Mij last coloring was last month. Next week it will be 3 weeks. 😅 I am totally motivated and I will never go back. My hair was just above breast length. But I let it trim to my neck/ almost shoulder. And it’s so beautiful. Women want to hold on to their long hair. But hair needs layering and movement. Otherwise it is just hanging there very heavily. I think because of the trimming the transition will go smoother. I never want to go longer. Good luck! 🥰

You said everything I was thinking when I started growing out my gray.my mom was in her eighty's and her hair was still black with white hair natural highlights, my dad, white and blond. I love going through the transition, I will never cover my gray. Love it too much.

Almost 3 1/2 years later and here I am with 90% white hair and love it. Stick with it. You're going to love, love, love it!

I am currently letting go and going gray. I was doing so well in ‘20-‘21 but in November I broke down and dyed my hair black. It didn’t last long, my hair dried out more, had to cut 2” off…blah blah blah. I’m over it! Your energy is awesome and good luck on your journey!!!!

Love your attitude girl! You are absolutely right...they don't pay your bills! Hahaha I love it. The first 6 months to a year is the hardest because you're always fighting that damn line of demarcation. I gave up and ended up going with a cute short pixie haircut and grew it out from there. Cutting off the last of the old hair dye was the best feeling ever.

I ditched the dye. It's been 4 going on 5 months now. I have been coloring my hair for over 45 years. I am so over it. Right now, I look like a calico cat. I have so many different colors going on. I don't care what other people say or think. I want more time to myself. So over being a slave to the hair color. I am so looking forward to having it all grown out!!! Hang in there ladies! Hi Jenny! Your video just came up and I felt the need to offer you some encouragement. I am 94 weeks into "ditching the dye." I love my hair and every day someone compliments me on the way it looks. I also had very dark hair and the first 4-5 mos. were tough but I wore headbands and toughed it out. The other good news; so much of my hair around the crown grew back. I didn't realize how much it had thinned bit it's so full and my hair is really healthy. Hang in there. I'm subscribing so I hope you keep posting. Merry Christmas!

I love it, you remind me of me when I started, it's been 2yrs 3 months. I will share with you that in the beginning it was hard I felt old and sloppy but Thank God I was not working. Now I'm happy feel great about my decision for now won't go back to the dye...God luck I'll be rooting for you,,,

If dying my hair wasn’t so harsh on my scalp believe me letting go wouldn’t have been an option. I am losing a lot of hair. I’ve tried everything. Now it seems to be growing back in. It’s not cause I can’t afford it or that I’m letting myself go. I know it’s not for everyone. Who knows maybe if it gets to a point that I cannot live with it, I might dye it back. But time will only tell. It’s only been 3 months.
Great video. You will be beautiful in grey hair. I have made the decision to let my grey grow naturally also. I have been wanting to but always give up for reasons you stated. I'm going to do it and cold turkey with no dying what so ever! I'll just keep my short style and that's it ! I'm done spending all that $$ on dying and bleaching. Plus it's not healthy for me all those chemicals

