- Dark and Darker just gave us another major meta shift patch. This time they adjusted smite (again), gave divine magic a slowing effect, put poison on ranged weapons, TOOK AWAY ranged weapon support on certain abilities, took away name plates for teammates AND SO MUCH MORE.
This one's wild.

And yet, it's still a brainless change that doesn't need to be done. It's going to cause countless TK's across the board from people who are terrible at paying attention to what their partner looks like in a game like this with changing gear styles

Yep. Though while everyone is thinking about how they are going to try to figure out who is on their own party to not kill them. I am over here thinking about how to make my enemy think I am on their team during a fight so they buff/heal me and attack their own party members xD.

Kris Warlock Smite, Shadow Touch, Poison Weapon, Divine Strike, Blood Stained Blade player here xD. Dont have ignite though. Never got a wizard up to level 30 yet.
I'm curious as to how this will affect cleric. Non-multi-classed Cleric felt really bad, but multi-class Cleric feels absolutely insane in my opinion.

I think to balance multiclasses out one thing they could do is halve the effectiveness of any skill/passive that comes from another class. Or have your base classes primary stats suffer some penalty for each alternate class ability/passive you're running.
I don’t understand the smite change, does it now scale with add/true magical dmg, or does it scale with magical power bonus now?
Does this mean poison weapon can now be applied by punching people? Because that's a massive buff for demon warlocks.

In my opinion, rolling characters stats and class would allow them to be able to create multiclass requirements. This would allow them to balance out what classes players would have access to manipulating. Ensuring a players couldn't just snipe the most overpowered combinations, and more player/class identity.
Locus swarm is also divine magic, a huge AOE with a slow on it now can be huge. Might be even better than earthquake depending on the slow %

I have a feeling they will future release multi classing and pairing two classes together and only being able to share between the two classes in order to ensure less unpredictability and have better control of balancing.

I would lime to see them address the issue with the current GBMM. Also i dont know how i feel about the nameplate removal in HR? It doesnt really add anything other than confusion and alot of TK

Do you honestly think with all the multi class shenanigans that ranger is op? You think poison weapon is going to tip the balance? They just nerfed one of the better multi class for ranger 😅
Without magic damage scaling poison weapon is bad. That is why it works on warlocks so well. Rogues had to stack true magic and magic power if they even wanted to use poison weapon and you need like 40% just to go from 1 damage per tick per stack to 2 damage per tick per stack. Best you are going to get on a ranger with poison weapon is doing tiny dot damage as you kite someone. Now sure you can use double jump and get up where they cant hit you and you can shoot them with your poison weapons but you can just take them out with arrows faster then the tick damage. Maybe it is one less arrow but even that is a stretch.
Not telling you to not do it but just saying it likely wont have the effect you are hoping for.
The reason it works so well on a Kris dagger warlock is the weapon is fast and it is easy to get to that 40% on a warlock. Like 4 Kris attacks can go off in the time it takes to fire 1 or 2 arrows depending on the bow, your action speed, and what perks/skills you have. Though that is also melee vs range. Though with 40% on my warlock a quick jump in and full rotation of Kris attacks, poison weapon ticks for 10 damage per second.
Yeah, but every 2 points of true/add mag dam adds one point of damage to the tick
@@EnrickRogue are you accounting for the opponents will? It will lower the duration. It's not that great on ranger. Works with Kris on warlock pretty well
@@alarex8204 @nithia The opponents Will is going to affect the duration of the debuff no matter what class/build you are as well as give them some magic resist. But I've been using a Survival Bow with Rupture and Quick Shot along with Poison Weapon. Quick Shot (quad shot with Surv) pretty much insta-stacks the poison. Magic Damage Bonus or Magic Power are applied to Poison Weapon across its duration, not per tick so yes, it would take a lot of it if that's how you're going about it. Also, as I mentioned earlier, the tick damage increases by 1 point for every 2 Additional Magic Damage or True Magic Damage so with say, 11 Add Mag Dam or True Mag Dam it would also tick for around 10
Love the vid, I just wish Ironmace would focus more on content then balancing. Its healthy to hear and fix the concerns that the community is shouting but wheres the content? This patch is a W and I like the newer maps but where are all the Classes that are planned? I havent played in a long while but is mining still the only profession you can do in the dungeon? Why cant I skin or pick herbs? Didnt they say from the get-go that they wanted to move from a title screen based out of raid system into an in-game gathering hub where you go and talk to the traders, craft at crafting stations, and have a social gathering AH with other players? Were guilds planned?

Poison weapon wasnt working on bows or spear. So you're wasting your time unless the are fixing it with this patch

i have 1000 hours in DaD and i gotta say multiclassing has completely killed my desire to play the game. i had no idea at the time but as far as i’m concerned, the ruins era where gold gear had just come out was the best. feeling that rush of killing a bis gold team and splitting the loot for who it best fits class wise was so fun. i feel like multiclassing is cool but has completely killed the competitive 3v3 part of the game, we got clerics healing and then throwin fireballs out here. i think multiclassing for people who just play solos is cool and adds some more depth to the 1v1s but for 3s all strategy and playstyles just go out the window and you just fight and see who wins or who has the more broken build. if people really like multiclassing and just disagree with me that’s fine too i honestly have no idea what the consensus on the game right now is because i haven’t been playing it. but i bet there are some people who agree with me when i say i miss the dark and darker from like 4 months ago soooooo much. i wish they had just focused more on adding new maps and druid rather than adding and trying to balance multiclassing

W opinion! The meta changes far too often and anyone who has a job or responsibilities can't possibly be expected to keep up. I didnt even play last season because the gear balancing was obismal. They are adding too many layers too fast, to the point that its difficult to figure out what is and isn't working for them.
Huge L patch and here is why:
No names is a nerf to casual players, people who play regularly on discord with friends like me will have little issue with this feature, but any casual or anyone who liked to use the gathering hall to get a third will be punished by this decision, its also a punishment to those who play without a microphone, huge L. This is just another random idea like the x2.0 headshot modifier, whoever is in that office having these crazy ideas has to stop.
Please remove multiclassing, its a broken feature with little to no balancing, no work was put behind it, no compatibility work for skills/perks of different classes, its a lazy, broken system, its not a serious feature. This has just been rushed out and released to prevent criticism from lack of content for this season since they are behind schedule on the Ice Abyss and the Druid, and it has essentially broken the game. I have found in EU HR chinese hackers with names like Douyin23214 and these kind of names (probably using ESP) camping me and my team killing the boss with rogues with double windlass and ambush, they were not succesfull but they were close, and thats another issue, if you manage to kill those you think were hacking you cant even report them.
You shouldn't be playing such a team based game if youre unwilling to communicate. L opinion in that regard.
Youre right that they should get rid of multiclassing though. They're trying to do too much counterbalanced. Someone else said they should make it so that effects are 50% less effective if they don't come from your class too and I agree. Do one or the other.

Other than that they gave Slow debuffs to Divine magic and gave back 50% scaling on Smite
@Dominossek thanks for the reply. Nice to smite scaling is at least back. As for smite not working on torches, cleric doesn't have many ranged options to start out with. That being said, with multiclassing, it opens Pandora's box for everything and everyone. For me, it destroys the game, and I can't wait for it to hopefully go away. I don't want to have to grind my life away 2 other classes to roll the dice on perks/spells I may or may not want. Yes, I know they made it easier to lvl and what not. Sorry, I'm just not interested.
Granted, I did see a cleric with frostbolt that did look pretty cool.
