Oh my goodness. All the people involved in getting Paul his gear back! Bless them! So kind. It makes one ponder on all the messed up people in the world who would steal...and all the really lovely people in the world who would go out of their way to rectify that theft. I am not surprised Paul's feet were hurting him, and I am SO glad he got his own shoes back. He looked really exhausted in this video; I imagine the worry had kept him up. I hope he got a good night's sleep the next night. Oh my, and he had bike trouble too. I have to tell you, I think Paul is riding this tour on Nightmare Level. Thank goodness for all the trail angels willing to help him.
thoroughly enjoyed this episode today...your semi-calm demeanor with the aggressive dogs is commendable...you seem to keep a positive attitude...about 180 degrees from me...wondering how much weight have you lost? Looking pretty buff. Keep up the good work!
Kentucky dude here, Fireball attracts a certain "type" like cigarettes and lottery tickets! 😂 My buddy was just bitten by a dog while riding last week, there are entirely too many aggressive/untrained dogs allowed to roam this part of the country... your air horn is a great idea!
Those dogs! What a pain! I imagine you can't pick up your rear wheel and run the chain up the cassette with all the weight either. Squealing brakes work about as good as the air horn too. People who don't support Trump in rural areas are pretty cautious, the magas can get dangerously crazy. But praise the Lord for yet another church!
I know you removed the Grip shifters from your bike, why is what I want to know. I've been using Grip Shifters on my Sun Sport AX, since I bought it in 2007. and I live them. So easy to shift with them. Don't have to go click, clickity click. Just twist, and since they are indexed, very easy to do. As for those dogs. Supposedly, you could report them to the local law enforcement, and they are supposed to do something. But its Hillbilly Hell where you are. So it's not worth it. So next big town that has a pet shop, or a sporting good store. See if you can find a "Coaches Whistle" you can wear around your neck. One of those sonic dog whistles would be good, if you could find one. Stay safe.
you seem like a really great guy...very positive and happy about the world...unfortunately, there is a huge disconnect between your view of the world and your actions considering what you eat and that you support the inhumane treatment of animals. Your traveling buddy is a vegetarian...he is light years ahead of you in ethical and compassionate behavior. You're having such an amazing journey out in the big ole' world...but you can't get out of your head when it comes to understanding the dire consequences of supporting animal farming. Have a long talk with the vegetarian and then ask yourself, is he wrong? Normally, I wouldn't say anything...but I like you and you are in the public eye.
@@RS-jr7jd This is the last I will speak on the subject. Paul has reached a level of compassion and understanding that David has yet to achieve. And Paul knows that it is a personal journey. But since David feels obliged to display sausage pizza as a reward for a hard day of riding, I feel obliged to tell him that he might consider researching the inhumane treatment suffered by pigs as they are being raised and slaughtered. David promotes it as if it is okay and normal to consume sausage. Educate yourself as to the reality of the situation. David cannot help but grow from his amazing cycling journey. Perhaps he will grow even more when he realizes that his actions may have dire consequences that he has not considered before.

Yes, the Eastern Kentucky stereotype held true for us.

I want to buy Paul's bike after the tour is over... he's replacing all the parts, it will be basically brand new by the time he finishes! :)

Cheese & crackers...
Great video - love your humane treatment of the dogs. 😉 I wonder who the dogs vote for? Nyuk! Nyuk! 👏

What age is Paul, he must be a tough guy!

agree on the grip shifters...I will never own another bike without them

Doesn’t seem to bother Paul. Maybe you could learn from him, Evan.
