Beautiful little guys
I was watching an australian guy's fish room tour and he had these. He called them "rads" and kept them as dithers in his apisto breeding tanks. I wish they were more available here in the states.
This was fantastic.I just bought some!
You have an amazing collection of plants fish and knowledge...
Thank you kindly and thanks for always staying active in this community and checking out what's new. Best wishes, Alex.
Awesome fish. I have a group of 16 teewah creek.
Oh right on! I wish we had access to more in the USA
so many unusual rainbowfish
I know! There are 14 species from Madagascar that aren't even in the hobby any place but in one guys tank at a university in Madagascar
Awesome little fishies.
👍💓👍
Sweet, more nano rainbow fish to learn about
Yeah, the signafers/blue eyes, threadfins, Dwarf neons, all 14 psuedomugil species and then these guys...you have quite the mini-party on your hands hehe
These are beautiful rainbows, have yet to try them. Thanks for the profile!
Yeah they kind of remind me of the maculatus rainbows too
Very cool little fish
Yeah, I had totally forgotten about them. They live a long time, so stay under the 1-2 inch mark most their life...and males hit 2 inches at 3 or 4 years old...die by 4 or 5
These would go well with pacific blue eyes and firetail gudgeons.
Totally!
Hey 👋 Alex hope you are doing great thanks for another great video. I love my Dwarf rainbow fish I have a couple different species.
Right on, thank you. What other species do you have?
I have 5 fork tail blue eye furcata rainbow fish and 8 red neon blue eye rainbow fish
Color Changing Eyes!
Blue to Topaz
They are beautiful fish. I want some!
When I have some room in a 20 long that's solo, I'll be spawning them and ill make a video/let you know when I get fry
They are often times available through Roseline17 on aquabid or on Get Gills where he goes by Marcel's fish. He has the most comprehensive collection of Rhadinocentrus in the country and has collected with Leo O'Reilly in Australia
Got some Carland Creeks a few weeks back - they're fantastic!
What color form do they tend to show?
@@Fishtory Carlands are predominately blue. Its a rare anomaly to find a half blue have orange variant
Yes - predominantly blue from brilliant iridophores. Google makes it look like you'll get a saturated half blue, half orange in the males, but that is looking doubtful. Still beautiful with the dark margins around the scales and the spunky personalities. I got them from Dan's Fish, and I think he said they are from the Leo O'Reilly line originally.
Is there an ember tetra with no tail? Really cool rainbow fish as well. Never seen these.
Haha yes there is... i bought him that way, thinking id fix him up... well, good old "John Doe".... he's got no "tail" to tell. He's never healed but he scoots around and is probably the most piggy and aggressive of the whole shoal lol
Didn’t know this species , looks awesome also the fact they stay so small . I have melanoeatenia australis and melanotaenia boesmeni ... by the way one of your flame tetras is missing the tail poor thing
Oh the ember! Yeah poor dude... he's never had one actually...but he scoots around fine I guess lol
Alex it is encore time yet ?? Encore encore
ENCORE!
Hey Alex, what about the secret pufferfish that are in Vietnam that has never been shipped out before? Mentioned by father fish
There are something like 118 puffer fish species known, so I would guess we will be seeing more and more of them eventually
Great fishy spotlight! Is it feasible to make a biotope around these guys?
100%
@@Fishtory Nice. If you ever do another stream on biotopes would love that inclusion
Gary Lange did not collect the Searys creek Rhadinocentrus and has not collected in Australia for a number of years. He received his stock from Leo O'Reilly in Australia.
Oh okay thanks for the info. Our club has many friends in MASI and Erik Olson is who passed them my way, saying "They are from Seary's Creek, Gary Lange sent them to me from his collection". So I assumed they were from his Aru II/ Australia trip in 06 or whatever is was...but, obviously I was assuming that with the info I had at hand. I had some great M. trifasciatus from Pappan Creek a few years back, that I seem to recall Leo collecting...I may be incorrect though.
Do you know who collected these originally for the USA then? I've seen photos from the 1990s with them, but no idea how they got to Seattle keepers.
@@Fishtory Gary Lange has the Seary's creek location as well as several others he received from Leo. Marcel Wuethrich is likely the most recent US collector to visit Leo in Australia to obtain new stock. He goes by Roseline17 on aquabid. A lot of the Aussie fish Gary has came from a GSAS Dave Wilson as well
I have some from about 100 km south of where these are
Oh right on! I'd love more collection points... I have a few poonah creek and then maybe a dozen seary creeks
I've ordered some here in Singapore....
Poor little ember tetra, should heal up in a month or so. Same thing happened with a neon of mine but I had to isolate it in a qt.
This poor guy has been like that for months and months, perhaps a year actually. Since I rescued him from a 1.99 sale at Petsmart. His tail hasn't ever come back, but he gets around just as swiftly as the best of them.
Alright alright
Alright!
Great....new rainbows to hunt for lol.
I know, right? Well they sure come in a ton of color varieties, so even if you find some...there's 4 or 5 more variants to collect haha
@@Fishtory so true! Right now I'm excited that my pseudomugils have spawned in their tank. 3 surprise babies!!! But I just love the color on these.
What’s your recommended temp for platies?
72-78
Are the guppies in there so the other fish can eat their fry? Poor guppies.
