Great show. Y’all should get Dr. Tom Rhea on the show and talk about his early days at Moog and his new book on vintage electronic musical instruments.
Another great show y'all! As a happy owner of the TH suite from Acustica Audio, I must say that yes, it is pricey but the sound is really something. Their whole philosophy (I use their products for around 80% of my mixing and mastering work) is based upon a special form of sampling which they have been evolving for over a decade and a half. Combining that with some world-class coding and modeling, they have built some products that are seriously groundbreaking. I for one am so happy that they have brought their expertise into the soft synth world. The raw oscillators in the TH8 and TH5 have a very present, lively character, with great definition and the modulation facility is decent (as per the hardware). The LP filter section is glorious, with 4 distinct types available, and 2 levels of resonance in the TH8 that can make that bad boy wail like a Cyborg Banshee. I've only been seriously into synths for about 4-5 years but I have never come across that before. There are also 3 types of envelope available in the TH5 (which I hope will come to the TH8 soon). The Chorus is to die for, and the Delay and Reverb sections have a healthy range of high quality sampled models taken from their premium product lines. The Superstereo function and sub oscillator (sine and square wave) also deserve honourable mentions. The CPU hit is not diminutive (ECO mode with effects bypassed is a good place to start) but not extortionate either (comparable to the Arturia Easel V). I think you can probably guess that I like it a lot right? ... 😁
Awesome show ❤

Would love to see Chris on the show again - seems like a real good dude.
That he is 🙂
