I agree with this man's findings. I've had a 55 gallon tank for three years now. Plants are growing very well. I have a population of small snails and a plecko that are doing a great job,( no visible poop). I've been changing 5 gallons off the bottom once a month and filter materials. So far so good!
Solid information that you’re comfortable sharing. Keep it up Nick
Thanks so much
Saw your first video as regards guppies.
Best tank set up. Is an undergravel filtration system that works alongside sponge filter.
Have swordtails, guppies, coridories few snails. Didn't watch it all the way through. Heater just purchased at the end of the week. Have a stone that puts the pH balance in few live plants. Happy days.
Ta for the early advice. Ps used to keep fish over 20 year's ago.
Getting the right balance is paramount.
In my experience most fish that rummage through sand can make a big impact on the cleanliness of your substrate if you have a sand bottom. If you have enough plants, nitrates will be kept low enough that you won't need to do water changes.
Thanks for watching
Hi, what fish did you use?
@@elijah..5290 My 6 Corydora cats keep my white substrate looking super clean everyday. I don’t even see any poop on my substrate. They are Forsure the best bottom cleaners for me.
@@Ashw1115 how are you able to keep your copies alive just after buying them, I lose a few and then the 1s that make it past the 1 or 2 month mark make it for a few years and then out of the blue die unless that I'm just not seeing the signs. Any tips
@@robinvangrysperre9568 The ones that die the first couples days usually are sick already from the pet store. Corydoras are hardy fish so as long as your tank is cycled, they should be doing good. I acclimate them by putting them in a bucket and putting 1 cup of the tank water in every 10 minutes. it’s a slow process but it usually takes me an hour.
I like how you add time lines to your videos
This is my one stop fish channel!👍
Thanks Nathan
My fish brother love your videos lot’s of great info thank you for sharing
Great video buddy, found this video very informative. Keep up the good work
Thanks mate
Great video new to all this stuff thanks for the help. Subscribed
I love all the countdowns ( top 5,7,10, etc)
Interesting! Mainly made for the newbies but I’m glad you like them!!!
I am obsessed with cherry shrimps (good and informative video brother 👌)
Thank you
Good list. Left for me to try out is a pleco. My favorite in the list is plants!
Yea! Thank you
Great list and video as always.
Thanks again Darryl !!
A great topic that I was looking for. Also, a lot of people don’t know about the maintenance cycle you described so, good to make it clear. Also, do you reckon after bettas you’ll get into honey gouramis. Thanks
Maybe! Idk yet
Great instructional! Thanks man!🎉
Super detailed!
Thanks for the info! do you have any info on what best co exists with a beta fish for this purpose?
Now that the fish room has been running for a little bit, can you do a maintenance day video? How does your auto-water change system work? Are all the tanks completely separate or does a row share the water?
Yea definitely! All tanks are separated
I’m early cool! Love this channel
Thanks!
I'm late cool! Love this channel
That opening statement I got the feeling like you’ve been asked the same old question a million times and are a tad bored of hearing it lol. Thanks for the info mate.
Great video! Subscribed
Thank you
Thanks for the great video......I prefer Corydoras...they're pretty little guys. : )
Good advice
Remember, we are here to hear your opinion. Stip worrying about what hecklers say. We like the way you break things down, and we like learning from you. If we wanted to learn from the trolls, we would watch them. Ignore them, we do. Stop apologizing for the way you do things. It works. You're doing great.
Hello great content I have guppies and shink in my tank but the shrimp are hunting the guppies what do I do
i have oscars and i have them in a planted tank i was wondering if they would try to eat the shrimp. I'm getting a lot of algae growing on the plants and i need a cleanup crew.
Awesome 👏
Thank you
I'm new to this channel and man! This is what i am looking for! Amazing!
Thanks mate!
Awesome video Nick, I like the thumbnail 👍🥵
Thanks Sarah!!!
You should do a video on what fish is best for different tanks there's many different gallons of tanks
Great list of cleaners... So your saying I still have to do water changes?? 😂😉
Nice informative vid! Keep it up mate! Like the fact that you are now recording on your fishroom. 😁
Thank you bro!!
Nice vid Nick.
Thanks 🙏
Very Nice
Thanks
Very thorough. What would you suggest for a 5.5 gallon? I have sand as my substrate. I was thinking about 3 kuli loaches or 4 pygmy corydoras...?
I’d say less than that unless if you plan on feeding them food after the algae is gone
I got my one cory, and it's really cute!
I would recommend having at least 5 so they don’t get depressed, look up “minimum number of corys”. I personally have 6 in one of my tanks
@@Brilliance792 I have a group of 3 and they are thriving in my community tank and even swim with the other schools of fish. I feel like 6 Cory’s is an overkill if you don’t have a 70+ gallon aquarium.
Are there any cleanup fish that can live with cichlids
COOL VIDEO 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hi i am not sure that you will see this but i want a plant that (helps) clean the tank and not take much space because i want plants it will make it cleaner snd look better BUT if its big makes alot of roots it will make many hideing spaces (which is good but too much) i cant see the fish so have any plants that do that (and are plants just put in tank and done or are the other stuff)
I personally have
In 1 tank
Neon tetra amber tetra
Bronze cory
Shrimps
But apple snails really clean the algea
They keep my moss and plants clean
But snails breed so fast it might be to much for your eyes
Hey bruda cherry shrimp can’t be kept with big angelfish???ans me plz
Hi, great vid. And yes I’m a beginner lol, my question is-at 5:05 in your vid what is the floating plant? Is it a wisteria? Thank you. 😊
I think it's water sprite
Are ghost schrimps good
Nice video
Thanks Sam
my bristlenose female also eats blackbeard algae, i know because a lot of times i see it around her lips
Have you ever had pygmy catfish.. What do you think of them?
