Top 20 Greatest Ever Villains in Star Wars Media!
My favorite Darth Vader scene is I am your father in Star Wars episode 5 The Empire Strikes Back.
@@KiryuGodzilla1 Most impressive, I second that
"I am not your failure, Obi-Wan. You didn't kill Anakin Skywalker. I did."
May the Fourth be with you!
"It is... too late for me, son."
That was the first time Anakin, not Vader, spoke in many years.
True. It was Anakin. Anakin spoke before he and Luke went to Death Star too
True
Seriously, destroying the hallway in Rogue One is the most badass scene of them all, how is that only number 4???
I went to see Rogue One 4 times just for that scene 😂
So true
Not only that, but Gareth Edwards was able to make arguably the greatest movie villian of all time even more badass after 40 years of the first time you ever saw him on screen.
Because _WatchMojo._ That's why.
That scene ranks up there whenever I think of notable movie scenes. The scene is dramatic but Vader is strictly business and the entire sequence moves along in that fashion. Other movies might have expounded on this, but it's neither necessary and sticks to the character. The Dark Side does not have time for that.
All Darth Vader scenes are cool. His voice and breathing are iconic. May the fourth be with you.
Absolutely! Darth Vader's presence on screen is always electric, thanks to that iconic voice and those ominous breaths. May the fourth be with you too!
Should’ve included Vaders entrance at the end of Fall Order.
I agree
Me too
Darth Vader: You have failed me, inquisitor. *Ignites lightsaber*
In Return Of the Jedi, his final reconciliation with Luke? Mhwah. Chefs kiss.
Also, I know it’s from the comics and not any of the movies/TV shows, but Vader’s “All I am surrounded by is fear…And dead men.” line when pinned down by an army of Rebels deserved at least an honorable mention.
Gives me chills
Bro, that line was epic! And then, he singlehandedly murders every single person there. Violently. So, so epic.
Darth Vader vs 3rd sister should be here. It was one of the best depiction of Vader's strength. It was literally a master against a student.
"I am NOT your failure; I killed Anakin Skywalker": "Obi-Wan" series
YES! I was literally watching this one going "How close to the top is this scene?"
And it wasn't there! That is crazy to me!
I came here to pay my respects to James Earl Jones. He was the perfect voice for Darth Vader. His voice made the character sound and appear that much more terrifying. It pains me to say that Star Wars will never be the same again. RIP James Earl Jones, thank you for all the memories. May The Force be with you. ❤
Same rip
In 1977 a cimematic icon was born. thank you David Prowse and James Earl Jones for bringing this character to life.
Absolutely! David Prowse's physical portrayal and James Earl Jones's iconic voice combined to create the legendary character we all know and love. Their contributions to cinema will never be forgotten.
I would've included a scene from The Clone Wars where Anakin is shown his future by the Son on Mortis. We as the audience already know Anakin's dark future, but to have him see all of the horrible things he'll eventually do - without knowing why - is blood chilling and heart breaking. And the irony is that Anakin does the things he does out of fear of harming the ones he loves, and the Son manages to temporarily steer him to the Dark Side for the very same reason. It's a momentary relief when the Father erases Anakin's memory of that vision to ensure peace, but we still know that that future was set in stone 😭
I’ve always loved the scene in ESB when his helmet is coming on in his meditation chamber. Shows what Vader truly is behind the mask
Do you think it adds complexity to his character?
@@WatchMojo yes. It shows he's human
An interesting fact about the Battle on Mustafar is that, originally, the plan was for Anakin to break through Vader briefly after he was cut down by Obi-Wan and ask for help.
You can even still see it in the final cut that made it into the movie.
Just before he screams about hating Obi-Wan, you can see Anakin mouthing the words help me.
While it wasn't intentional, I think that actually makes it even more impactful and heartbreaking.
While they'd tried to remove that part of the scene, by removing the dialogue, it makes it even more tragic an end to their battle.
For the briefest of moments, Anakin is able to break through the Vader persona that has consumed him, but Vader is still so overwhelming that he stops Anakin's voice, meaning Anakin's final plea before falling deep down inside Vader goes unheard, the realisation of that causing Anakin to lose hope and thus lose that final small bit of control he'd struggled so desperately to get, giving Vader the power to bury him deep down within his hatred and rage.
It makes the scene so much stronger and that's honestly pretty cool when you think about it
The final scene from Clone Wars is one moment that should be honorable. Along with the big boss battle Jedi Survivor.
The moment where he is sitting on the jedi temple and looks to padme through the buildings should Get at least an honourable mention
Darth Vader is my favorite Star Wars villain. 🎉
I haven’t played _Jedi: Fallen Order,_ but Vader’s appearance as the final boss should easily top the _Profundity_ rampage.
Vader: You have failed me, Inquisitor.
Second Sister: Avenge us!
One of my favorite Darth Vader scenes is from Revenge of the Sith when he becomes Darth Vader. It's also sad.
