Those who gave their lives for their country in 1940 & who were in those graves were sadly just the start of the losses. At least they had a grave that could be visited by their family. Millions of Wehrmacht "Soldaten" would come to be lost in "Der Ost" & had their graves desecrated or had no grave at all.
