Any suggestions for when the lock ring won’t come off to get the knob separated from the boot? Looks like you got it one handed and I just struggled for 45 minutes trying by hand, with trim tool and with a metal pry tool with no luck. So far I’ve just managed to mangle the plastic up 😅
Tbh not really I like the interior as is and didn’t want to add any flashy colors. I did debate all back without the aluminum trim but it just matched to well not to get black and aluminum
Is this a new design? I recall previous BFI knobs having 3 hex screws you had to screw against the factory upright and use locktite and stuff to prevent them undoing in the futre. This design looks more like a compression fit with just two bolts on either side (which I like a lot more). I'm debating now about getting one for my MK3 TTS. Can't imagine it would be any different than this S3 one.
I know for the manual knobs they still use 3 hex if I’m not mistaken. Not sure if this is a new design or not but I will say it’s extremely sturdy and tight so there’s that haha. I like it a lot and ties in the interior nicely
Awesome upgrade. Matches entirely with your interior
I love it so far! Nice subtle upgrade
Simple but very effective mod. Looks really nice
Thank you! I love it so far
The aluminums match perfectly. Sometimes the small mods make the biggest difference in so many situations
Thanks man! I agree small mod but looks so good IMO
BFI is only like, 25 minutes from my house. Great company, great products.
Awesome products! And must be nice lol so many good things they sell and to be right there
I want one for my TDI Wagon. You should get one for your wagon and do another video on that install. ✌️
Would be a great upgrade! Actually have been wanting a short shifter and weighted knob for the wagon so would be a good upgrade for it!
Man your videos are great!
Thank you man!

So the locking ring should twist a little bit counter clockwise if I’m not mistaken and then it’ll pull off pretty easily
@@DArias I ended up prying it off with a flat head. Not sure why exactly but mine was incredibly difficult to get off.
What shift paddles do you have?
Did you consider maybe a color theme instead of just going black and aluminum?