Would of been cooler if we got to see more of Vader before he was put in the iconic suit or even if he didn’t wear the suit and was never burned on Mustafar but wore a robe and hid his face or wore just a mask like Darth Revan
The part where Vader tells Kenobi that he wasn't his failure is a great scene that should've been on this list.
Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! 0:30 That was an amazing scene to watch. Darth Vader showed the greatest charisma in that scene. 🤣
Cinema Therapy- Anakin Skywalker
Borderline personality Disorder
Great video. I loved the Luke skywalker one
All sith’s have personality disorder
I really have no idea if I even have a favorite Darth Vader moment. He’s so cool and like the best villain ever. If I had to choose one I would say it’s his redemption scene when he kills Palpatine and saves his son. That moment is just so huge and powerful especially if you watch it with the sequels in mind knowing how much Palpatine manipulated and hurt him. It always brings me to tears. It’s so cool and moving to see someone who was so incredibly evil for so long finally decide to do the right thing. Plus he’s watching his son who is one of the only links to his beloved dead wife he has get tortured. And watching him looking at Palpatine and Luke trying to decide what to do is such moving. And when he finally does get his redemption it’s insanely satisfying and beautiful.
Love Vader! He is so cool and in Rogue One he hit it out of the park with a Grand Slam!
Vader is my favorite character!
Fantastic countdown! Perfection.
So many iconic ones! Duel with Ahsoka, really touching and heartbreaking,Darth Vader kills Obi-Wan,Vader kills Rebels in hallway, return to the light, duel with Obi-Wan on Mustafar. So epic, touching, heartbreaking. I am your father-absolutely number 1! It's perfect😀It shows how powerful Vader is. And the reveal is epic. He knew what to do. Great video!😀
Getting the suit should have been on the list rather than an honorable mention. Its an iconic moment that fully transforms the character into the menacing monster from the first 3 films.
In the honorable mention, I was hoping to see the moment in kenobi's serie when dark vador stop the spaceship and rip it piece by piece in the episode 5.
These are my Top 10 Darth Vader Moments in Star Wars
#1 = I am your father - EPISODE V: The Empire Strikes Back
#2 = Suit Transformation - EPISODE III: Revenge of the Sith
#3 = Redemption and death - EPISODE VI: Return of the Jedi
#4 = Duel with Obi-Wan Kenobi - OBI-WAN KENOBI
#5 = Hallway Destruction - ROGUE ONE: A Star Wars Story
#6 = The Duel with Ahsoka - STAR WARS: REBELS
#7 = Conversation with Luke before taking him to The Emperor - EPISODE VI: Return of the Jedi
#8 = Force Choking Conan Motti - EPISODE IV: A New Hope
#9 = Capture at Cloud City - EPISODE V: The Empire Strikes Back
#10 = Vader's Introduction - EPISODE IV: A New Hope
HONORABLE MENTION
#0 = Killing Ben Kenobi - EPISODE IV: A New Hope
Now I know there are just as iconic moments like from EPISODE III: REVENGE OF THE SITH. Those include the final battle with Obi-Wan Kenobi, the betrayal that led to Windu's death, the attack on the Jedi Temple, and the assassination of the Separatist leaders on Mustafar.
But I personally say those were Anakin Skywalker moments. For me, the Darth Vader moments will only count when it comes to his black suit and helmet. Now those are the proper true and actual DARTH VADER moments for me personally.
Vader ripping the Shuttle apart, then flighting against a light saber with his hands in the Obi Wan series was worth at least an honorable mention
i cannot believe how many subs this channel has with out much they talk and interrupt what they are talking about
THE HALLWAY SCENE IS BADASS!
It would be hard to see a "I am your father" level of plot twist happening in todays age of social media - as soon as somebody got wind of it you'd expect it to be just about everywhere minutes later
A villain that never disappoints me
What is it about him that keeps you coming back for more?
Darth Vader is my favorite character from "Star Wars." I've been into Star Wars ever since I was a little kid. I can do an impression of Darth Vader's breathing as well as an impression of Yoda. I was hoping Darth Vader revealing to Luke that he was his father would be the number one pick. I believe Darth Vader has been my favorite character from Star Wars for as long as I can remember.
Homer Simpson: "Who would've thought Darth Vader was Luke Skywalker's father?"
The hallway scene in Rogue One was exactly what we needed, to be afraid of Vader again,
No scenes can best “I am ur father” best plot twist and moments in Star Wars history
Rip to an absolute legend of an actor
“You may sense some spoilers ahead.”
*shows I am your father scene from Star Wars Episode V The Empire Strikes Back spoiling the twist for younger generations*
R.I.P James and David your legacy will live on forever.
I would have added the scene where he says I am not your failure Obi Wan, You didn’t kill Anakin Skywalker, I did. That scene was gold. One of the few incredible scenes in Kenobi
Hallway of destruction is the most badass scene and fighting obi wan on mustafar is the coldest and epic scene. May the 4th be with you
The fact that this was only made 3 weeks ago it’s super surprising to me.
