  • This section of the Annapurna Circuit is one of the more deadly parts. Two people died a few days before we made the pass, here's why its so dangerous.
    This is the trek to Tilicho Lake, at almost 5,000 meters in elevation the altitude gain is wild on this hike. Before you get to the lower base camp for the lake you have to go through a large part of trail that is exposed mountain where landslides occur frequently. The most dangerous time to hike here is later in the day when the sun begins to melt the ice and the rocks start to loosen up.

    Strictly speaking Tilicho Tal side trip is not part of the Annapurna Circuit trek (unless one crosses over to Jumbesi using that route, requires camping, have done that).
    Also "highest lake in the World" is just marketing speak, there are dozens of lakes located higher in Nepal (and Andes even higher). Just look at the Khumbu maps as an example, easy to find half a dozen lakes at over 5000m altitude.

    Is this the footage from your recent trek, what is the difficulty level if you have already done EBC trek?

      Yes this is footage from my trek on the Annapurna Circuit from October 2022. I haven't done EBC yet but I could imagine it would be similar. It's a common route and people of all ages and expertise do the trek. Highly recommend you give it a try. You can watch the other videos I made about it if you're more curious about the route!

    Is it still possible to do the annapurna circuit solo. Like No Guide or is that illegal and could land us in trouble if caught?

    • @goodlifepursuer
      @goodlifepursuer  Год назад +1

      You will have to check with the local information. The change to fully guided treks only has been happening slowly so I've heard mixed messages. For now I would assume you need a guide.
