Was it easy??
@@ryanshen4770 I would say just make sure you read everything carefully and have enough background information when answering both the multiple choice and the writing portions
Good luck to everyone taking apwh this may!!! we're all going to do our best and we GOT this 🏆
I 100% do not got this
Yay we made it!! Remember joining the Heimler fam in unit 1 which feels like so long ago...

my notes for anyone that needs them (used the video ONLY)
Notes go here:
Examples and evidence of new modes of communication and transportation
Communication:
- Communication technologies reduced the metaphorical space between each other, even if the literal space was still there
- Radio (early 20th century)
○ Eliminated the barrier between speaker and listener
§ As opposed to filtered between news outlets and biases
○ FDR used it during WW2 and Great Depression, to comfort Americans
- Television (middle 20th century)
- Benefits of radio but with pictures
- Cellular technology (later 20th century)
- Put the ability to communicate with each other in our pockets
- Instant communication all over the world
- Social Media
- Essentially democratized communication
§ Gave anyone a platform to say whatever they wanted to and then gain an audience
- Key Historical Event: Arab Spring
§ Series of anti-gov't protests across the Arab world
§ Organized through cellphones and through social media
§ Social media also showed the rest of the world what was happening
Transportation
- Air travel
- Instead of weeks, journeys took hours
- Allowed goods to be transported faster and easier
- Shipping containers
- Also allowed for easier movement of bulk goods
Examples and evidence of energy technologies
- Petroleum and natural gas
- Increased productivity
- Bad for planet
- Nuclear energy
- More renewable and cleaner than petroleum (to an extent)
- Chernobyl: not so clean, sent out a lot of nuclear energy
Examples and evidence of birth control
- Developed in 1950s, synthetic hormone that prevented pregnancy
- Caused fertility rates to decline
Examples and evidence of the Green Revolution
- Green revolution
- Scientists developed new kinds of grain and wheat that yielded more abundant harvests and were resistant to pests
§ Did it through genetic engineering
- Increased use of fertilizers and pesticides and irrigation
§ Increased crops, but harmed environment
§ More acreage devoted to farming
- Caused rise of commercial farming; small, local farmers unable to compete
Examples and evidence of medical innovations
- Antibiotics
- Killed bacterial infections
- Penicillin invented in 1926, first antibiotic, helped save soldiers' lives
- Vaccines
- Shots that people got that inoculated them against diseases like smallpox and polio
Dang

we got to stop meeting like this

Kudos for completing the units! Thank You! Keep up the great work! I plan on watching the rest.
Ha, well I'm glad to have you around. There aren't many, but I'm glad you're here.
Also I love your videos! They helped me with my SAQ for class and I finished it with 4 minutes to spare! Thanks for being so in depth but not boring! Keep up the great work!
That's awesome! Well done. Glad I could help...
honestly this man is a amazing person and I wish the best to him
Thank you Mr Heimler for all that you have given to us (you didn’t have to but out of the goodness and kindness of your heart you did) and overall thanks for everything (I’m ready to see next week what examples you can provide us for the dbq)
Hey man, thanks for the kind words. I'm happy to do it. I'm looking forward to next week too....
No problem( you and Fiveable are the only thing keeping my grade up as my teacher is bad)
thank you so much for your videos man! so helpful and perfectly summative.
cramming the night before my ap test 😭
same queen im so gonna fail

My personal favorite medical technological advancement during this time was recombinant DNA technology, where human DNA is grown in bacteria in a lab to create medicine like insulin. As an insulin-dependent type 1 diabetic, I use this technology every day.
Bro wrote an SAQ in the comment section 💀
Yesssss Heimler get it with the facts
Guys watch all his review videos I mean i studied but he really helped and I got a 5!!!
As long as I get a 3 I will be happy
Yeah, I am going to watch a marathon of his videos this weekend, I hope I get a 3. Wish me look
Good luck to y'all!
@@sukhmanatkaur23 thank you
I love your videos, but I wish I did not have to complete a worksheet on them D:
Thank you very much! Your videos are very helpful!
You are most welcome!
heimler you saved me tysm!! i knew nothing and i literally watched all your videos the day before the test and got a 4 THANK YOU
your videos have been much help for me, my ap world teacher has yet to teach us how to write a dbq or prepared us for any of the stuff on the rubric. i’ve been teaching myself with the help of your videos and am hoping to get a 5.
i was wondering if i could go to a previous years dbq and write the essay as if i’m taking the test and have you read over it to “score” it and give me some feedback? I don’t have anyone else to help critique my writing and it would mean so much as I’m worried about the ap test and haven’t written an actual dbq before. thank you so much.
its a week before the exam, i havent learned a thing... lets hope binging these videos will help! :'D
how did it go?
@@yousefmadieh1242 They helped a lot, I just did not do my part. Got a 2.. I have AP Euro this year, I am hoping to at least past with a 3. History is just not my forte.

Thanks for making these videos! Do you plan to make unit review videos for units 5-9?
They cost money
my first ap class taught me one thing: never cram at the last minute
I know that this should be a given but people like me only learn the hard way T_T
I want to go back in time
how was it!!

