- This week's video is going to be a little different than our normal videos. We took a five night cruise on the Disney Wonder in April 2022, sailing from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada, Mexico. This was our first time on a cruise in several years, and of course our first time on a cruise ship since the global pandemic began, so we were interested to see how cruising was different in 2022. In this video we go over the boarding process, tour and explore the Disney Wonder, take a look at all the restaurants (Cabanas, Tritons, Animator's Palate, and Tianna's Place), and see what it's like to take a cruise now. We also talk about the harbor cruise and city tour shore excursion in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

don't recall if you mentioned it, but when you talked about it being hard to choose the best part is you don't have to if you don't want to. You could literally order 1 of each item or even multiple if something was particularly good. I learned this before our first cruise, and some vets at our table were not shy about showing us how it was done haha. Very excited for our next one in a few more months.
Hi Steve, you and your family are so blessed. Getting to travel to all the places you go to. I live in northern California and I have had the luxury to visit the sites and towns here but I don't get the opportunity to do what you do. I went to Disneyland in October 2022 for the first time since 1996 and I enjoyed it. I would give anything to take the Disney cruise you went on. Because of you I get to learn and enjoy thru your videos. The bad thing is that I want to go to those places myself and do what you do but I only work at a Chinese restaurant and can't afford to do what you do. At least I can experience it thru your videos. Thank You so much.

Wow ! Enjoy ! Our family of 18 people went in 2002.. it was fantastic..however, DISNEY will not be sucking up any of our money for many years to come...maybe never again... love your vids.

Oh wow! So many people seem to be taking Disney cruises lately. Great tour though! I always thought it would be fun to take a cruise, but won't lie... the last couple years have me rethinking it. That and not having kids I always question how weird we would feel specifically on a Disney cruise (despite being fans of the parks). The stops look fun though especially the glass blowing. Sidenote... I'm actually wearing the EXACT same Petrified Forest shirt right now that Glenn brought back recently. 😂 Fun to see your wife make an appearance as well!
There were a lot of people without kids, but for us, I don't think we'd go on a Disney Cruise if we didn't have a kid to be honest. As for my wife's appearance, I was shocked she wanted to do it. Normally the camera goes on and everyone runs lol.
@@SidetrackAdventures I'm the same way. Glenn's become comfortable with it but I still feel so incredibly awkward & tongue-tied so I'm content to just handle everything after recording. 😅 My hats off to her though. She came across natural and like a pro! I enjoyed her duck segment. 😊
I haven’t got kids but I’ve got one booked for me and my parents in January 2024! Life’s too short to worry about what others think, if you think you’d like it then go for it! I totally understand the awkward feeling though, I used to feel that way all the time about anything I did!

Fun fact on my cruise in 2015 (leaving Galveston hitting Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel), I was able to get tv reception in my room until the night before pulling into Jamaica.
I went on The Wonder from FL to Bahamas, I did this Land and Cruise. I had a deck! My room was larger, I think Deck5.

Took the Disney cruise from Barcelona back in May and now going to do this cruise coming up in November! It looks exactly the same haha!
I would love to try one of those one day, but I live in Europe, and for now, Disney cruises are too expensive and too far away for us. Still plenty of nice ships here, but Disney really seems to be something different.

We just booked directly through the cruise. If you get the app I think you can use that to book the shore excursions too.

I went on the Disney wonder cruise in September 2005. I did the Ocean club on the cruise with my cousin.One time I told my dad don’t interrupt my fun when playing on the computer and I asked a boy to take a toy down the slide with him. I also had a good conversation with a girl in the club one night. I also did Dress up in the club one or two times. Also the club used to be Pirate theme when I went. The slide resemble barrels stacked on each other and the playground was like a pirate ship. The also had this small mini slide that I would ride on. 7:32 is where the Mickey pool used to be which where I swam on the cruise and I did a splash contest with two girls one the cruise one night. One time my cousin also ate ice cream on the deck and I also walked around the deck one night with my parents. Also Tiana Palace used to be Parrot cay where me and my parents would eat breakfast on the cruise. I also had dinner with my parents at Animator Pallet while I was on the cruise. I also turn on the bubbles for hot tub as some people were entering it one night when I was on the cruise.

Disney Wonder is coming to New Zealand next year, i am waiting for the tickets to go on sale so that i can book me and my daughter in for a cruise. I'm more excited than her about it 😂😂😂

I don't think the upper bunk would be very comfortable for an adult and it said it had a weight limit on it (200 something). The lower bed can definitely sleep an adult because apparently my nephew convinced my dad to switch beds one night.

Can you identify what new/first run movies showing at the Buena Vista Theater? Just curious on how recent the movies are. Love your video!
Turning Red was the newest movie playing there on our trip at the beginning of April. The other movies were Encanto, Dr. Strange (the first one), and a few others I don't remember. In 2018 we took a Disney Cruise at the beginning of May and Avengers Infinity War was playing which had come out at theaters the week before.
You can pause the video when he shows the theater Marquis and see all the movie shows that are playing at the theater pretty much look like everything was old but we were on a recent cruiseship other than Disney and all the movies are not up to date anymore
Can you please tell me what exact room that was you were in it looks like we would be interested in that particular room so at least we know what we’re getting thank you very much we are San Diego residents also

Do they provide the pirate hats and eyepatch for the pirate dinner?
I think they just gave out a bandana and someone else in my family brought hats and eye patches.
Hi. Great content! Was there a refrigerator in the cabin? If yes, was there a small freezer as well?
There was something that was more like a cooler. It kept waters cold, but didn't cool them down. No freezer.
What a great experience except I didn't do the weight gain.
We are taking the same cruise in late January, is there anything you can share about the weather condition on board the ship
The weather will probably be fine, but maybe a little chilly, the Baja area doesn't get that cold and the pools are pretty shielded from the wind. Inside the ship is all temperature controlled.
Hey great video! We’re goin the week of Halloween on a 4 night cruise to Cabo. Just wondering, do u know if we’re allowed to bring costume props like a lightsaber on board? Also was the gratuity added at the end of the cruise and if so, how much was it per person? We can’t wait to go in 3 months!
They sell pirate swords and stuff on the ship, so I can't imagine them turning away a lightsaber, but I'm not 100% sure. We did the prepaid gratuity and they gave us slips to put in envelopes to give to the waiters and housekeepers. I think it was something like $14 a day per person.

Which of the stage shows or movies were best/worst to see?
The movies were all recent or semi-recent Disney/Marvel stuff. We really enjoyed the magician. The musical got canceled for some reason, so I can't speak on that. The mock awards show they do is skippable IMO.

I have never been on a cruise at sea, how was the ocean, could you feel the waves?
There were times when you could feel it but for the most part it was pretty calm.

I think it was 6618. We were right next to the aft elevator.

Yes, everyone 5 and up needed one. Not sure if that has changed since though.
When you rotate restaurants you have to pay for it or is that included when buying the tickets?
All the food is included in the tickets.

I don't remember if they do. There is a shop where you can buy stuff though.

There is but it is pretty expensive.

would suggest dropping the background music, it makes it hard to hear you and adds nothing to the video. think about it, if you had a video with only the music, no one would watch it.
