I live in a motorhome full time and travel around Europe in it. I spend most of my time in Poland, Germany and Italy. Vanlife is my life.
In my RUclips channel, I present reviews of recreational vehicles. Here you will find campervans and motorhomes from the cheapest camper vans to the most expensive luxury liners, from various companies including Hobby, Hymer, Carthago, Westfalia, Wingamm, La Strada, Frankia, Wavecamper, Maurer, Dreamer, Itineo, Rapido, Clever Vans, Pössl, Bürstner, Niesmann Bischoff, Action Mobil, Reisemobil Manufaktur, Robeta, Trigano, Challenger, EuraMobil, Karmann Mobil, Laika, Forster, Mobilvetta Design, Affinity, Globe Traveller, Benimar, Roller Team, Adria, Bocklet, Woelcke,Tourne, Megamobil, VW, Mercedes, CS, Renault, Ford, Fiat, Carado, Sunlight, Baileys, Chausson, Balcamp, Knaus, Weinsberg, Murvi, Bliss, Mitsubishi, Woelcke, Reisemobile Bürow, Holzmobil, Giotti Line, Florium, Fleurette, Ahorn, Westfalia, Space Camper, Orange Work, Concorde, Womondo, Protec, Auto Sleeper, Dethleffs, Ilusion, Gehocab, Malibu, Pilote, Wild Ax, Vantage, Bresler, Tom's Fahrzeugtechnik, Morelo, Swift, Carado and others.
I do this by regularly attending trade events such as CMT Stuttgart, Abenteuer und Allrad, Caravan Salon Dusseldorf, Warsaw Caravan and Camping Show and sometimes others.
I cover equipment, including 12v electrical equipment and talk a lot about lithium batteries.
I also show some of the places I have visited in Europe in my own motorhome, as well as the places you can stay at! I try to give as much coverage as I can to official campsites and free places which I use for overnighting. Therefore you can find here the aire or stellplatz that you are possibly looking for.

Excellent overview. The Weinsberg interiors (and bathrooms) are really pleasant and bright. We used one last summer and the table was a nightmare - even our 5 year old boy struggled to get into the bench seat past the table support.
So I get why they've tried to engineer something without a support. But I share your scepticism about this. Surely more sensible just to build a small thin table instead of this chunky one with a simple rectangular metal leg like the YesCampervan Grand California replacement table.

They call it (translating from German) an 'easy table' although I cannot see it taking much weight, especially from those people who put all their weight on the table when getting up from their chair!

Hey Alan, shoukd the base van model be a consideration when buying a new campervan? Ducato's are obviously the most common but there are increasingly more options from Ford, VW, MAN, Peugeot and Citroen. Any to avoid?

Everybody will tell you one to avoid and that is because they had a bad experience with it. Despite my keeness for the Ford as I like the shape and the extra headroom it gives, there have been problems with it. Nonetheless, I would suggest that it is not so much the base vehicle but the construction of the habitation area which is most important!

Pity you don’t read the comments in your videos, the open shelving above the dinette bench seat is removable so that a TV can be fitted and slide out of the way when not in use. The open shelving above the rear be is brilliant, perfect for iPad, phones, books, keys, wallets, morning coffee…..The rear doors are insulated with the same material as the sides of the Ducato shell, I know this because I own one! Can I suggest that if your viewers want to know the true situation with Weinberg’s insulation they look at this RUclips video “How to build a Weinberg CUV - Part 1 Insulation” or “Knaus CUV Expertise - Part 1 Insulation” Which follow vans under construction in the factory.

He has responded back to some of my comments before. So he may not read every single comment but I do know he reads some.😊

I’ve pointed out to Alan on previous Weinsberg reviews abut the TV position, shelves above the bed and insulation.

Alan replies to almost all my comments....front shelf tv storage, why not door instead...that can be removed, even better, have the TV on teh domo vehicle, also TV use is declining, more people using tablets for media, and those few inches of space to "hide" the TV doesnt make much difference, so why not have storage with door, or shelp lip. and the rear shelves, why not have fold down lip/door instead so it could be used as tablet shelf, but also store thinsg while in transit, have no lip open shelf is much more limited.

There is indeed an option for electric under floor heating at £748

I put an electric floor in my self build vehicle Mark - it was nice as a gimmick I suppose - but it does not beat a double floor (which is not realistic in a vehicle of this size).

It is not possible to have a normal bed in 540 van. The width of the bed where the feet are is not normal.

id rather have mosquito and blind seperate so you can just have mosquito on its own, does make sense......good cheap vehicle, sensible size for UK, but teh bed is weird shape, think id rather have a rear lounge with this size as it ahs a decent bike rack...
