I always appreciate Dr. Beeke's recommendations, own the set, and am in the process of reading them, and I am grateful to have purchased this set, especially as a convert from a lifetime of Roman Catholicism: the Reformers are real to me in a way they never seemed to be at the OPC in Crystal Lake, Illinois where I initially worshipped when I was concerted (NOT through the OPC, I might add, which offered to teach "something different" if teaching on the Reformation would "offend" me as a Roman Catholic). The Reformers who similarly broke away from the only church they had ever known are more real and meaningful to me than they ever seemed to be to the academically detached and indifferent OPC, which lacked the conviction to call out the Roman Catholic Church for what it truly is. Don Green of Truth Community Church in Cincinnati, on the other hand, preached a 10-part series on the Bible and Roman Catholicism which was seminal for me.
