About musiCarnival'20:
Sukrtam Foundation takes immense pleasure in presenting to you the second edition of musiCarnival (on the 7th, 8th and 9th of August 2020). This time, the carnival is going global and online.
musiCarnival'20 is a 3-day gala event filled with music and fun, exclusively designed for students of music and rasikas alike. It not only aims at encouraging students and connoisseurs of music to immerse themselves in an experience that will boost their musical creativity, but also at tickling the intellect by fostering an atmosphere of learning through various fun filled events.
The line up of events include live quiz sessions, live interactive games, hosted game shows, a grand online Treasure hunt, fun filled musical video shows by kids, a unique gridlock skit and a long list of games.
The nija roopa dharisanam of the artists and their vocal music without the usual pacca vaadhyam was totally a new experience all together. 🙏

Awesome program. I have lived in USA for over 50 years and had the good fortune to host several musicians, Sowmya being one of them. I am struck by the comradery of the current generation artists who are all so modest and genuinely want to elevate Carnatic music to a new level at the same time make it fun. God bless you all.
It’s such accomplished artists Antakshari leaves the heart desiring more time to each participant. What a galaxy of Vidhushis’ and Vidwans’ . The contest can last all day but please give each great more time

This concept is amazing. The whole program is so entertaining. 30 seconds gap is fine for deciding the next letter / note. The anchor can register the letter but should allow the participant to continue and complete the pallavi / anupallavi. Presently, we are perceiving the announcement of time limit as an interruption to a melodious rendition. It's like abruptly pulling away ice cream cup from our hands.
Nevertheless, how many occasions can we get to hear these great singers without accompaniments and in homely environment? Please continue the program periodically.

As it's being for public viewing my suggestion is also to introduce the raga .

30 secs seems to be too low a time. By the time they pick up it is stopped.Why not increase it to one minute atleast?

I really take pity on all these wonderful musicians who stay quarantined due to compelling circumstances. Nevertheless, It's really quite heartening to see a group of prominent musicians coming together - connecting thru the ever-growing modern technology and having a fun time, at the same time tuning in their primary skill. Great to see the much reverred Smt. Sowmya Madam taking the centre stage and playing a sheet anchor role in this much needed carnival during the time when everyone is under the grip of pandemic fear. With God's Grace, let's get past this prolonged lockdown trials at the earliest possible and get down to our usual business quickly. Let this camaraderie among the music fraternity continue for ever and keep enthralling us thru the much cherished, wonderful art called Carnatic Carnival. Every music enthusiast will only hope that this kind of informal Get-together among the music fraternity takes place as frequently as possible, say, at least once in a quarter and in the process enlighten the Rasikaas not only thru Anthaakshari's, but thru various other modes like Debates, Discussions, Quiz, Collective Music Symphonies (bringing in music instrumentalists & percussionists too together). Let this be a welcome Starting Point and gradually evolve as an inspiring routine event making both musicians as well as the Rasikaas spellbound. After all, this kind of Togetherness is what badly needed to ignite everyone's spirit and keep all of us in "Feel Good" ambience. Our hearty Wishes & Thanx to all these lovely musicians for coming together and making us happy. Special Thanx once again to Sangeetha Kalanidhi Smt Sowmya Madam for taking the Lead. 👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏

This is an excellent, outstanding, scholarly erudite anthyakshari among 9 musicians Vids Ranjani Gayathri, Gayathri Venkataraghavan, Bharathi Ramasubban, Rithvik Raja, Srisan, Amritha Murali, Gayathri Girish, Nisha Rajagopalan, Vignesh Ishwar, facilitated by Vid Soumya and Vid Gayathri. The Antyakshari was in five rounds, the first round in Pallavi, second round compositions commencing in Anupallavi, third round for compositions only in Thodi, fourth round for compositions only in Kalyani, then the final round in Swara (than Akshara) including the position of the swara (sadharana gandhara, antara gandhara etc). Thanks to these Saraswathis and Ganapathis. God bless them.

Instead of starting with a ending note, you can have a raga for all starting with a letter eg.saveri, so that though the kritis would be different hearing pleasure will be better to have one raga for one round

Wonderful experience 😀. Enjoying but 30 seconds is very short to finish a line. Atleast should be one minute !. Regret to say , Ranjani , Gayathri, and Sowmya participation is not much 😌