I liked the scene from Kenobi where Vader pulls an entire starship/shuttle to the ground with 1 hand.
The hallway scene scared the hell out of me in the cinema
happy star wars day!!!(darth vader going "m. bison if he had a lightsaber" in rogue one & his atonement/using the force are my favorites alongside when they show he can mentally wreck you just as easily physically.:3)
I find your faith in Vader pleasing
RIP Darth Vader! ⚔️🕊️🕊️
He died, saving his son 😔
Imperial officer Force choked to death.
Vader: "Apology accepted, Captain Needa."
another honorable mention would be Luke Skywalker’s vision on Dagobah. While it’s not actually Darth Vader himself, it still left an impression when Luke cut off the Sith Lord’s head-only to find his own face staring back at him.
RiP James Earl Jones. His epic voice made Darth Vader immortal
May the 4th be with you
Rouge one my twin sister and I love that one.
Don’t forget his appearances in Fallen Order and Survivor.
Vader will always be one of the greatest movie villains in Cinema history.
I would also put the part where he arrives in the final scene of Fallen Order and pretty much bests everyone.
It’ll be another 364 days till we get more of Star Wars Day.
Darth vader beast mode is ultimate true power make story scenes awesome to watch
"I am your father." Still hits me like a train.
The reason why i felt like the obi wan show was kinda necessary is because it gives you some explanation as to why obi wan calls anakin « vader » in episode 4 instead of simply anakin
He went from Jedi padawan to knight to Darth Vader and then back in Anikin.
Warning you may sense spoilers ahead then shows the I am your father scene right after 😂
"You don't know the power of the Dark Side."
I remember my girlfriend's dad said he is an empire strikes back fan, and I told him my favorite is revenge of the sith, and my girlfriend likes force awakens. I guess we all have our eras. I also remember when my girlfriend and i had a zoom date my girlfriend's dad had his phone ringtone was a darth vader breathing.
Revenge of the Sith is a GREAT movie. It peeves me that it gets lumped in with the dreadful phantom menace and clones
you missed the moment in kenobi part 6 where vader's voice went from hayden's to james earl jones after his helmet is cracked open for the first time and has a little chat with obi-wan
That brought tears to many a fan
The moment it breaths, you’re done for.
Happy may the fourth be with you!!🙌💝🤩
Darth Vader is the goat of the sith lord
Sad they didn't include the moment when Darth Vader goes into a angry rampage and 2 Stormtroopers walking foward hears him then pauses, looks at each other then walks away pretending like nothing happened! 😂
Its a shame they didnt add comic panels..because nothing beats
"All im surrounded by is fear....and dead men"
RIP James Earl Jones
We are lucky that the US still writes dates like MM-DD-YY... while "May the fourth be with you" works there, here in the rest of the world its just the 4th of May.
Any Jedi fighting Darth could have just used telekinesis to crush his electronics or breathing apparatus. Obi Wan could have easily finished the job after he lopped off half of Darth's mask.
RIP
James Earl Jones 😞
Rest in peace James earl jones
I see that Return of the Jedi 1/6 scale Hot Toys Vader picture that you used for the thumbnail.
I am your Father- Darth Vader That s My Line
Darth Vader is My Favorite Star Wars Character. He is Voiced by James Earl Jones
You guys left off a great Vader entry. Season 2 of #Rebels: The Siege of Lothal.
What have you done with those plans?!
darth vader is unironically my favorite character in the entire star wars franchise, no questions about it.
Narrator: introducing Red Vader[...] oooff pufff
DP: that's me🤣
Seriously on cloud city is the iconic,
But indeed Fight on mustifar is a he'll flame of a fight dual 1on1
So again in Rogue rogue Rogue One is truly all living fight attack scene to look like a massacre scene where all rebel troops escapes with the plan archives of the death star, than Vader appears shockness pain of pail
May the 4th be with you.
Rip James Earl Jones
“Obi wan has taught you well.”
R.I.P James earl jones
Here's an idea for a future video if you're interested: *top ten weirdly good RUclips animations. Basically RUclips videos that are...questionable but have admittedly good animations.*
And I always thought james james earl Jones played that part but they were just using his voice
Right? James Earl Jones's voice is so iconic that it's easy to assume he played the physical role too. But his voice alone brought Darth Vader to life in such an unforgettable way.
Vader annihilating Phoenix squadron
Anakin Is Gone. I Am What Remains.
Hint: all of his moments are the greatest
I feel like there was some more great stuff in the Obi Wan Kenobi show that could have been included.
7:53, can anyone lipread? What did anakin/darth vader said to obi wan?
TOP 10 Ugliest Robots
Where's the "Top 20 Best Supervillain Teams" video?! #WatchMojo
Does Darth Vader really mean I'am your father in German since I kept hearing ever since the movie came out May the 4th be with Obi-wan and Yoda
Anakin/Darth Vader vs Ahsoka in the Ahsoka show
They didn’t even mention the pod race
I think Redemption should be in part 1
