I recently got a score of 155 on my DET with 160 in Literacy, 155 in Comprehension, and 140 in both Conversation and Production. I practiced this whole video except the last section 13, gave the free practice test 7-8 times and then gave the exam and got 135 Here are some KEY advices : (1) Don't look down (2) Make sure all running apps are closed ( EX: GRAMMARLY, Chrome any other apps like Discord or steam) (3) Don't Sit in a dark environment (4) Even when you are writing try to look up from time to time (it also helps in recognizing spelling mistakes) (4) Don't wear headphones or ear phones (It is mandatory to show your ears Please don't cover it) (5) Make sure you are writing more then asked or speak more then needed with more explanation in every question (6) MOST IMPORTANT: Make sure you are keeping an eye on the timer even though you feel like you you have a lot of time while practicing, the REAL TEST is lengthier and Progressively HARD as well. ((I wrote enough in writing sections but still in some questions I wished the time was more, In one question I did not write conclusion properly, in one question I missed one whole line and in one more question I had only 30 seconds to answer 5 different question)) BE careful and attentive while you give exam. Don't get stressed out practice properly and give exam Try to score more in writing and speaking. ALL THE BEST learners.

I recently scored 135 on my Duolingo English Test, just keep in mind guys that the practice tests are way much easier than the actual exam. To be honest, I didn't expect such a mark bcz I thought I did so bad in the exam 😅. Anyways good luck everybody and just study hard for the exam. Just got my results today. I got 130 score I wasn't expecting this score to be honest I was expecting it to be 90 or something because I think I messed up in speaking and writing section. A few months ago i did a practice test and got 150. So dw much about the marks there but focus on practicing. As they say “think, speak, eat, sleep in English”
I got a score of 130 overall recently, and this has been achieved by referring Teacher Luke videos. I come from a school where English was first language anyway, but I never gave any kind of interview until now and I got the confidence to take the test and perform in it well and I give thanks to your videos Sir. I self studied and used your videos to guide me for about a month. First test was uncertified so on my second attempt I got 135! My university only asked for 90 so I’m very happy with my result. Thank you Mr.Luke ☺️

I was asked to provide an English proficiency test score in order for my application to be processed further. Naturally I shouldn’t be required to provide one because I am Ghanaian and our official language is English. But when the university I am applying to found out that I pursued a four year bachelors degree in China, they had no option but to ask me to submit an English test score. Luckily, they accept the DET. On Thursday, July 14th, the university told me to submit my test score by July 20th. I planned to write on Friday the 15th but didn’t feel ready so I postponed it to Saturday the 16th. I still didn’t feel ready but watching this 5 hour DET course (without the sample test at the end) gave me the courage I needed to take the test. I practically studied for less than 24 hours. The test went well and I scored a 140/160. I often get anxious and very nervous with exams so I am really grateful for this score. Thank you teacher Luke for this channel and the resources you have made available to us. God bless you a ton!

Love your tips that "keep talking though you can't understand the question quite well". For me, the last part of listen and oral answering section was quite hard, I just grasp some keywords and keep talking about that😂 Luckily, the results turned out good, and I am still able to pass my school admission requirement. Love from India, i could able to score 120, even though I was getting 65 - 120, 75- 120, 85 - 130, 95 - 125 in practice test. Real exam was exactly similar to practice test but more questions. I would like to tell you one thing, just practice for 10 to 15 test ( do not get afraid if you get less score in practice test, some times real test questions are easier compare to practice )then directly give your real test Just follow tips given by Teacher luke Sir that's it, you will definitely nail it.

