Why don't they get HDR10,HDR10+ and Dolby Vision right before doing this? I've lost count how many times I've read that 4K Blu Rays will soon have HDR10+ Stickers on them,but when? I purchased and watched Mission Impossible Fallout in Dolby Vision AND some scenes in IMAX. Looks amazing on a Oled!
Guys let me help you out don't be tricked, IMAX enhanced is nothing more than a priest and a bunch of Standards like THX it is nothing like Dolby Vision which is a proprietary video and audio format that requires a special set of equipment to decode. IMAX enhanced works with your existing equipment it is only a preset for people who don't want to tweak their systems for instance it is similar to setting your TV to it's preset of Cinema mode, movie mode, video game mode, standard mode, Etc. It is not like Dolby Vision Dolby Vision requires decoders and equipment that have those special decoders to unlock the format which is protected and ads audio and video improvements. If you want IMAX enhanced you have it all already you have DTS X you have hdr10 so you don't really need IMAX enhanced. No more than you need THX select or THX Ultra certification.

If your TV doesn't have HDR 10+ it will default to HDR 10. BTW dolby vision is dynamic meta data that has higher performance specs then HDR 10+, but requires licensing fees from manufactures.
What they need to do is start releasing the full IMAX video for home releases on blu ray, brand it as IMAX blu ray, I would happily buy many movies I already own again in order to get that experience at home, this may be a step in that direction but I didn't hear him say anything about expanded aspect ratio. Most TVs can show almost all of the image anyway. There are ways to get some of them but Marvel only does it for their 3d blu rays(which is annoying), DC used to do it with the Dark Knight, Dark knight rises etc, but have stopped with their recent films, I know there is a FULL IMAX cut of Ultimate BvS out there, seen screenshot of parts that weren't expanded in the theater. I would love all blu-rays to give the option of normal widescreen or expanded for IMAX portions, but I would accept having to buy an IMAX specific version.

This is basically the result of Chris Nolan, PTA, Tom Cruise, Cuarón and MCquirie railing TV manufactures to turn off (and just straight up remove) Motion Smoothing and fix people's picture settings to industry standard (Movie Mode, Warm2, proper contrast and color settings, etc). Which is a good thing I'd say. The only thing I'm worried about is every TV is different, even the same models vary in picture presentation, so the "proper" settings will look different per panel/model. How are they gonna make sure it all looks "as it should" ?
