I forgot to say in the video that the cables only support USB 2.0 transfer speeds of 480 Mbps. Also, the braided version is now showing as a separate product on the website… and the UK price on Amazon has dropped since recording this video.

Oof.. my immediate thought was; that what cable companies usually sell “audiophile” grade audio cables for.
Also I haven’t yet found any cable that won’t break. The problem isn’t usually the number of bends the cable can take or the number of inserts the connector can take, every cable inevitably breaks at the point where the connector is attached to the rest of the cable because that’s where its both most fragile and where the most force is exerted be it bends, twists, or pulls.
It’d be very interesting if you made a follow up video with long-term test results later! By Erin, of course 😃

if there was a decently powerful charging brick in the package, i'd buy such cable set for that price...

One thing that is unclear on the Amazon web site is whether you can get a replacement for one of the yellow cables if you loose one?

Given the same company sells a 1.8m cable for 10 quid, I’d say the set is worth about a 1/3 of the asking price. I’ll keep an eye on it and see what it costs in a few months.

There’s a market on cables because phone companies start sending crappie ones included. The first usb cables from Mac use to last forever (they still work).

I’ve spent over a 100 on a single cable. The apple thunderbolt 4 cable is the perfect cable. The usbc standard is so fragmented so one cable that covers every standard usb 3 usb 3.1 gen 1 usb 3.1 gen 2 usb 4 thunderbolt 3 and 4. Along with DisplayPort 2.0 and 1.4 it’s worth every penny. All standards covered in one cable that also supports 100 watts usb PD.

I usually go with ESR or Belkin. They are good quality and gets discounted after a few months. So its a good deal.
Plus they have both data and power. Cant imagine going with another set of cables just in case i need to transfer some files in bulk.
They shud have designed the connectors to support data as well.

According to the website the cables support 480Mbps (USB 2.0), so actually a keyboard would work. But if you’re going to the trouble of making a premium USB-C cable, it really should support 10Gbps.

A new thought. I always went with the original Apple ones. But now, there is a new system of providing charger. I feel I should take this question seriously and look at it. But it is hard to go away from the original. But I do have a unoriginal wireless charger...

A fool and his money are easily parted…. Would I spend that much on a cable? HELL NO…. I typically spend about GBP 8 every 3 years (or longer) on a good cable from ebay which is the right lengthy, is braided, the colour that I want and has LEDs. Oh and has a right angle plug!