What kind of snails? Any kind?
Hi remember me? I have a question my male balloon mollie has been following my female and putting his head near her bum she doesn’t like this and tends to chase him away but he comes back any ideas???
That’s just the male trying to breed. It should be all ok.Infact, you should get fry soon.
@@fishingaddicts4739 it’s been happening for a month ok thx so much I’ll prepare
Hi buddy
I’ve got two different colours of gravel that are separate layers is the anyway of cleaning it with out mixing it up or do I have to give in and mix it all up thanks bud
Not too sure
Siamese algae eaters are top tier. They love hair algae and black beard algae which is the most stubborn. Can have the most overgrown tank and it would be clean in days.
Definitely not. They are one of the most overrated algae eaters on the market. They're great. When you first get them, they become extremely lazy, very fast and become extremely dependent on your fish food, a food source that they don't have to work for
I need one that helps me out with cleaning the stones and the plastic plant
Mainly stones they any me any tips on cleaning the let me know
do you use humidifier on your fish room ?
The aircon helps
Please I need help. I need some help with my plecko fish I have an albino male and a normal female I have put a breeding cave but the male never gets close to it I have them in a n aquarium but I can put them in a bin does that make a difference. Please help
Not too sure
@@KeepingFishSimple THANKS FOR THE HELP I BET THEY'RE GOING TO MAKE 123424234521 BABIES FROM THIS HELP. lol
What fish would be good for a 5 gallon
A betta
Can you keep Cory's and plecos in one tank
I've seen it work, you just have to make sure everyone gets fed
Yes
Can i put shrimp together with honey gourami's? Someone told me that gourami's eat shrimp.
Yes I think they will
@@KeepingFishSimple okay, thanks man.
I've noticed that my snails eat algae but they produce a lot of waste.
Hlo ... I m from india and i like you
You are correct, because water rots, and even if there are fishes that will eat some of the nastyness, we still are responsible for water quality and what is left behind.
Water does not rot. You have no idea what you're talking about kid
Will Cory cats eat algae?
No they don't really 🙂
@Victory Tom Thanks Tom!
I actually do see them eating algae off of plants but that’s about it. If you’re looking for Cory’s to clean algae off of glass and decor, you’re wasting your time.
Plecos are nice but there not especially algae eaters I'd use ottocinclis and narite snails they go to town on it
Bristlenose are definitely algae eaters, thanks for watching!
My clown pleco is one of the top algae eaters in my tank, weird. Different plecos do different things I guess.
Why do you have forks in your tan
Mollies are good cleaners😁
Fun fact: In puerto rico, the bristlenose pleco is commonly known as "Limpia Peceras". Which means tank cleaners
I wonder who cleans the lake where I fish, the water is crystal clear.
Exactly. There's absolutely no reason to have to spend excess time vacuuming a tank. The only reason is if you're overfeeding and you don't have proper cleaner fish. I have a 46 gallon bow front that has been up and running for almost 15 years. It hasn't seen a vacuum in over 3 years. Overfiltration heavy stock including lots of bristlenose, loaches and Corey's keep that tank. Crystal clear with no buildup of waste
I have th Cora Dora's to
😍
Why is there a fork in the tank?
At least tell is of they are fresh or salt water fish and temp
so waiiit, corydoras clean up the bottom but you have to clean their poop from the bottom??? why get them then?
Because they are very helpful with stirring the substrate up into the water
I grew up calling corydoras cory cats.
Yeah.........Bristlenose at No. 1
Yep!
Cory Dora (K - or - e - dor -a)
😁👍
😃
👀
Pleco are huge you can’t keep them in a 20 gallon are you serious?
I literally want them as a gift for my dads family so they won't do the work to clean the fish aquarium
Thats not how it works. Nitrate can only be removed with water changes... they will all die within a month or two if thats how your gonna do it.
Put duckweed in your aquarium. It removes nitrates and I only have to do a water change once every 2 weeks. Been working for me for 6 years now.
You are definitely seeing the name wrong. They are Coridora, The word ends in an A not an i or a y so it's not Dory. Not hard to understand how to pronounce the word
all i have to say is Loaches And Ottos
12.27.21 ws c13 hood gls nk guerra
i texted you in instagram do you respond
I try to keep as many MARIMO moss balls as possible cause I love balls and they help so well uwu and cheap easy and they get big, good big balls! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Mainly tho cause plants are the most superior of all filters technically speaking they do tho filter everything and make the water perfect so completely bombarded tanks with plants is nice right? Of course still cleaning filters and water changes but yeeee plants keep it pretty too
Thanks for watching !!!
@@KeepingFishSimple i was not listening to ACDC big balls song commenting that btw XD
I wouldn't call them cleaners.
Algae eaters is more like it.
(Edit: I jumped to conclusions before he mentioned it)
Lol typical stoner 🤣
Hahahaha
@@tinalavender8802
Meh,
Typical normie picking on everyone else.
Lol I’m a toker 😉
@@KeepingFishSimple so I got some tetras, they came,5 where dead and the rest died 2 days late ffs that’s eBay for you
This video is totally wrong! Sucker Loaches are brilliant and regular water changes with a UV light! Look at the state of those tanks in this video
Yes you are wrong it pronounced co - ry - do - ras !
I wish you would grow your mustache back please.
omg. Keep it simple. I way to much talking
How can you say there’s no way to not have to change your water. I know you’re prob talking to the Rookies, but there are ways to make your tank natural you just have to know what to do and not be lazy
