I tend to replace my phone every 5 years or til it breaks. Mine is already 5 years old so it's time to upgrade. But yeah, there is no point upgrading if your phone is less than 5 years old coz the tech of smartphones have plateued.

Excellent upgrade for the sketch image feature....I did that with Co Pilot used text and boom perfect image of my dog by a fireplace. It's on my lockscreen now. Kudos to Sammy for bringing this to our phones!
Theres also no mention of bluetooth spen on the s24u sales section on samsung website, so who really knows. I can live without the Bluetooth pen, but if we dont get the 16gb ram in uk it wont be worth upgradeing from the s24u.

I've had every top end S series of Samsung phones since the S3 except for the S10 and S22 Ultra. I think my next phone will be the One Plus Open 2. I did try the Fold 4 but gave it to my daughter after a few months as the outer screen was too narrow to type on.

Also! switching from iphone you can lose data from apps/games. My friend and I loved switching from iPhone, but i lost all my progress from the games I played & bought.

My S22+ suffered the green line issue just 1 year plus and they refused to fix it despite this being a well-known manufacturing defect. Will be switching brand after being a loyal Samsung user since my Samsung S7. But I am so wondering why none of these big influencers calling out for Samsung for their lousy screens? Could we start to hold these big brands accountable for their mistakes and not let the customers bear the cost?!?!?!

Great Sal, I think you deserve to win the $5,000 prize as you work so hard to get these features to us. I am little disappointed that apart from the curve corners (==) and draw AI (which could be rolled out to S23) there isn't really a wow factor. E.g. imagine if a Samsung uplifted the battery to super long life lasting a week or included a super fast charger. Or they had dual postage screen on rear or brought back the SD card slot. Quad speakers maybe good? Also, I quite like the camera scroll feature on the iPhone. Anyway, I am still rocking the Note 20+ Ultra which has SD card slot and takes great photos.
2025 is definitely looking like it will be a great year for Android phones. My S23 Ultra is doing GREAT. Expecting to upgrade to the S27 Ultra.(I still have my 5 year old Galaxy Note 10 Plus and a 4.5 year old iPhone 11 Pro Max).

Lol, I had an S22 Ultra; I lost it. I bought a used S22 for €500 with all updates and AI features. My screen is broken, and going to the S24 or S25 is the same story. I was thinking of getting a Xiaomi or other Android phone just to feel the difference.
Wasting AI like this... No wonder it rebelled...! LOL AI should be used for far more proactive things, like system management, error fixing, app updates without the user wasting time with them, for instance...! I am still waiting for ChatGPT to actually be useful on Windows, like proactively searching driver updates, closing windows without nagging the user, and so on... That is what true AI is supposed to do, not help people draw or remove objects from pictures, which the Galaxy S4 could do without AI!
they are doing some of that, like AI battery optimization, AI screen optimization, but yeah the AI built into windows can't even help you with windows related questions lol, speaking from experience.

Will the sketch area be enlarged in the update? Currently I keep getting told my drawings take up too much of the photo I'm trying to add them to. It would be great if you could make a sketch that took up the whole picture if it needed to.
Smarphones have peaked in 2019, the S10 series was PEAK Samsung, the one plus 7 series was PEAK Oneplus and The mate 30 pro was PEAK huawei. Unfortunately the rest of the industry has stagnated after 2019 with 120hz being the only exciting change. Sure the 8 gen elite is impressive for what it isnt such a huge deal considering that its on a phone not a computer.
I just took off my S23U case to clean it before i trade it in for the S25U but then it revealed the curved screen and i changed my mind. I'm keeping the S23U. The curved screen looks too good
all this stuff sounds cool and all but I have an s21+ and I still see no reason to upgrade. I'd basically spend over a 1000 bucks for basically the same phone. planning to keep this phone until it stops getting updates ... or until I get the green line.
As someone who owns both the S24 ultra and the Honor magic V3 i would recommend the v3 if you want something that is really cool and the software has updated and magic 9OS is really good i find myself always on it watching youtube....but I have to admit Samsung is still my daily Runner to be fair. 😊
If A.I. is the only reason to buy this phone combined with a new Snap chip....then the upgrade from S24 ultra is not even a little bit worth it unless they were willing to practically let you swap your s24 ultra for it. It's not a very impressive push from Samsung. Really, the snap chip was a great advancement, but it's like Samsung decided to take a back seat to it.
Tbh, i game on my S24 Ultra and all these AI stuff isn't a solid reason to upgrade. Maybe only the SD chip, but again, if the S25 Ultra will still get hot, unlike the current phones, i might have to skip on this one😑
Looks like it's better to pick up a Galaxy S24 Ultra or even S23 Ultra at a discount instead of paying a lot of extra money just for AI that they're trying to later snag you on an AI subscription. Absolutely disappointing to watch them round off the corners on the S25 Ultra and put almost nothing into hardware improvements. Or maybe it's time to just move away from Samsung.

Will the sketch area be enlarged in the update? Currently I keep getting told my drawings take up too much of the photo I'm trying to add them to. It would be great if you could make a sketch that took up the whole picture if it needed to.
Smarphones have peaked in 2019, the S10 series was PEAK Samsung, the one plus 7 series was PEAK Oneplus and The mate 30 pro was PEAK huawei. Unfortunately the rest of the industry has stagnated after 2019 with 120hz being the only exciting change. Sure the 8 gen elite is impressive for what it isnt such a huge deal considering that its on a phone not a computer.
Why are they concentrating on gimmiks like Sketch to image and removing S pen Bluetooth. (far more usefull)

I just took off my S23U case to clean it before i trade it in for the S25U but then it revealed the curved screen and i changed my mind. I'm keeping the S23U. The curved screen looks too good

all this stuff sounds cool and all but I have an s21+ and I still see no reason to upgrade. I'd basically spend over a 1000 bucks for basically the same phone. planning to keep this phone until it stops getting updates

As someone who owns both the S24 ultra and the Honor magic V3 i would recommend the v3 if you want something that is really cool and the software has updated and magic 9OS is really good i find myself always on it watching youtube....but I have to admit Samsung is still my daily Runner to be fair. 😊

If A.I. is the only reason to buy this phone combined with a new Snap chip....then the upgrade from S24 ultra is not even a little bit worth it unless they were willing to practically let you swap your s24 ultra for it. It's not a very impressive push from Samsung. Really, the snap chip was a great advancement, but it's like Samsung decided to take a back seat to it.

Tbh, i game on my S24 Ultra and all these AI stuff isn't a solid reason to upgrade. Maybe only the SD chip, but again, if the S25 Ultra will still get hot, unlike the current phones, i might have to skip on this one😑

Looks like it's better to pick up a Galaxy S24 Ultra or even S23 Ultra at a discount instead of paying a lot of extra money just for AI that they're trying to later snag you on an AI subscription. Absolutely disappointing to watch them round off the corners on the S25 Ultra and put almost nothing into hardware improvements. Or maybe it's time to just move away from Samsung.
