Awesome find! Fascinating how the Kanohi are so different and the prototype still uses the 2007 connector pieces as the hands rather than it being all of the new redesigned sockets.
Interesting to see is that the prototype model has the red pins that are holding the doors of the technic functions together. This was changed to frictionless pins for the final model. This seems to be a last minute change because the red pins are also used on the box art which confirms that this was not just a mistake on the 3D model of the box image but actually the planned design for the final product.
i was actually completely unaware about the whole 3D printing thing! that’s awesome! i didn’t even hear about 3D printers till 2011 in 8th grade when my teacher brought something in that her husband printed for her and we were all blown away!
Yo technic has its wins and losses but wow-the fact that the vehicle can be held like that and remains structurally sound is amazing! Im building a brick built mech out of regular system parts and if i look at his hip a certain way the plating falls off lol. All jokes aside, some of the fulfilment of moc making comes from overcoming these design problems. Coming up with solutions and solving design problems are what make other designers pieces so amazing! Bit of a tangent, but a tangent i thought was worthy of sharing. ....hail hydra....lol just playing......
I love the idea of you opening a Lego museum one day and us getting to see this prototype long before it's on display ;) Best of luck with that in the future!
What a nice find!
It's also surprising how the prototype Lewa uses the classic style of sockets instead of the infamously brittle 2008 redesign.
Probably so the it didn’t break at the toy fair lol
It's cool to see more prototypes even more in hd and modern time

I wish they just went with old socket designs, the 2008 narrow sockets are among the reasons why Bionicle died.

Shoutout to @Skybird! I suggested he should contact you to sell it!

Imagine being able to get some of the artist sketches for the set too. It'd be cool to have a full step by step of the design process on display.
Im so glad Skybird decided to sell it to you, so its in good hands (and the hands of someone who can do a proper job documenting it)
Was wondering who Skybird sold it to, very happy to see it was to DuckBricks' good hands
Congratulations on winning Lego masters!!!! We just watched the finals
Very informative vlog Chris. Thank you for sharing your rare set.

There is a real museum made by Lego but it’s not open to the public
You must be very confident in the ceiling hangers you use.
Gotta love the villain 😉
Oh ya, I remember seeing pictures of this recently with comments that you were buying it
Was the 8941 Rockoh T3 Battle Vehicles prior to the T9 8943 and thus the T3 was the first to use the side pannels, as it also has them in dark green?
Don’t know why but it totally looks like one huge gun
“A fine addition to my collection!”
would be cool if you could post high res pics of prototype, so people could build it if they want
That's sick
Great video! Love seeing items like this
IM YOUR BIGGEST FAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU'RE SO FUNNY AND COOL! AND YOUR SOOOO GOOD AT LEGO!!
I prefer then prototype mask.
Bro has all the Lego sets in the multiverse💀
How do i commission a mask? I made an account with discord.
😮
So.. how do you know it's legit? Don't want to rain on your parade, and it looks plenty authentic to me, but I do wonder about that.
