@@TheWhiskyBaron Well, I'm not sure if you've got a video on this already, but I'd love to learn more about how the stills affect the spirit. Ie if it's a fat with a short lyne arm Vs a long lyne arm. It would be super interesting for you to say : if you love the stuff coming out from this distillery, here's why and here are some other distilleries with a similar signature. Tall order, but I'd for one be fascinated by your insights on that
@@jameswrightesq we haven't done an episode on that and it's definitely a great topic of convo. something we'll have to map out properly for it to be interesting/educational but I'll have a chat with the team and see what we can do. sláinte James
@@TheWhiskyBaron Yeah, it's a beefy one for sure! Probably why I haven't found it discussed in much detail elsewhere on whiskytube. There are just so many individual and impactful factors along the production line, the ingredients, the climate, the maturation process, age etc etc. In fact I'm starting to convince myself it can't really be done 😜 It would be akin to de-sequencing DNA! I wonder if chatGPT or other LLM would be able to help chart out the various still , wash (etc etc) characteristics of each OB of each distillery and then match them up, like a finger printing database?
@@jameswrightesq this sounds like the sort of mad scientist stuff I like to get involved in! not sure it would make for a very well put together episode, but we'll keep working our way through different topics and distilleries and hopefully our 'work' will be a good base for this sort of thing. let me know if you do give it a whirl with ChatGPT
Great Podcast as always, and few other RUclipsWhiskyers talk about worm tubs other than a passing comment. Bringing together these worm tub whisky's was brilliant. I love Craigellachie 13
Craigey 13 is a banger! Glad you enjoyed it Euan - wormtubs are one of my favourite style so you’ll probably see a second episode on this topic at some point
Hey gents, greeting from Brazil! I’m finally coming up for air from our home renovations nightmare and some exciting entrepreneurial projects to catch up on episodes - they do take a time commitment because worthy of paying close attention. There’s something very special about worm tub expressions and I’ve been especially collecting Craigellachie IBs and this hotel exclusive is an absolute must that I’ve been meaning to source. Please add thumbnails of the bottles u feature for our reference. Keep up the great work brothers!
I have a bottle of Wormtub 10 year old from a sherry cask which is pretty good. My hunch is that it's Mortlach but it could be Benrinnes. Tintin appears to have the greatest depth of whisky knowledge so maybe he knows? Hopefully see you good folks at the GWF in a couple of weeks. NB. Old Mask Cask sometimes bottle at less than 50% which is cask strength.
That flora and fauna Dailuaine bottle is great jake! Pronounced dahl-yoon! (Easiest way) another great one gents, learned so much about a topic I've been curious about
I have an option to buy Craigellachie 13 for around €50 near me. I was wondering are there batch variations, and if yes, what bottling year should I get? Also, I'm a big fan of Springbank 10, and thought this could be an interesting alternative. Or is it a totally different beast?
This was pleasure to listen/watch, thank you!
Thanks Ivan, great to have you join us! Sláinte 🥃
This was another cracking episode. Massive fan of Glen Elgin and Benrinnes. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Sounds like you’re a man of good taste Brian! Thanks for joining in, sláinte
Loved this video. Thanks for pulling this together. Learned alot!
Thanks James, glad you enjoyed it. Let us know if there are any other whisky deep dives you’d like us to do (or if you’d like more on Worm Tubs!)

Another good episode. Catching up on re-play. Like!
Great to learn a bit more about worm tubs and which distilleries use them. Will be looking at getting the Glen Elgin soon.
Glad you enjoyed it Chris - let us know how you get on with that Glen Elgin!
Hot tubs? Nah, give me some worm tubs. Great episode gents.
I want a pillow with that embroidered on 😂
@@TheWhiskyBaron hell yes!
Love the episode. Love the distilleries too!
Surprised you had no Edradour, it’s a banger.

Very interesting podcast, gentlemen.
Makes me want to try more Craigellachie....
One of the best and the only brand that turns up twice in our upcoming episode covering whiskies of the year..

Sorry David, missed this. I’ve got a couple of those OMC cask strength bottles but they’re few and far between unfortunately
Making me dangerously thirsty for a Tuesday! 😂 strong work lads!
Quench that thirst with some worm tub whiskies Tom!
Definitely going to try the Glen Elgin. Wondering if I’ve had some as part of the Whisky-Me subscription a while back
Yes Dave! Let us know your thoughts and if it does indeed taste familiar

There are batch variations but not easy to tell them apart in flavour or label. Great alternative to a Springer 10
The bearded guy is too loud almost obnoxious ! I cant listen to him