I really spent time watching your videos, especially on describing images. I got 2/3 pictures to describe in the actual test. And then I realized that I should focus more on filling in the blanks. @@riyazshaik5706 The real test is more difficult because it is 1 hour long compared to the practice test. But as long as you have a good foundation in English skills, you practiced the test and you watched Teacher Luke's videos, you are good to go! Good luck on your real test!
When i have just finished my DET 2 days ago and then see this video on youtube today( should have searched for practising materials) :))). But i just received the result and i got 130, i've only practised for a few times. In general, i think DET is not to challenging so yeah guys, be confident!!! @@marixxkk No, there is no chance for such things as coinciding but will be of similar models and formations because as u observed while you're practising in all these sample tests in fill in the blanks section, you are getting to fill words which are almost easy to analyse but in my real test, i got blanks which were related to biology amd i had to fill the blanks which were names of reproductive parts. So, all I can tell you is be prepared for the worst and practise as many sample tests as you can and watch videos on tips and tricks(also RULES). Hope I am helpful and all the best for ur exam.♥️

Great video! I do want to mention though that a stress-timed language is a language where the amount of time between stressed *syllables* are the same, and a syllable-timed language is a language where all syllables last a similar duration _regardless of stress or intonation_ (so these languages *do* have stress on certain words in sentences). But that's just me being nitpicky though. This video still helped me a ton nonetheless.

@@umasivaratri2268 difficulty was similar to the real test. Wasn't very different. But I was a bit stressed in the real test, being careful not to look sideways or let the mouse cursor move outside the given space. Tip: I opened newspaper and practiced describing, all the images I saw, in the structure I learned.

I really want to thank you, with just watching this video and by following your strategies (Without much preparation because I did not have enough time) I got 120 overall (125Literacy, 125 Comprehension, 110Conversation, 105Production). I belive if I took your private course I would get over 150. Your are great buddy.

@teacher luke, your tips helped me a lot since your videos are excellent 👌and informative . Love from India, i could able to score 120, even though I was getting 65 - 120, 75- 120, 85 - 130, 95 - 125 in practice test.
Real exam was exactly similar to practice test but more questions. I would like to tell you one thing, just practice for 10 to 15 test ( do not get afraid if you get less score in practice test, some times real test questions are easier compare to practice )then directly give your real test
Just follow tips given by Teacher luke Sir that's it, you will definitely nail it.

Hello Teacher Luke! I just want to say thank you very much for these very helpful videos. I got a score of 135 on my DET. Your tips are very helpful. I really spent time watching your videos, especially on describing images. I got 2/3 pictures to describe in the actual test. And then I realized that I should focus more on filling in the blanks. Hehe. There was this one word that I cannot really get. But overall, the test was challenging and fun. For the aspiring test takers of DET, practice the free practice on Duolingo to be familiarized. @@riyazshaik5706 Your score will be within that range but it doesn't mean that you'll definitely get that score on the real test. it is up to you how well you do on the real test.
@@riyazshaik5706 The real test is more difficult because it is 1 hour long compared to the practice test. But as long as you have a good foundation in English skills, you practiced the test and you watched Teacher Luke's videos, you are good to go! Good luck on your real test!

When i have just finished my DET 2 days ago and then see this video on youtube today( should have searched for practising materials) :))). But i just received the result and i got 130, i've only practised for a few times. In general, i think DET is not to challenging so yeah guys, be confident!!! @@marixxkk No, there is no chance for such things as coinciding but will be of similar models and formations because as u observed while you're practising in all these sample tests in fill in the blanks section, you are getting to fill words which are almost easy to analyse but in my real test, i got blanks which were related to biology amd i had to fill the blanks which were names of reproductive parts. So, all I can tell you is be prepared for the worst and practise as many sample tests as you can and watch videos on tips and tricks(also RULES). Hope I am helpful and all the best for ur exam.♥️

Great video! I do want to mention though that a stress-timed language is a language where the amount of time between stressed *syllables* are the same, and a syllable-timed language is a language where all syllables last a similar duration _regardless of stress or intonation_ (so these languages *do* have stress on certain words in sentences). But that's just me being nitpicky though. This video still helped me a ton nonetheless.

Hii how hard the real test compared to practice tests?
@@umasivaratri2268 difficulty was similar to the real test. Wasn't very different. But I was a bit stressed in the real test, being careful not to look sideways or let the mouse cursor move outside the given space.
Tip: I opened newspaper and practiced describing, all the images I saw, in the structure I learned.
