@Fromega001 you mean PCs are upgradeable without a soldering gun and custom pcbs? Thats insane!
lol...do it and post it on you tube...do you have a you tube channel...I do and I wouldn't do this...the band chips from china may arrive defective after all of this the upgrades may not show up in macOS
@georgetechtips8804 when i need more space i just buy the new model, they are pretty cheap. Dont understand the windows users buying SSDs...
What sort of rate You charge per job or an hour???
Can you do the same with the ram?
The price is just as ultra expensive.
Apple going send this guy a ceast and desist letter pretty soon.
32GB unified memory + 512GB SSD storage = Mac Mini M4 (priced the same as the base model). A simpler solution is needed for this.
Apple : You've stolen our money!!!
Macs are so simple they said. Want to add more internal storage? get your hot air desoldering station ready. PC? just undo a screw, stick in a new module.
I have heard that the the Apple 256 GB SSD in M4 Mac Mini runs at very slow speed as compared to SSD in higher models, is it true?
The test at the end of the video shows that the speed is improved compared to the original 256GB test.
Are you able to upgrade the Ram as well?
Nope. Memory is part of the SoC and can't be changed.
It’s actually possible, I’ve seen Chinese videos of a guy upgrading a MBA M1 with 8Gigs to 16 Gigs. But it’s very hard to do off course.
@@L0p3s It definitely needs to be done by a professional if you aren't experienced, but crazy that you can buy the base model and upgrade this much, on a mac device of course.
Genuinely unfortunate... they absolutely knocked it out of the park with this device. It will go down as the home PC to purchase for grandparents and just about anyone with a need for a desktop. The storage options are shameful though. Great for me as an investor... but terrible for me as a consumer.
whats about speed from this new ssd?
Considering Apple use the same chips in Macbooks, I honestly don't see why they even needed a power cable. They could have gone the already implemented route being used by HP in their business notebooks: power the device using USB-C, and allow the connected USB-C monitor to be the computer's power source.
That way, simply turning on the monitor would also turn on the Mac, making the power button's location actually make sense since most users would not need to use it, but it'd still be there for those who do.
I don't know why very few do this.. knowing most can't do this don't want to. You can buy a 1-4+ TB drive book OSX of that.. you can just move the home file over.. then so many times what they NEVER show you is how many times THIS didn't work the 1st time, 2nd, 3rd.. yeah.,
20 years ago I could do this. Now, no way. I would simply hook up an external drive.
I want a Mini with 4Tb of storage, ideally for my use I'd prefer an iMac with that storage option. I know the Mini cost $1800AU to upgrade the storage from Apple (plus $2199AU for the Mini Pro), I wonder how much it will cost going 3rd party?
External SSD with Thunderbolt 3 or 5 is way, way faster, than these internal slow SSDs.😅
Why do you always add the UV Glue?
The most important part is to remove your fingerprints.

Thank you very much.
So risk bricking your new machine and doing this likely means voiding of warranty. It could be the most expensive "cheap" upgrade you make. I hate the ridiculous prices Apple charges for their storage, but this is a big hazard.
@@actualreplyguy Buying this storage from Apple is more than the cost of buying a brand new Mac Mini. So I don't think anyone here cares avoid voiding the warranty.
Homie got skills!
I just wondering when the apple stop scam us about storage. I mean it's replaceable/changeable now, not in slicon. Why they want too much money for minor storage upgrade?
If a lot of people stop following Apple's "scam" and stop buying these MacBooks because of this ....then they will stop doing this "shit" just to stay in business. ;-)
cost for upgrading?
I wonder how much overall this cost I would do this in a heartbeat
@KingSener can you do it in Europe too?
how about the RAM, can it be upgraded too?
The risk is too great, I don't recommend it.
Thank you ;-X
