I tried creatine, took it for a month, didn´t get any effects from it. But i´m also a heavy coffee drinker, 4-5 cups per day. It never occurred to me that it could actually be why. Creatine binds water, while coffee is a diuretic. Makes sense that they would cancel each other out. Maybe i´ll try creatine again, but reduce the coffee this time.
Because of this pathway versus that pathway and therefore that, is not how biology actually works. Just because a pathway was found and more chemicals in the pathway are eaten, does not prove this boosts the pathway. The chemicals have to get through the gut into the bloodstream, then to the cells, and to the right pathway chemicals. That is a lot of what if's. I don't get bloated from creatine, it does not make me gain weight, and so caffeine as a diuretic does not likely inhibit creatine doing anything. Water in cells is not water in the blood is a problem for starters. It is where the water is that matters. It is not just dumbo water here, water there, blah, they cancel because some shallow thinker says so.
I noticed protein supplement powder in my coffee with soy milk makes me less hungry and drink just those two instead of coffee all day. Morning drink with 5g creatine, and several other amino acid supplements claimed to do something useful. Worth a try.
Taking it as a preworkout is not mandatory simply because it’s not a stimulant nor is it a nitric oxide booster. It’s just smart to take the daily doses on time regularly. Great video. Randomly looked up the trending content for creatine info. 💪🏽

Been eating this way for a couple of years so have stable and very familiar bowel habits. I added 5 g of creatine each day while starting a modest weight-lifting routine about 3-4 weeks ago. There is definitely a constipating effect. I feel great otherwise. I may add some fiber to my very healthy diet to counteract the creatine's effect. I plan to continue with creatine and ramp up my work out a bit more to take full advantage of it providing that bit of added energy to my body. Thanks for your video regarding the 3g vs 5g issue.

I started taking creatine at the beginning of this week, is it okay that I take it in the morning and have a workout in the evening? Or does that lessen the effect the creatine has on me?
since preworkouts are loaded in caffeine, it's reccomended to take creatine post work out and take preworkout before going to hit the weights. Creatine and caffeine is not a good combination to be taken at the same time, some of the side effects of it is that you'll have an upset stomach
yes but depends on some people. i am able to do it as i didnt feel anything bad happen the first day i did it nor the following days. if you do get an upset stomach split it to 2 x 10g if that still upsets the stomach 4 x 5g a day.
Is it okay to be taking creatine as a 15-year-old (turning 16 in a couple weeks)? Also curious about how much I should be taking. (Which creatine ya'll using right now)
I'd personally say you better wait for it. Get used to working out a bit and building the foundation of your strength. Later on you can always take creatine, but right now try to rock it as you are
Nice video, thanks! Creatine has also some nice side effects (prevention of cancer; it's good for brain health). One thing that might be additionally important is to remember that with creatine you need to intake even more fluids! Potentially, since drinking coffee is diuretic and consuming creatine requires increased water intake, could this be why coffee reduces the effects of creatine? For every cup of coffee, you should drink an extra glass of water.
what about just taking 10g for like 10 days as a loading phase and then going for 3g? not as harsh/wasteful? as 20g/day and not as slow as 3g a day, or am i missing something? I think i will start to give creatine a try in a few weeks
Is it possible to need more than 5 grams per day? I noticed that when I was loading I had more energy and was able to lift more. Once I loaded and hit maintenance at 5 grams per day I noticed a decline in my muscle energy and amount of weight I could lift. I'm wondering if it's unusual to need more than 5 grams per day.

Science here seems contradictory. You said 2g per day for 6 months showed no benefit in female swimmers, but later said 0.03g/kg of bw is a sufficient dose to get benefits. Now I’m assuming here but those female swimmers couldn’t have been more than 60kg, which is equivalent to 1.8g of creatine per day. Shouldn’t have they seen benefits?
Female swimmers are mostly pretty tall. Not as tall as William Lia Thomas, but toller than the average women. And very mascular. Sind muscles are pretty heavy and need way more nutrients than other tissue. I am not good at guessing heights and weights but a 6" female stimmen surely is more than 60 Kilo.

I took 3g a day for probably around 4-5 weeks. It was at the point of muscle saturation where my face got poofy. Fr tho it improves your workouts greatly
I have been taking creatine for almost 3 years and it is a blessing to my everyday life and workouts. I am never tired. When I am off it for awhile I feel more weaker and tired after doing some activities.
The math is solid, he used grams x lbs which can be confusing. This should be 0.03g x 77 kg (170lbs) = 2.31g. You need to remember to divide the result if you're using lbs by 2.205 for the correct amount of grams.
Does it matter if the creatine is fully dissolved during consumption? My creatine MH does not readily dissolve and I find myself drinking it in mostly solid/powder form
Bro! I only have one to thank for this video! I tried this very method, and it helped me realize how fast I hydrate… I’ve had bad days which led to more optimal hydrating methods! I’ve had side effects such as inflammation in the salivary glands which I investigated it to a normal symptom as dehydration… total conclusion: this method works!! …but stay way up on your water if you plan to take up to maximum amount (loading phase). 😅😁
My Cre says on the tub take two scoops (5g each) twice a day one post workout an one with my highest carb meal is this right because I’ve brought some in the past it says take it 4 times a day.
Studies have shown that creatine is optimal when taken 5 grams per day. It’s most likely the brand wanting to use more than you have to. It’s not harmful if you do have more than 5 a day but you can save money and get the same results by taking the 5 gram standard
Also in the earlier parts of the video it mentions that you don’t may not need even 5 grams. You may want to do some research on your own but I hope this helps at least a little

Creatine binds water, while coffee is a diuretic. Makes sense that they would cancel each other out. Maybe i´ll try creatine again, but reduce the coffee this time.
All just speculative babbling about caffeine. You are going to piss or poop most of your creatine out anyway.
1/4 are non responders to creatine
You weren't working enough

At 75 years of age, I've had surgery (twice) plus a bunch of radiation on my tongue for cancer and have challenges swallowing as a result. So, I have to eat soft foods and smoothies.

Science here seems contradictory. You said 2g per day for 6 months showed no benefit in female swimmers, but later said 0.03g/kg of bw is a sufficient dose to get benefits. Female swimmers are mostly pretty tall. Not as tall as William Lia Thomas, but toller than the average women.

the 0.3g * 170lb = 5.1g but you show it 2.3g which is wrong. calculation done at 3:53 mint. so, everyone take care of this.
0.3g /Kg and not LB so divide/2...
The math is solid, he used grams x lbs which can be confusing. This should be 0.03g x 77 kg (170lbs) = 2.31g. You need to remember to divide the result if you're using lbs by 2.205 for the correct amount of grams.

Studies have shown that creatine is optimal when taken 5 grams per day. It’s most likely the brand wanting to use more than you have to. It’s not harmful if you do have more than 5 a day but you can save money and get the same results by taking the 5 gram standard