Thank you for making these videos homie. Ngl I'd be screwed without your vids😅
Time to cram two days before the AP Exam!! Good luck everyone we got this ☻
I might not be taking the AP version of wh, but this still really helpful
Evaluate the extent to which Mr. Heimler saves AP students lives.
Sir you have literally saved me
I remain, your humble servant.
Good luck to all the digital exam takers tomorrow!
Hi!! Can someone pls let me know what chapters are in each unit? I’m rly confused
Your review is wonderful!!! Thank you so much🥰🥰🥰
You're most welcome!
Hi, you know how they create review videos from collegboard on youtube? Are those all the topics I need to know, or do I need to study other units/
You don't need those for the exam. The only reason you'd need them is if your teacher is requiring them.
Hello, are you gonna post chapter summaries for periods 5 and 6? They’d be perfect for studying for the DBQ this year.
Those units are only available in my Ultimate Review Packet... But if you're not into getting that, there are playlists for units 5 and 6...
Heimler's History Aright, thanks!
the exam is tmr :(
Today I take the exam in an hour and I am really cramming and hoping I get at least a 3😬✨
Time to cook on this test
"bruh...we won" is literally what one of my friends told me a couple days ago when we played capture the flag
My teacher told us to find effects, causes, continuity, and changes online for studying for an LEQ. But I had a hard time finding thoses effects, causes, changes, and continuites on the internet. Do you have a tip that I can use to find those effects, causes, changes, and continuities on the internet much faster?
Hmm. I don't know of a general way to help you. I suppose it depends on exactly WHAT you're looking to find changes (etc) for...
@@heimlershistory The AP Exam this year won't cover topics beyond 1900, right?
@@maxsong2688 yes, I believe the units covered are from 1 through 6
Not in AP world, but can someone tell me what the time periods for the APUSH exam will be? What year to what year? Thanks
It’ll only cover 1754-1945
3 minutes left calling it there good luck guys
Do you think that human innovation will continue to grow exponentially or begin to slow/decline in the coming years?
How can I get historical thinking and contextualization? I'm studying hard but still can't really connect the dots.
he has a video that helps with contextualization (i think just research heimler how to do an leq)
and then historical thinking try to look at different prompts and see if you can answer them/look at the ced and if you can answer them
Im a miramar student btw! I have a question isnt the AP Exam from Unit 1-6? So im confused as to why this video was made
Nvm i had my question answered by a previous comment!
Test tomorrow 🚮 (Definitely not cramming)
test is in 3 hours and here i am☠
I’m Literally standing outside testing site about to take exam....

How hard was it!?
@@briannamozo5869 I studied so I felt more confident. I would say it’s easier to take if you study. I think you can find the frqs we had online now.
Bro I’m gonna cry I forgot to study from the 9th unit cuz I thought I would remeber
Am I the only one here that's watching his videos 2 hours before the exam lmao
Guys my test is in 2 days on my birthday and I’m cramming so hard 😭😭😭
hey i like your videos but they're a bit too fast for me, great for a quick review, but are there any videos that get more in depth?
At this point, I don’t have anything. Sorry about that…
from my knowledge Heimler's topic videos are already the more in-depth ones, try looking at Stephanie Gorges for more in-depth review videos, tho they take a little longer
Is anyone still watching out of curiosity?
Not many :)
you could use it for contexualization, but it's usually not even gonna work as said in the "How to Write a DBQ" vid
couple hours till the exam 😭
Yup :(
Goodluck to all of us :(
@@kristineli3789 6 minutes left good luck guys lmao
Is it true that the tests are going to be open note? It seems to good to be true.
it is.

RUclips:
no u so true
Why did you make this video at this time? The AP exam doesn't have this unit.
Arvind Manohar a lot of teachers are still requesting people to do work on these units so he’s helping out just in case
True, but like Josh said, some teachers are still depending on Unit 9 videos so I'm doing my best to help them out. Plus, I'm already in the groove making these videos. I'd hate to put it off till next year...
@@heimlershistory I appreciate it! My teacher is still testing on these chapters and it's a lot easier to comprehend listening to your reviews.
wheres 9.7-9.9?
PSA to test-takers: Chernobyl is not in Russia. It's in the Ukraine. The USSR =/= Russia.
Notes for myself!
Global interconnectedness
Communication technology- Radio- provided non-bias news from speaker and listener, biases from reporters; long distance
Television: all benefits of radio but seeing
Cellular Tech helped people communicate with anyone all over the globe
Rise of Social Media: anyone has a platform to say what they wanted to and have an audience- Arab Spring promoted on Social Media
Commercial Airlines- everyone gets closer and can physically see the goods they wanna buy from all over the world
Shipping containers transport goods on ships
Factories need energy-> petroleum and gas; nuclear energy-> power
petroleum is very harmful for the environment; nuclear energy is safer but very risky b/c they could explode and release copious amounts of radiation
Green Revolution- crops resistant to pests thanks to cross-breeding
Increased use of fertilizers, irrigation, ect
-> small famers couldnt buy the new equipment
antibiotics!!! penicillin saved lives in wars
vaccines used for smallpox, measles, and polio
Birth control-fertility rats decline
My exam is today 😬😬😬
Same. Good luck!
the test is in 10 hours......
don't mind me just binging,,.....
