad you enjoyed the video though. I hope you are doing well in South America. Please let me know if there is some other place you'd like to see here.