Dont listen to negative comments...let it grow out,,I promise it will be worth it,,I had long hair too...went cold Turkey two years ago...got some short layers...a couple more trims,,I will be done...Do it girl,,you got this...
I have also stopped colouring my hair ... two years ago .. it feels so good .. it's almost white now .. Yes I was tempted to put in a colour recently, I am so glad I didn't.
I’ve been losing my hair too and breast cysts. I am only one month in as of March 2023. I’m just so sick of coloring, cost, and time spent in the salon chair. I sure hope my hair gets thicker.
I hate this concept of embracing and not embracing. Live and let live. If you dye/not dye your hair it doesnt mean you are embracing or not embracing. We all have our preferences. My hair is black and I dye it black because I LOVE BLACK HAIR! thats my aesthetic
About once a week I have an internal argument with myself to just give up and dye it again, but I’ve hung in there since October. Thanks for the encouragement
Ohhhhhh Sarah!!! I know that same argument all too well!!! It happens when I put my hair in a ponytail and the little new growth sticks straight up like antenas!!!! 🤣 😂 😜
Tip re demarcation: use purple shampoo and a real good one. I also used Fanciful Roux Black Rage where Grey grew out. Darkens your base only but makes it less stark.
I decided to go Grey in 2018. Started w/convo if I had cancer and went through chemo I don't think I would botherxw/dye once it grew out. Then that got me on a roll. A month later for Halloween I went as sugar sku inspired by mama Ireland from coco. I put silver streaks on my blog brown dyed hair. Then I told my coworker " I think I can pull this Grey hair off." Crickets. Month later after pouring through Google images of Grey hair, bobs and curly bobs I went and bleached my hair. For the next 14mis I let it grow out and kept getting it cut. That was key. I'd read compliments from people saying the color growing out pretty. It grew out the way I wanted. Salt pepper on top black on the bottom. Best part: by the time 2020 covid shutdown came my hair was completely grown out. I love it. I had seen a RUclips video re Grey hair and the woman said " nobody cares! Nobody gives a shit! Just do it and gi grey" and she was right. No one really cares so don't be scared. It so liberating once you decide to do it.

I stopped dying my hair in November and I’m only a quarter way through. I am persevering though. I think of Elon Musk who said pursue your goals. I sooo admire him! Hopefully I will be complete grey by April 2022.

Do it girl!!!! I feel so liberated cause I don’t have to dye it every two weeks and felt so frustrated cause I was like dang I justttttttt dyed you guys. I took pictures of the top of my head and I was devastated at how thin my hair was getting. 😭😭😭. I am praying that as time goes by my hair will get thicker!!! 😘😘😘
I tried it for 4-5 months while at the same time letting my hair go curly. I just didn't have enough silver or white coming in that would have made it look pretty. I had the weirdest gray pattern, lol. Went back to the dye, but feel terrible about it. On the bright side, I no longer have to spray on the color just to be seen in public.

@@jennydejesus72 As a hair stylist , the worst thing to do is the strip method! Add a bunch of long layers. I transitioned my mom who is 81. I love the way mine is coming in the first 3 weeks were hard. Mine is so soft and shiny but I am only 4 weeks in! I bought the true bloom vitamins which do work.!
I shaved to start clean , I have try three times so I know is not easy! Es dificil pero lo puedes lograr si realmente quieres una sabe cuando esta lista con el proceso! yo me tinturaba cada dos semanas , ests stage que estas es el mas dificil si quieres dejar el cabello largo, yo como dije me corte muy corto por que no podia verme la mitad del cabello un color el otro rojo! me tinturaba rojo.

Hi Elsa Grace! Well it became a pain because I have to dye it every two weeks and I used professional product (Cosmetologist). My hair on top was thinning out a lottttttttt. So the dye is more damaging to my scalp. So with some encouraging from my family and watching some other ladies on RUclips, I decided to try it. And it’s been so liberating. It can make you looked washed yes!!!! And I don’t feel so comfortable all the time but it’s because of what I am wearing and if I don’t have some makeup on to complement it. And if my hair is not styled. So you have to look what clothing and make up completes your new hair color so it all goes together and you feel like a new person. I have tanned skin so I feel like the darker clothing look better. I have been using deeper lip color and that helps too. I want to try some more color so be sure to watch future videos.
they sell a spray in grey, black, brown and other colors . I used it to transition. i believe its from L'oreal and its a small spray . you can find it at Target, walmart, walgreens maybe that can help you hid some of the thining . let me know if that helps.

Hang in there! I swear the three month mark is truly the roughest patch. In my experience, i felt like I turned a corner around 6 months.

I’m just not ready…mine was growing out white , not grey so after 4 months I coloured it again. If it had been grey I would have probably let it all grow in. Anyway.. you were very inspiring!!

