I hate how YT refuses to fix this ongoing crypto hacking problem but jumps on making completely unnecessary changes to the site while also making people pay for premium
this has to do with how browser stores cookies and how google recognize your computer as safe devices to login to. they are able to bypass a lot of stuff with social engineering and steal those cookies and impersonate. I have a feeling they uses scripts to automate this, because they shouldn't be able to do this on a different computer in a different area. meaning the script does all the switching in a split seconds on Andre's computer. I don't think any company can avoid this, this is more on the user's mistake than on the company.
@@pencilcheck I think it could be more of a browser issue, by default the browser should not allow any of this if possible. This is a massive security problem and blaming the user all the time doesn't solve the issue. Most people use the default browser the PC comes with, 99% of PC users probably doesn't even know what an adblocker is, nevermind trying to understand cookies and all. It should be the job of the browser to ensure that running a program on your computer doesn't just run a bunch of scripts in your browser like that. I'm no expert in cybersecurity but even more so is the average internet user and there should be measures to avoid this.
@@PotatoToonI don't know the details, my guess is that they are able to launch the browser in the back, and somehow gain access to it. Keep in mind Andre isn't technical, so he probably missed some details that are crucial to determine the real cause.
@@pencilcheck No need to start the browser in the background. The relevant information (cookies, local storage, etc.) of a browser are stored in files. It's as simple as sending a file.

That sounds scary, these scams do ruin small and big youtubers 😨 I'm glad ur ok and we need a safer community for every youtuber cuz they work hard to create content.
It feels like scammers are running rampant lately. Unfortunately, I fell victim to one on Discord almost 3 weeks ago, and I still haven't gotten word from Discord support about it at all. After looking into things, I've learned that Discord support isn't that great, so my faith in getting it back is rather low, but we'll see. I'm glad you managed to get your account back, though.

@broshigames I hate to think the same way, but you're probably right. Luckily, I made a new one way before this happened. Hello there! I'm also one of the victims that has fallen for these types of scams. Me and my little sister's RUclips channels that have the equivalent of a million subscribers have been hacked recently and to top it all of that, they hacked into my computer at the same time you were hacked as well! I'm glad your RUclips channel is fine, but unfortunately for us, RUclips has already terminated both me and my little sister's accounts. The same thing happened as well, we got an email for a game sponsorship and a really sketchy Pdf file was attached to it, it's exactly like you described it! I was searching on RUclips yesterday and i found out that many other channels have fallen victim to these types of scams. I can't imagine how many times these scums would go out of their way to scam other RUclipsrs, it's really gut wrenching to hear that they're on the rise now. I hope RUclips fixes this problem.
I didn’t know this would happen! Not just your channel, but other RUclips channels are also having the same issue from both big and small. I hope those hackers would learn their lesson. Glad you’re back Andre and the rest of the GX crew!
I'm so sorry that you guys have went through this. I was one of the subscribers that saw the crypto live stream on my subscription feed and was confused.
When i see a bitcoin thing on my feed, i always think, who was hacked now? When i found out, you were already aware of it, i think this is the fifth channel i follow that was hacked
I am subscribed to yet another RUclipsr whom this happened to but neither in his or Linus' case I could hear out how exactly things happened. Nice PSA from you, hope you keep your channel safe from now on.
Glad you're back. My old account got hacked a year ago and my Google account won't recover. Good tip guys. Those scammers will pay for this. I didn't even get permission or I didn't credit someone, let alone realizing when I woke up my old account was terminated due to a third party claim and was due to gaming content I didn't. Now I need someone to apologize what I've done and I'll never share anything to anyone ever again. I apologize everyone. I'm awfully sorry. Please forgive me.

Which maybe you guys don’t have anyways, but I’m really happy to hear that you’re back and have things taken care of. ❤
All the best! Hopefully you're able to recover quickly and get back to it! 🎶🎵
Glad you were able to get the channel back. I remember they did the same thing to Did You Know Gaming and it sucks
Sorry about what happened on Friday
Hopefully you can get ALL of the livestreams back on the channel
Oh my gosh, I'm so so glad you were able to get the channel back immediately! Hacking is just terrible tbh.
Espically as what you said in the video with all types of fake links/scams going on online. I'm sorry you and the GX crew had to go through that. I'm more happy that the channel is safely back though! 🔥❤️
Well dang, that whole situation sounds like it really sucked. Glad you guys are back
thank you so much for those tips you literally have no idea how long I've been through this hell hole but I'm going to give you a few more tips so I can do your job better if y'all are still trying to recover your accounts especially when you did something stupid like hacking your account forgetting it or or even doing something stupid to get yourself locked out at the first place here are the pretty good ones
make sure they are associated to the other email address
always pay your phone bills even if it's rarely
most importantly always back up everything before doing something stupid if you do something stupid that's a you problem I'm personally sorry I'm Not Innocent at this scenario either
be careful stay safe out there
Glad that you got your channel back. I also got hacked too, and let me tell you. Getting hacked is not fun. I had my email hacked, I had my Twitch account hacked, I had my steam account hacked, and I had my Microsoft account hacked. All everything at once. I went through the weirdest hell in order to get everything back. I got everything back expect for my Microsoft account. I'll make sure that this will never happen again 😮💨
I pretty much always use the community tab to figure out who's been hacked. Idk why it's always left unchanged
Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that 😭
Have you tried reaching out to RUclips to see if they can restore your accounts??
I didn’t know this would happen! Not just your channel, but other RUclips channels are also having the same issue from both big and small. I hope those hackers would learn their lesson. Glad you’re back Andre and the rest of the GX crew!
Glad to see you guys back up and running, please take your time to recover your channel and wish you guys all the best!
Ugh sorry Andre. Im glad you got you got it back. We love your content!! Much love for you all from Philadelphia
Must be hard to go through all of that trouble!! I would feel the same way. Glad you are good now, though.
