I used to go to Bellshill Salvation Army and remember this tune. I used to play in the timbrels and this was one of my favourite to play to. Happy memories
I am a graduate of the Salvation Army School of Nursing in Windsor, Ontario, class of '65, and this was the march that we marched in to on our night of graduation. I never hear it but that evokes such an emotional response as I remember that exciting night. Thank you for your rendition of this wonderful march. Beth Brain, R.N.
You'll be pleased to hear that the Regent Hall Band carries out two open air meetings each Sunday - marching on Oxford Street and Regent Street in the heart of London.
Well done Regent Hall, guaranteed to keep the dear "OLD " Army forever in our minds.Thank you.My old YP Sergeant Major who was a great example & friend had his coffin carried out of Chelmsford Citadel to this march, it will allways bring back fond memories of YPSM Ron Buckle(Chelmsford Citadel) for me.Thank You.
+Todd Fjellman ...I too miss playing the horn , I was a trumpet/cornet player and things happened in life that stopped me from playing and m,iss it BIG TIME. It was the most enjoyable time of my life, I was in many orginisations MISS THEM TERIBLY.
This is one of the finest marches I know, even if it nearly cost me my job as a bus driver in Perth, when I saw the band playing this, and I failed to see passengers waiting for me.
1934polly love it. I agree . when I hear this I envision an army of angels backing an army of Christians after the hearts of the lost, the weary, and the broken.
Do you know Gilbert St. Onge? He is a high ranking retired Commissioner. He and his wife are friends of my and I. They married us 1981 in Burlington Ontario.
I really enjoyed listening to this and am looking forward to playing this march (tuba part) myself - sounds great fun! Thanks to everyone at Regent Hall Salvation Army Band - I also have your "Songs of Praise" CD and "Here I am to worship" sung by Stuart Pendred has a particularly special meaning for me (when I was going through a difficult time). Where could I get hold of the sheet music for this - preferably in digital format?! God bless you all & thanks for the video :-)
FOR GOD'S CHOSEN: EFFE612-30-2020.9:07 AM. COLOSSIANS 3:12 - 17. Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another and forgiving one another, if one has a grievance against another; as the LORD has forgiven you, so must you also do. And over all these put on love, that is, the bond of perfection. And let the peace of CHRIST control your hearts, the peace into which you were also called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of CHRIST dwell in you RICHLY, as in all WISDOM you teach and admonish one another, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And in whatever you do, in word or in DEED, do everything In the name of the LORD JESUS, giving thanks to God the FATHER through him. (Original Completion: 9:15 AM ET). 🦋🌠🦅
Do you think you could get your wife to get their e-mail address? We seen them earlier this year at a friends funeral, but didn't talk much, they were very busy with their friends funeral...

Joel Etcheverry, how can you be a Salvationist and not know that bands play marches indoors, at services, concerts and festivals, alongside open air services and marches?

Beautiful march! We play it in Zambia!!!
I have fond memories of marching back to our hall in Boston Lincolnshire to this tune.
It never ceases to amaze me at the quality of musicianship of the bandsmen in the larger S.A. bands.
