Is this guitar good for classic 70s, 80s and early 90s rock like Guns N Roses and Motley Crue ? I don't know if it's mainly aimed for metal since the pickups are active, I already have a guitar with EMG 81/85 so I'm looking for a guitar that can do lighter classic rock.
Thanks for the vid- it's wierd that ESP doesn't have manuals for specific guitars with details like this, just one manual that tries to cover all of them and leaves a lot of unanswered questions.
One of my first guitars was a Korean H-50..almost 20 years ago. I’ve always loved ESP as a company. I used to browse the custom section of their site as a kid, but unfortunately I haven’t found one I’ve liked. I tried out a bunch of EC’s back in 2016 and I remember liking a 256 over the 1000. I was shocked as you’d expect. Playability was just better. I almost bought it, but I needed an amp more. I recently bought another Gibson, but I think with how the EC’s are adding more and more full thickness models I’ll probably pick one up eventually. I just haven’t seen a color or pickup configuration I like.
How are those Fishman pick ups I was thinking about getting a Seymour Duncan invader in the bridge and Seymour Duncan distortion in the neck in my Ltd and my schecter
It’s about as heavy as a Les Paul, so tone is there from the body. Only difference are the pickups. These are active, so you’re going to get a little edgier as opposed to Burstbuckers, or The Gibson 490s. They try to tame these down as they are voiced to emulate classic PAFs.
@@iwentt0jail I have a Les Paul Standard. I think it’s an edgier option.. hotter, but in my opinion? Not comparable. Still? Fluence pickups are awesome.
Esp/ltd especially the deluxe series are in my opinion the most value for the buck guitars I have an old h1000 in honey sunburst and gold mechanics My favorite guitar so far Didn't played a better guitar in this price range or even 1-2 tousend above. They play really nice, low action, have a great sound and resonate great
Agreed…I’ve NEVER picked one up that wasn’t really nice..same with Ibanez….the Ibanez artwood acoustics are INCREDIBLE…especially the mahogany open pore natural finish…thing is super lightweight, and the resonance is ridiculous. If you’re into fingerstyle, blues, etc, you gotta play one…mine was $300 and if I didn’t know any better I’d swear it was at least $2k,,,outplays my Martin and My J-45…comes with really nice Grovers, bone nut….definitely check them out if you’re into shit like that
Thinking about getting this, i got a gibson standard traditional with burstbucker 3 but never liked it for high gain (thrash etc) . Would you recomend this ? Playability vs gibson ?
Great feeling guitar. The Fluence pickups are awesome. If you are really wanting something for high gain? Look for The Fluence Modern. These are more classic sounding pickups, and my assumption is you would be getting the same tone as what you have. I absolutely love this guitar, but it’s much lighter and slightly smaller. Check out the Ec-1000 with the modern Fishman Fluence. That will make you much happier for what you are doing.
Thanks so much. Just got one of these and I was trying to figure it out! Much appreciated!
Makes no sense that should be a nu bone tusq nut
I was a little surprised about that as well.

These aren’t your normal active pickups. They have options for high gain, or regular output pickups. Great guitar!
That guitar is sick!

Do you recommend this?
Great guitar. Very well made. Awesome pickups. Highly recommend!

What happens when both knobs are pulled out? So far I haven't seen anyone clarify that
Nothing. Stays on voice 2

They’re very versatile. Really enjoy the line they’ve created.
@@Donandjess0305 that’s awesome
Would you recommend this for heavy rock/metal?
Yes! Pickups are super tight! No different than Pickups from a Les Paul!
@@Donandjess0305 Thank you!
That color is sooooo nice
Nice video! What about the in-between Sounds, especially in the single-coil-mode?
Thank you. I no longer have it. I wrote it primarily due to the confusion of the switching between channels. It’s not coil tap by any means.
Thanks for the video. Is the back of the neck satin or gloss?
Satin. Very smooth, but shows scratches
Thanks for the info! This is definatley top of my list of guitars for my next purchase.

nice video man, definitely going to save money for that guitar.
It’s a very nice guitar. Just wish ESP/LTD would include a case/ deluxe gig bag with their 1000 series guitars
@@Donandjess0305 yup so true, it deserves a hardcase.
how does this guitar tone compare to the les paul?
