    One other hint when using the scotch brit which works great make sure your edges don’t have any nicks. If there are your hands are close to the edges and hitting it can cut you. Learned the hard way in that one

    I know he showed us how, but I think I might just call him to take care of it for me since he's the Dr! I also want to see his cool Van! That thing rocks! And Jonathan, your edits are so smooth, you even make board waxing look amazing! That's why you have 10 K subscribers and are heading for 50 K! Nice job dude!

    The first step, is actually to make sure there aren't any nicks or burrs on your edges. The reason why, especially for park riders most of all, is 'cause if there are, they can scratch the bottom of the iron to the point where your iron then leaves scratches everywhere it travels up & down your board's base. I learned this the hard way, by literally leaving scratches up and down a brand-spanking-new board, and another one I have too. Then I had to take sandpaper made specifically for metal, to remove the burrs that were created in the base of the iron from going over those nicks & burrs on the edges, to flatten it out and make it perfectly smooth again, to prevent that from happening anymore, not to mention of course getting rid of those nicks & burrs on the edges before I continued any more. And if you don't catch that, you can wind up doing it to every single board or ski you wax after that, which in his case, is super important to prevent, so I'm sure he actually checks the edges for nicks & burrs before he ever waxes, or at least I'd hope so! 👍

    Or end it with scrape is kind of ok, and let the nature take care of final buffing with a run down the slope ? 🤔

    Tuning yes. Waxing????… time to evolve. Phantom DPS II. Never wax your board again. One treatment cured under blue light for about $99 at various stores like REI. And because it penetrates the entire base layer of your board minor scratches are not an issue. You can still apply a speed wax over Phantom DPS if you’re that obsessive but I haven’t waxed for 2 seasons and I glide as a fast as anyone.

      If you use your personal iron on your board you won’t wanna use it on your clothes you don’t want to rub wax into your clothes. Also my snowboard was made with the logo on the bottom. I will be coming out with my own snowboards soon.

    Do you know any way to pollish out very small scratches in the topsheet? My new board has a bunch of small scratches that aren't very deep from the metal buckle on my binding strap when it bounces against my board on the way up the chairlift. Again, the scratches aren't deep at all, there is just a bunch of them in one small area. Thanks

    3:29 Nah, it's intuitive to think the wax would clog up the holes in a household iron, but that's only if the wax stays solid. The iron is hot, meaning the wax melts into a liquid state causing it to never get stuck in the holes.

    • @casperd2100
      @casperd2100 3 года назад

      @@coleparz6964 a regular iron works, you just need something that is consistently warmish hot so it can melt the wax. Just make sure you don't use the iron on clothes.