If dying my hair wasn’t so harsh on my scalp believe me letting go wouldn’t have been an option. I am losing a lot of hair. I’ve tried everything. Now it seems to be growing back in. It’s not cause I can’t afford it or that I’m letting myself go. I know it’s not for everyone. Who knows maybe if it gets to a point that I cannot live with it, I might dye it back. But time will only tell. It’s only been 3 months.

Great video. You will be beautiful in grey hair. I have made the decision to let my grey grow naturally also. I have been wanting to but always give up for reasons you stated. I'm going to do it and cold turkey with no dying what so ever! I'll just keep my short style and that's it ! I'm done spending all that $$ on dying and bleaching. Plus it's not healthy for me all those chemicals

I’ve been losing my hair too and breast cysts. I am only one month in as of March 2023. I’m just so sick of coloring, cost, and time spent in the salon chair. I sure hope my hair gets thicker.
I hate this concept of embracing and not embracing. Live and let live. If you dye/not dye your hair it doesnt mean you are embracing or not embracing. We all have our preferences. My hair is black and I dye it black because I LOVE BLACK HAIR! thats my aesthetic

When transitioning to grey the trick is to keep your hair short. It gives a more subtle demarcation line.

Tip re demarcation: use purple shampoo and a real good one. I also used Fanciful Roux Black Rage where Grey grew out. Darkens your base only but makes it less stark.

I decided to go Grey in 2018. Started w/convo if I had cancer and went through chemo I don't think I would botherxw/dye once it grew out. Then that got me on a roll. A month later for Halloween I went as sugar sku inspired by mama Ireland from coco. I put silver streaks on my blog brown dyed hair. Then I told my coworker " I think I can pull this Grey hair off." Crickets. Month later after pouring through Google images of Grey hair, bobs and curly bobs I went and bleached my hair. For the next 14mis I let it grow out and kept getting it cut. That was key. I'd read compliments from people saying the color growing out pretty. It grew out the way I wanted. Salt pepper on top black on the bottom. Best part: by the time 2020 covid shutdown came my hair was completely grown out. I love it. I had seen a RUclips video re Grey hair and the woman said " nobody cares! Nobody gives a shit! Just do it and gi grey" and she was right. No one really cares so don't be scared. It so liberating once you decide to do it.

I stopped dying my hair in November and I’m only a quarter way through. I am persevering though. I think of Elon Musk who said pursue your goals. I sooo admire him! Hopefully I will be complete grey by April 2022.

I tried it for 4-5 months while at the same time letting my hair go curly. I just didn't have enough silver or white coming in that would have made it look pretty. I had the weirdest gray pattern, lol. Went back to the dye, but feel terrible about it. On the bright side, I no longer have to spray on the color just to be seen in public.

I stopped years ago because it made my head itch and the fact that the dye leaches into your skin. It’s way easier if you cut your hair.

I transitioned my mom who is 81. I love the way mine is coming in the first 3 weeks were hard. Mine is so soft and shiny but I am only 4 weeks in! I bought the true bloom vitamins which do work.!

I shaved to start clean , I have try three times so I know is not easy! Hi Elsa Grace! Well it became a pain because I have to dye it every two weeks and I used professional product (Cosmetologist). My hair on top was thinning out a lottttttttt. So the dye is more damaging to my scalp. So with some encouraging from my family and watching some other ladies on RUclips, I decided to try it. And it’s been so liberating. It can make you looked washed yes!!!! And I don’t feel so comfortable all the time but it’s because of what I am wearing and if I don’t have some makeup on to complement it. And if my hair is not styled. So you have to look what clothing and make up completes your new hair color so it all goes together and you feel like a new person. I have tanned skin so I feel like the darker clothing look better. I have been using deeper lip color and that helps too. I want to try some more color so be sure to watch future videos.

they sell a spray in grey, black, brown and other colors . I used it to transition. i believe its from L'oreal and its a small spray . you can find it at Target, walmart, walgreens maybe that can help you hid some of the thining . let me know if that helps.
