    Hello and welcome to the World of Micah! I travel around filming everything and anything I find interesting -from theme parks to abandoned urban exploring. If you enjoy learning more about Disney history, tips & secrets or a fan of Walt Disney World nostalgia you have come to the right place. I also enjoy showing Universal Studios history and taking a look of what’s left of from classic attractions like JAWS and ‪Back to the Future‬. More of an Urban Exploring fan? I travel around Central Florida and film everything from abandoned Toys “R” Us stores to abandoned attractions. I'm also a major Movie Buff! I have found the filming locations from such films as Edward Scissorhands, Halloween (1978) & Hocus Pocus!

      This video shows all THREE total locations the railroad museum was situated.
      It was first where the retail estate was opposite festival bay.... Then moved to the location you are querying which the car park was originally a mall
      ..... And it then finally moved to the fist place yoh write at at the beginning of your video....
      Researching this for you has answered my wonderment of these ghost lines.
      What's more upsetting for me is that it actually featured a live steam locomotive at its first location!

      I tried to share a video link to you but will try do so on insta
      The train museum you visited last actually existed in two other locations before becoming extinct.
      Firstly opposite festival bay (wonder if thats the reason of the whistlestop junction in that area) with the world's largest G scale railroad
      It ran there with a steam locomotive.
      Second it moved to the site you're querying where it ran round the perimeter of a shopping mall, this time the G shale railroad lost some of its size and the ride on train became steam outline.
      It finally moved into a (and the remaining still) heli tours site

    My guess: Orlando International Toy Train Museum, 1994-1998. Located in a storefront where Icon Park is today, and a train ran throughout the back parking lot. It was moved in 1998 to the other location you covered where the helicopter tours are now.

    • @gmmeier321
      @gmmeier321 Месяц назад +4

      That’s right, it was down the other end of International before moving to the helicopter location.

    • @stevedurrell
      @stevedurrell Месяц назад +1

      It wasninitially opposite festival bay d few here the retail prwmises/retail court is and had the world's largest G scale model railroad. It then moved to it's second location which was where sharea states it qas
      Apparently the rideable railroad went around the perimeter of a mall of sorts - to which I presume was turned into tge parking lot sharea refers.
      It failed pretty much there and then moved into the last site which was initially a helicopter tour location.

    The International Toy Train Museum originally opened in 1991 at 5253 International Drive, but had to be relocated in 1995 to 8255 International Drive, where the tracks in this video are, and was renamed Toyland Toy Train Museum. It then relocated a second time around 2000 to the 8990 International Drive Location, and again renamed to Train & Trolley Museum.

    Cool video Micah. Cool to see Travis too, He always comes across well in Promises videos. Have visited central Florida for 30+ years and the older i get the more i enjoy the history. Think it's because we've all witnessed so many changes that we get intrigued about how it all began. Pretty cool. Keep them coming man 😎 👍🏻

    Just found you and started watching all your videos, love em!! I lived off 192 in 1990, I was 21 yro then. It's so shocking to see what's happened to that area in the last 34 years. I can't believe how badly it's gone down hill, so sad. It was just BOOMING back in the day. There was a shoneys where the Nike outlet is now, family members worked there, next to hotel. Water mania..you'd never know if you didn't know all that used to be there. It's crazy and so sad. Worked in a few restaurants ..used to be 2 Marriott restaurants called Allies, one on Vine and the other on what turned into Sizzlers farther up 192. Captain Nemos seafood was off 192 another gone oldie. the foreigners came in and destroyed that area. So sad. Great videos Micah, really enjoy!!

    I remember taking my daughter to The Great Train Museum. At first it had a real steam engine that we rode around the small area. It was so cool,

    It was Trainland of Orlando before they moved to the new location (which they took over from a petting zoo who left their pig behind). I used to work there many, many years ago. It was the same steam reproduction diesel powered train that we moved across the street. It was originally operated out of a storefront in the shopping center with Charlie's Steak House. There was a model train layout and scavenger hunt as well as a retail store with Lionel and Thomas the tank Engine merchandise. The new location had over 4000sf of layout with 20-30 trains running at any given time. The train we had is the same type as the one now at Gatorland, as we sold it to them and installed all the track. I think the engine that was at Trainland (with #18 painted on the outside) ended up at the Osceola Petting Zoo. All that was a long, long time ago and in a different life for me.. but hope this helps.

    I think where you are was the location of the Mercado Mediterranean Village, which was a shopping and entertainment venue. It would've closed in the mid 00s before being demolished then sat empty for a few years. I certainly remember visiting but I don't remember any train attractions. I don't remember international drive having any sort of actual trolleys, the I ride trolly started in 1998 it was originally a much more frequent service using smaller vehicles, operated by the first class coach company, that would be absolutely crammed full back when international drive was a much busier place then it is today.

    Thanks for sharing Micah, I vaguely seem to remember a tram that was on tracks that went all the way up to Beltz Mall, probably not connected as it is a bit of a distance from there.

    It was the “Old Church Street Station Depot” that was abandoned (then later covered up), because of WDW, and the other “big” attractions, that took away the stations’ charm and use

    • @TheRealRodStickler
      @TheRealRodStickler Месяц назад

      I think this person is on the right track. Those tracks go far too long for it just to be connected to an attraction I would think. So I’d suspect they might go back further. I’d think a trip to some sort of local government office might yield some more information. But also looking at the Church Street Station will give you names of various rail lines the station serviced. You could check those names and see if any were trolly service. Just a few thoughts

    Thank goodness you've taken a video if these as I've been trying to both pinpoint them as well as identify what they used to be from when I first saw them about 12 years ago when me and my ex girlfriend were taking a stroll randomly along idrive.
    I believe if you go either further up or down the road into the parking lots that are alongside, there are more!
    Being a railway enthusiast and engineer have always had an interest.
    I'll have a look through my satellite imaging service and see roughly where they lead.
    It may have been for commercial or industrial use rather than for passenger.... So may be curious as to whether there were any businesses rather than attractions in that area
